The Algarve / Central Algarve region
Portugal occupies the South West part of the Iberian Peninsula and shares borders in the north and the east with Spain, while to the south and west lies the Atlantic Ocean. The country is divided into various provinces, including the Atlantic islands of Madeira and the Azores; the latter lying some 760 miles due west of Lisbon.
The Douro, Guadiana and Tejo (Tagus) rivers flow across the border from Spain. North Portugal is mountainous, the highest part being the Serra da Estrela. The vast plains of the Alentejo region stretch south of Lisbon. A range of mountains divides the Alentejo from the Algarve, which runs along the south coast, and is one of the most popular resort areas with wide sandy beaches and attractive bays.
The Quinta do Lago area
Vale do Lobo golf course which consists of 54 holes of fantastic golfing experience is located less than 10 minutes drive from the Property. Also, the stunning 18 hole San Lorenzo Golf Course set on the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve and Quinta de Lago North & South Championship Courses are within a short drive away.
If your golfing is a bit rusty there are a number of driving ranges in the vicinity to practice your swing!
If golf's not your thing you should go to the Jimmy Stewart or David Lloyd Tennis Centre’s, wind surfing, deep sea fishing, horse riding, sailing, go karting or many other facilities that can be found within a short drive of the Property.

The beach at Quinta do Lago is reached by crossing a long bridge over an estuary in the Ria Formosa Nature Park, and the lovely golden sands stretch along the coast to Vale do Lobo. The sandstone cliffs provide a beautiful backdrop to the wonderful sandy beach, which is excellent for both relaxing sunbathing and enjoying energetic family games. A convenient bar/restaurant serves up refreshments and meals, including freshly caught fish, right on the beach. Boat trips are available from the beach at Quinta do Lago, and it is also possible to charter a yacht.
