‘Armonija’ is a newly finished house at the outskirts of the beautiful village of Qala. The house is situated just above one of the many beaches to be found on the idyllic island of Gozo.
The house is minutes away from the ferry terminal and five minutes drive from Qala’s main sandy beaches of Hondoq ir-Rummien, San Blas and Dahlet Qorrot. Ramla l-Hamra, Gozo’s largest sandy beach is just ten minutes drive away.
The property has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6. The two main bedrooms, each with their own terrace offer the breathtaking panorama of countryside and the Mediterranean Sea. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with one of the main bedrooms also having a whirpool bath. On the ground floor one can also find another bathroom close to the living area.
The premises are designed on an old country house style. The ground floor is split on two levels where one can find a large living/dining area featuring massive limestone arches, in Maltese “?nejja”, a typical feature found in old local farmhouses, as one of the main archictectual features of the house. A modern stark white kitchen equipped with all modern cooking amenities stands to the side of the living area. A large dining table seating 8 people is situated on one side of this large room.
A big 4 seater sofa stands on another corner of the room. Opposite is a 42” LCD TV with Cable TV offering a variety of channels in several languages. Wireless internet coverage is also available throughout the whole area.
A big wooden/glass door at the back of the living area opens up to the pool and deck area. Typical Maltese rubble walls surround the property offering a truly Mediterranean experience and privacy without spoiling the majestic views. Wooden garden furniture, a BBQ set and deck chairs are situated close to the pool area for one to enjoy a truly relaxing holiday.
Adding character to the house are the stone stairways which lead to the first and second floor. The first floor houses two bedrooms and two other rooms leading to the bedrooms, which can be used as sitting rooms. Along the corridor one finds another stairway leading to a bedroom on the second floor.
This bedroom, being secluded from the rest of the house, offers more privacy and tranquility. Two glass doors lead to two terraces ; one offering views of country and sea while the other overlooking the court. A big spacious bathroom ensuite is complete with a whirpool tub. A 5kg washing machine and clothes line are found on one of the terrraces.
The house, decorated with country and modern fixtures, brings beauty, tradition and modern lifestyles together; so truly living up for its name ‘Harmony’, which simply translated in Maltese is ‘Armonija’

The Island of Gozo region
Gozo – covers an area of 67 km or 26 square miles, it is 9 miles long by 4 ½ miles wide and known as the sleepy island full of grace and charm. 's population is about 28.000 (approx).
Despite its compact size, Gozo has a lot to offer. Historical places can be found in an abundance, as a visit to the Ggantija temples is a must! It is believed that these temples are older than the Pyramids of Egypt in actual fact. They date back to 3.500 years B.C !
Gozo – Other places of interest include the museum of Archaeology in Victoria, which is full of archaeological remains and pre-historic artefacts.
The Citadel (Victoria 'Capital City'), the folklore museum in Gharb, Xerri's Grotto, Ninu's Cave and Calypso's Cave, which can be found in Xaghra. 'Ta Pinu' Sanctuary, where, at the turn of the century a local peasant woman had apparitions from Our Lady, is a very special and Holy Place.
Xewkija Dome dedicated to St. John the Baptist is, 'Ta Cenc' cliffs and Dolmens, the Azure Window, the Inland Sea and the Fungus Rock all in Dwejra, Ramla Bay one of the Maltese islands largest beaches with its unique orange coloured sand and the old part of Victoria are places to note and visit, whilst on the island of Gozo.
If you’re looking for a destination that offers more than just a suntan, Gozo will definitely deliver beyond your expectations!
The Qala / Qala Beach Village area
The village of Qala is rich in historical heritage and therefore has plenty to offer to its visitors. Situated towards the north east of the capital town of Victoria, Qala is encircled by the beautiful country side, secluded bays and a quaint village centre.
Should you fancy a day at the beach Ramla Bay with its unique honey-red sand is the largest and most popular beach on the island and can be reached by car in 5 minutes or try my favorite Hondoq beach with its restaurant/cafe/bar, white sand, clear waters and a full view of the island of Comino offers a wonderful day by the beach experience just 3 minutes drive away or walk to Dahlet Qorrot, which is a quiet bay close to Armonija Farmhouse.
The feast of Qala is celebrated on the first Sunday of August and is dedicated to the beloved patron Saint Joseph, at this time of year you will see the village decorated and see spectacular firework displays, where village succumbs to a wonderful vibrancy.
Amenities in Qala, range from;
• Several Quaint Bars/Restaurants (Foreigners most welcome)
• Alfresco Coffee Shops
• Bakery and Takeaway Food stores

"Fantastic villa, peaceful location, beautiful views"
This villa is huge, tastefully decorated throughout, even an en-suite hot tub attached to one of the bedrooms. The photos do not really show the many balconies and sheer height of entrance hallway and downstairs lounge which is quite impressive. The pool is smallish but perfectly adequate for cooling off, which as we stayed in August was a bit of a must! Kevin was most helpful, meeting us at the ferry point and guiding us back to the villa, which was just a five minute drive away. Qala is a peaceful rural location but is still close to all the main attractions and beaches due to the sialnd of Gozo being small anyway. I would recommend a car for getting around so that you can truly explore this wonderful place. Thanks Kevin and hope to return one day.

"Fabulous property, lovely location, incredibly accommodating owner!"
Armonija is almost exactly as described, only better! The house is very spacious, light and airy. We were a party of six, ranging in age from 21 to mid-60's, and the property lent itself to both communal living and having one's own space. It is beautiful, brand new and stylishly furnished, and well equipped. Being the first people to use it, we did miss those little 'extras' that accumulate in houses over time, but if we mentioned anything to the owner Kevin, we were sure to have it the next day! Kevin lives locally and was there to meet us on arrival and he was very helpful with information about the local area and suggestions of where to go and what to see. Qala is a lovely village, bigger than I had imagined, with a mix of housing. We walked to the square most days, where there are a couple of excellent general stores that seem to sell everything! There is also a pharmacy and a very good butcher. The walk only takes 10-15 minutes and whilst it is a bit of a hill on the way back, one of the stores does offer local deliveries if necessary! There is also a green grocer, baker and fishmonger we saw selling from their vehicles just outside the property. The two restaurants we tried ( there are 4 or 5 to choose from) offered fresh home made food and excellent service and the local Zeppi's bar is fun, with occasional live music. We barbecued quite a bit and ate out by the pool. The pool area is totally private, but the property is in a courtyard setting and attached, so we were aware of other people being around. But they all seemed very nice and we were never bothered by any noise. Hopefully we did not disturb them too much! The local bus service is very good but a car makes things much easier. We rented a jeep on the island from Eagle Garage and also used their taxi service for airport transfers. The owner Franky and his wife are great, really helpful and accommodating and their service is very competitively priced. Overall it was an excellent week and I will definitely stay again!
