This spacious one bedroom apartment is generously split over two floors and can accommodate up to 4 adults. Entry on the first floor opens into the light, open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area that also offers a separate shower room. The compact kitchen is fully equipped, the light, airy living area offers dining for 4 and relaxation on an L shaped sofa bed (sleeps 2).The South Easterly balcony offers additional seating for al fresco dining and relaxing. Stairs lead down to the large bedroom with en suite bathroom (shower/bath) and private ground floor terrace with 2 sun beds provided for guests. The resort has a large communal pool with a children´s pool, with a bar selling drinks and snacks from April through the summer. The owners have arranged for wi fi to be available in the apartment and there is also wi fi available for guests to use at the pool area.
This well located apartment offers fantastic possibilities within a 15 minute or less walking distance. The beach is under a ten minute walk (or two minute drive and park) away, charmingly reached by a wooden bridge over the tidal lagoon; the lake offers a range of water sports, whilst the nearest of 4 golf courses is also within a 15 minute walk. Ria Formosa National Park offers a wide range of flora, fauna and birds which can be enjoyed on foot or bike by exploring the many paths that cross this conservation area. Restaurants, bars, cafes and shops offer a range of choice and are within a short drive.
The apartment is popular with couples with young children due to the fact that the apartment is equipped for them - high chair, baby gate, cot and other features.

The Algarve region
The Algarve is the southern most region of Portugal and benefits from more than 3000 hours of sunshine each year with the generally mild winters enticing visitors wishing to escape colder weather at home and take advantage of cheaper flights to enjoy winter sun breaks and golfing trips out of season. The region is well known for its 160 Km of coastline offering numerous Blue Flag awarded beaches, its 35 golf courses offering challenges for all players and the wide range of sports; however there is a wealth of cultural and natural attractions that draw visitors each year. Exploration of the region uncovers diversity from the coastlines with its modern resorts to the inland regions of the Monchique Mountains, traditional villages such as Alte Cacela Velha and Alcoutim and the river trips up the River Guardiana, the natural border with Spain.
Vilamoura is within a 30 minute drive from Quinta do Lago. Its 1000 berth marina offers diverse shopping, dining and activity options including mini golf, dolphin watching, clay pigeon shooting, sea fishing and the large casino with daily cabaret shows and night club.
The largest water and amusement park in Portugal is within a 20 minute drive at the Aquashow Park in Quarteira or a bit further a field is Zoomarine at Guia a family theme park with an impressive aquarium and marine life presentations including dolphins.
The region´s capital Faro and the old market town of Loulé offer a wide range of historical buildings and sights, as well as a mix of modern and traditional shopping.
Quinta do Lago
Quinta do Lago is a unique resort in terms of its privileged setting and the fact that it has been developed with a strict low density building policy where only 8% of land can be built upon. The resort is set in nearly 1,594 acres of pine forests and lakes, bordered by white sand beaches and incorporates over 18 hectares of the protected nature reserve of Ria Formosa National Park. Two nature trails the Quinta do Lago trail (23km takes approx 40 minutes) and the São Laurenço trail (32 km takes approx 1 hour) are well marked, have enclosed bird watching areas and identification charts offering the chance for visitors to see a range of birds including pink flamingos, crested hoopoes, bee-eaters, kingfishers, blue magpies and purple gallinule that stop off on their long journey between Europe and Africa. These trails can be enjoyed whilst walking, running or even cycling.
For the active guest there is plenty of choice in terms of activities, the 3 km beach has been awarded a European Blue Flag in recognition of its water quality environment management and safety, with a permanent life guard presence in the summer months. The dedicated water sports centre offers jet skiing, banana rides, water skiing, kite surfing, scuba diving and speed boat tours of the Algarve coastline. Families with children may prefer to visit the lake to try water skiing, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing and where parents can sit and relax with a cold drink and a book at the famous Casa do Lago restaurant located on the lakeside.
The Jim Stewart Tennis Academy offers a wide range of coaching, training and competitions in daily, weekend and weekly packages from mini tennis for kids as young as four through to the professional player.
Quinta do Lago has 7 restaurants within its boundaries that all enjoy fantastic views whether over the Ria Formosa National Park, the Atlantic coastline or one of the fairways of the championship golf courses. At the entrance to the resort there are two shopping plazas, Quinta shopping and Bougainvillea Plaza that offer more choices for dining as well as boutiques supermarket bank newsagents English pub, the TClub that features a nightclub, a piano bar, a garden terrace and a Japanese restaurant.
Within the immediate vicinity to Quinta do Lago Amancil is the nearest town under a 10 minute drive away with more choice of restaurants, supermarkets, banks, shops and other amenities including the Go-karting track that was inaugurated by Ayrton Senna and is the direct replica of the Brazilian Formula 1 circuit, lawn bowls and horse riding, as well as Vale do Lobo, under a 5 minute drive away (a neighbouring resort) that offers more beach sports and entertainment options .
