The Larnaka District
Larnaca is a small seaside town with lined with restaurants, bars and cafes along its coast line. Nearly 95% of the beach is accessible to visit and bathe. Staying anywhere in Larnaca is close to the airport, so you don't have to worry about traveling far to get to and from there.
Larnaca offers different options regarding its night life. You have to check out McKenzie Area which is next to airport area. Here you can chill, drink, dance and socialize.
The apartment is situated just a ten minute drive away from the center of Larnaca. When we say the center we refer to the famous Phinikoudes sea front. Larnaca has many attractions such as religious historic buildings (St Lazarus church, Hala Saltan Mosque), Castle on the sea front, Salt Lake View, numerous fish restaurants and other traditional restaurants.
Larnaca offers a variety of options according to your preference whether it be simple or something more lively. Due to the summer season there is a positive energy from everybody which makes it even more exciting.
Even though Larnaca is the closest town, this doesn't mean you shouldn't venture out to other towns. Nicosia, the capital is very unique due to its structure. The old town is very popular these days, it is very ideal for strolling around and people watching. The old town of Nicosia has numerous cafes and bars and more importantly it is not expensive. There is so much to see and learn.
Ayia Napa/Protaras, are beach resorts located more east of Larnaca. The beaches here are really beautiful. These are only a 25 minute drive from the flat. You will definitely not regret visiting these beaches. Just a twenty minute drive you can reach the Ayia Napa Water Park, its a little expensive but no doubt you will have a brilliant day there.
Limassol also has much to offer. The old town of Limassol is quite big and you will find a good mix of quirky restaurants, Bars and cafes. Limassol is more trendy and arty than the other cities. Limassol has many ancient ruins to see, plus Castles.
Each town has its own unique characteristic which you will appreciate. Even though Cyprus is known for the sun and its beaches there is more to it than just that. Drive out to the villages up the mountains, the views are quite breathtaking and peaceful. There are numerous churches and mosques for you to visit.
I have extensive knowledge about things for you to do in Cyprus. Tell me your preference and i will try to recommend the best options for you. I have invested alot of time in getting to know the different towns, something which not a lot of people manage to do.
Larnaca has a fully functioning transport system, so those who don't have cars do not worry.
The actual area where the flat is situated is a prime location the reason being:
1. It is just eight minute walk to the beach or 50 second drive to the beach. The beach has its parking area so don't worry about where to put your car.
2. You have immediate access to the highway leading to other near by towns such as Ayia Napa/ Protaras, Nicosia and Limassol.
3. There is a small playing ground just opposite the flat where the kids can.
4. There is a pharmacy just round the corner.
5. There is a 24hr ATM machine just up the road.
6. There is a supermarket down the road, where they also sell fruit, vegetables and meat.
7. Just ten minute walk away from the flat you have a four star hotel. Here you can access its facilities, which include: tennis courts, swimming pool, snooker table etc. For more information on prices of these you may need to speak with hotel reception.
8. There are many bars in the area.
9. You have in just walking distance access to different restaurants.
10. More importantly a bus stop is situated just up the road, outside the hotel, which is just a walk away. So if you fancy heading into Larnaca Town for the day you may do so.
The area is quiet and safe, ideal for those who are use to living in busy areas or with families.
You don't need a car due to its prime location. But for those who will be renting a car, the apartment is just 30 seconds from the highway. So you have immediate access to get on the highway and visit other regions or areas.
The area you will be staying is literally a straight road from airport. It is very easy getting there.
