Oak Cottage, within Carpenters Tinney Cottages, is set within a flowered courtyard with acres of valley fields where our small number of farm animals graze around the river Tamar meadows, the border between Devon and Cornwall.

At Carpenters Tinney there are three cottages, sleeping 2, 4 and Oak Cottage sleeping 5 people. (We also offer B&B accommodation at certain times of the year). Please go to the web link to see more details regarding B&B and the other properties.

Whether it be a family or couples holiday, "Carpenters" has an "away from it all" feel, with bird and wildlife in abundance, the many private footpaths around the land and the quiet flow of the River Tamar where 400 yards of trout fishing can be tried, or just have fun in the shallow waters.

The Devon region

Devon boasts not only great beach holidays but attractive scenery and wildlife too. Oak Cottage is on the border between Devon and Cornwall, therefore you get the best of both counties. You can visit the cities of Exeter, Plymouth or Turo, all approx. 1 hour away. Visit Boscastle and see how they have built theirselves back up after the flood a few years ago, or see King Arthurs castle at Tintagel. If you are into plant life The Eden Project is only an hour away but there are plenty or gardens nearer.

If you fancy a break from building sandcastles on the beach or surfing the waves you could try sailing / canoing at The Tamar or Roadford Lakes, walking the costal path, Dartmoor or cycling some of the cycle ways.
