About the home

You are invited to experience our privately owned estate and vineyard situated in the Gard at the foothills of the Cevennes. This magnificent and unique 1830 Mas sleeps up to 13, with terraces and gardens full of many majestic trees. A large, completely private swimming lake is fed by four natural sources and maintains an agreeable temperature.

Inside, you will find high ceilings and lovely furniture. With balconies and terraces overlooking the vast estate, we hope you will feel at home in your palace. A Provençal chef is on site –available for shopping and cooking--as well as a masseuse, a babysitter and a maid.

In all surrounding villages, you will find charming summer festivals, shopping and restaurants. Villa Plantat is
within close proximity to the metropolitan cities of Montpellier and Nîmes, where you find the best preserved Roman ruins. World-renowned prehistoric caves and bamboo garden. Fabulous mountain hiking and canoeing. Plantat is suitable for a wide range of ages. Perfect for children, as are long-term renters. It is a low allergen environment. Le Salon is an elegant living room, with seating up to 15. In the Library you'll find plenty of indoor ways to entertain yourself.

Further details outdoors:
On the grounds of Villa Plantat is also an outdoor dining area (with seating up to 13), a vineyard, forests, and flower gardens. Your private, spring-fed swimming lake is near by, and in the Miller's house (by the lake) you'll find toys and beach chairs.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Gard region

Upon arriving, all guests are presented with a booklet on local culture in order to take best advantage of the wonderful sites and things to do in the area. With wine tastings around every corner, Gard is enchanting. In Gard, summer festivals of music, food and art are plentiful. Amongst the rolling green hills nearby are the metropolitan cities of Montpellier and Nîmes, where you will find the best preserved Roman ruins in the world, renowned prehistoric caves, and bamboo gardens.

The Quissac area

Villa Plantat is only 1.8 km from shopping and restaurants in the lovely village of Quissac, where Robert Louis Stevenson finished his book “Travels with a Donkey." There, you will find plenty of small town culture, local shops and restaurants. Local Fetes can be found in all of the neighboring villages.

Fabulous mountain hiking and canoeing are just a few of the activities near by, along with horseback riding, golf, tennis, wine tasting, biking, swimming, fishing and painting.

Also a Local Tour Guide, Provecal Chef, Masseuse, Baby Sitter, as well as a Maid Service are all available for an additional fee.

The trip to Villa Plantat is simple. It is possible to fly into the nearby towns of Montpellier and Nimes, or travel by train to Nimes. From either town you can rent a car or hire a taxi to make the easy, half-hour drive to Quissac.
