The Western Australia / Perth Metro Area

The fabulous city of Perth lies on the Swan River between the green hills of the Darling Range and the sparkling blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Perth and its suburbs are graced with an abundance of natural and man-made attractions; these together with the Mediterranean-like climate make this a popular destination for tourists.

Perth enjoys more hours of sunshine than any other capital city in Australia. Its warm climate and beautiful beaches ensure it is an increasingly popular destination with tourists.

There is good shopping available, plenty of waterside restaurants and cafes, a 24 hour world class casino, international quality golf courses, over 80 kilometres (50 miles) of white sandy beaches and a huge range of outdoor activities and experiences to enjoy.

If you have a passion for seafood and fine dining entertain your business partners or guests at the Zafferano Restaurant located at the historical Swan Brewery site overlooking the Swan River.

Perth is an ideal base from which you can explore the diverse surrounding attractions. Only minutes away, you can visit wineries offering fine wines and sumptuous lunches, swim with wild dolphins in their natural environment, holiday on an island and explore the colourful port city of Fremantle.

Fremantle, the seaport of Perth and home of the 1987 Americas Cup yacht race, is always a hive of activity. From colourful street entertainment and maritime activities, to the well-preserved heritage buildings and much more. It is an excellent day trip destination.

With a cultural diversity that reflects the city's proximity to Asia, Perth offers a tantalizing array of experiences unique to this part of the world.

Quinns Rocks is a 40km journey from Perth. Minutes away is the beautiful Mindarie Marina which has beautiful restaurants and is a perfect place for a beer or a glass of wine whilst watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean - Hillarys Harbour is a only a 30 min drive along the coast and has something for everyone one, water slides, safe bathing, shops, restaurants, & pubs. The award winning Joondalup Golf Course is only 15 mins drive. Swan Valley with its many wineries is great for the adults and the kids will love the Chocolate Factory and Supa Golf.

Western Australia has a modern public transport system incorporating buses, trains and ferries. Clarkson Station is a short 8km from the house and the train can whisk you to Perth, Fremantle or Mandurah. 2009 fares are reasonable with an all day ticket with unlimited travel costing about $AU9.00. You can use the same ticket to transfer to bus, train or ferry.

Quinns Rocks / Quinns Beach area

This seaside suburb takes its name from the offshore reef first noted during a coastline survey by Surveyor James Cowle in 1867. Although spelt with a double "n", the rocks are thought to have been named after Robert Quin who emigrated to Western Australia in 1863 and was appointed as an Assistant Surveyor on his arrival. Quin died in July 1886. The general area on the coast opposite the rocks was referred to as Quinns Rocks by the Wanneroo Road Board when they requested the survey of a road to that place in November 1925. Later the place also came to be called "Wanneroo Beach". Quinns Rocks was declared a townsite in 1962.

Quinns has a local cafe, deli, and parks. Portofinos restaurant is due to open later in the year.
Mindarie Marina is only a few minutes drive away. It has two water facing restaurants, pubs/cafes
There is two shopping centres, one at Butler and the other in Quinns; there is also the larger Ocean Keys Shopping Centre and Train Station is only a 5 minute drive. Joondalup City which has recently been extended is also only a 10 minute drive - fabulous place to shop

GUEST REVIEW - 29th April 2009

Dear Colin and Jo,

It was such a pleasure to stay at your wonderfully equipped beautiful home and we hope in the future we can repeat the pleasure.

Thank you so much for all the lovely care and attention you gave to us all particularly towards Alicia. She thoroughly enjoyed all the lovely distractions you had so kindly organised for her and continues to play with her beautiful Barbie doll which she has named Oceana in memory of her stay !

Equally my flowers are so beautiful and a constant reminder of our wonderful time and the most memorable effort you had both put into making our holiday a very special one and at such short notice. You make a wonderful team and we will not hesitate to recommend Le Chateau to friends and family.

Many many thanks once again. It was a pleasure to meet you. So sorry I never had the opportunity to speak to Jo but hopefully next time.

All the best with your future rentals!

Claire Lee and Alicia

GUEST REVIEW - 5th December 2008

To whom it may concern:

I wish to thank Colin & Jo of Blue Diamond Holiday Villas for a marvelous stay at their furnished flat in Victoria Park.

One could not ask for a better experience. I had the pleasure of staying in the flat for 2 months (there a month, home a month, there a month) in late 2008. In the entire time I was in the flat I couldn't find anything I needed that was not immediately supplied. Need a chair instead of a loveseat? Give me 5 minutes it'll be here. It was. Need a barbecue grill? Tomorrow morning. Zap! Want different plates and such? Next day. Shazam! Want the sun to shine on a cloudy day? Opps, can't do that.

Well furnished with telephone, high speed internet, fax/scan/printer, AC/heat unit. What else could one ask for? Just tell Colin or Jo, it appears.

My best to all and hope I return. It will be in a Blue Diamond Holiday Villa. Next best is home or Heaven!

GUEST REVIEW - 6th July 2008

Thank you Colin for the bond return. Please add following to your comments page.

We wish to thank the owners of the Chateau d' Ocean for allowing us to use their beautiful holiday house for our family surprise 60th birthday weekend. Because we have a large family now of children and grandchildren, and they live in different parts of Western Australia, we find it increasingly difficult to find a place to accommodate us all. The house is gorgeous and filled with everything you could possibly imagine. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed and the beds are extremely comfortable. The coffee machine, dishwasher etc made life a breeze. The children enjoyed the DVDs supplied and the adults enjoyed the movies and games. What made an everlasting impression on us was the thoughtfulness of the owners who had the dining table set up for a dinner party, balloons, gift and card waiting on a trestle table for my husband and a birthday message in magnetic letters on the fridge. Small touches, but very thougthful. Nothing was too much trouble for them even to the extent of putting in extra beds for our large family. We highly recommend this house to everyone who wishes to have an luxurious holiday on the beach.
