The Catalunia region

Ribes's Valley is located in Ripollès's northwest and includes the towns of Campelles, Planoles, Pardines, Queralbs, Toses and Ribes Freser, the valley's economic capital. The environment's ecological richness is the area's main attraction, the water is present in every corner like source, like stream or like river.

The highs mountains's vegetation border the roads and the paths suitables for small excursions, and there are farm's animals, groves's an meadows's owners. Anywhere you can discover unexpecteds views. The architecture blends perfectly with the rural landscape and the witnesses's presence as peasant yards and shpherds's huts. But the Roman is more relevant in the Valley, from the monuments, the smalls churches, the medievals castles and the modernists buildings. The cuisine is rich in handicraft products such as the honey, the mets, the dairy products, the "daines", the cottage cheese, the sausages and the meat of the area. The Valley's idiosyncrasy has maintained a culture traditions's full and mountains's customs.

Queralbs

Queralbs (Catalan pronunciation: [k???a?ps]) is a municipality in the comarca of the Ripollès in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the Pyrenees to the north of Ribes de Freser, with the peaks of Puigmal (2909 m), Infern (2896 m) and Noufonts (2864 m). Tourism and hydroelectric generation are the bases of the local economy. The shrine of Núria is situated in the municipality, to the north of the village: it houses a romanesque marial image of la Mare de Déu de Núria. The shrine is reached by a rack railway from Ribes de Freser, which also serves the village. There is also a local road to Ribes de Freser (7 km, 4 miles), which serves the ski resort.

The first historical mention of Queralbs is in the consecration act of the church of the Urgell Diocese in 836--thus the town's motto, poble mil·lenari (millennial town)--and its Romanesque church, dedicated to Saint James[disambiguation needed], dates to the late tenth century.
