The Andalucia region
The Costa Blanca means "White Coast" due to its beautiful white sandy beaches and the European Blue Flag Award is not uncommon. It averages 320 days of sunshine a year making it an all year round holiday destination.
Due to the health giving properties of the salt lakes combined with climate, the World Health Organisation rates this area as one of the healthiest places in the world to live. Torrevieja has it all with its restaurants, clubs, casinos, bars and shps and has a pretty esplanade which stretches from the Marina.
The Marina has a range of watersportds, sailing, windsurfing, motor cruising, para gliding and jet skiing. Fishing, horseriding and walks are just a few other activities you can enjoy.
There are a host of art galleries, cathedrals, museums and monasteries to visit in places such as Murcia, Cartagena, Orighuela and Alicante.
There are markets every day of the week selling everything fom fresh produce to clothes, jewellary, arts and crafts and some good bargains are to be found.
The villa is situated a five minute drive into the main town of Quesada with all it's shops, bars and restaurants you can walk to the town within 25mins, it is situated a ten minute walk from the Quesada country club which has a pool, bar, restaurant and bowling.

The beautiful old town of Rajales, just a 5 minute drive away from the villa is a traditional farming village. Lying on the banks of the Segura River, water has played an improtant part in its past and present history. Present day Rojales has been able to combine its tradition and culture with a more modern life style and is a popular location for holiday homes and for people settling permanently in the area.
Also of great interest to visitors are the series of cave houses (El Rodeo), cut into hills south of the town during the 19th century which are now mostly used by artists and craftsmen with all the houses set out and numbered, there is also a cafe/bar and picnic area which is a great place to sit with a cold drink just taking in the atmosphere. These cave houses are signposted from the Aqua park and a ten minute drive away. While visiting the cave houses you must also visit the shell house, a testimony to one man's patience. Decorated over many years by Manuel Fulleda Alcaraz the house which is still lived in is covered in patterns of shells, mirrors and tiles.
Rojales holds a number of fiestas and festivals the most important being the 29th June in honour of its patron saint Pedro (Peter). Other important festivals are the Romeria de san Isidro during May and the Virgin Mary of the Rosary during October.
