About the home

Garden Cottage is a lovely detached stone-built holiday cottage sited in large private gardens. The cottage is privately owned and very spacious sleeping up to 4 plus cot for baby. There are 2 double bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, fully equipped kitchen, utility room and luxurious bathroom.. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and immaculately maintained. An outdoor HydroSpa Jacuzzi hot tub is available for adults only. In the garden you will find a BBQ, terrace with garden furniture, ample private and secure parking for up to 2 cars plus a boat/trailer by arrangement. It's just a short drive to Pwllheli, Nefyn and Abersoch and all the amenities and attractions they each have to offer: golf, fishing, walking, cycling, coastal paths, unspoilt sountryside and scenery, beautiful beaches, shops, go-karting, leisure centres, watersports, marina, mountains, steam railways, National Trust properties, museums, childrens activity centres .................. the list is endless and your holiday can be as relaxing or energetic as you like.

Complimentary toiletries are a little welcome gift for all our lady guests and, if you choose to book the jacuzzi we provide soft luxury Bathrobes for you to use during your stay.

Wireless internet is provided free of charge between 18:00-21:00hrs so you can keep up with your emails and let everyone know how much you're enjoying your holiday.

You can spend endless days exploring the area - there's so much to see and do. It's just a few minutes drive to numerous sandy beaches and the local shops, the cottage is also just 4 miles from Pwllheli town. If you're feeling sporty there are several first class golf courses and fishing locations within easy reach - and if you prefer to relax with a glass in one hand and a delicious meal in front of you there are some lovely pubs and restaurants - so many you will be spoilt for choice! There's also numerous places of interest within easy reach and you'll find leaflets and info in the cottage......... your holiday can be as energetic or as relaxing as you wish.

We have worked hard to ensure that Garden cottage meets, and exceeds, all the holiday requirements for guests seeking quality holiday accommodation in beautiful surroundings. Along with comfort and quality the cottage offers privacy, peace and quiet, rest and relaxation.

Garden cottage is not specifically equipped for children, but a cot for a baby (up to 18 months) can be provided free of charge if required.
Pets are not accepted at Garden Cottage. Smoking is permitted in the garden areas but not inside the cottage.
Full week bookings run from Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks of 3 or 4 nights are available but must either start or end on a Saturday.

Facilities

Garden Cottage has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard with all the modern conveniences you could wish for, yet the cottage still retains its charm, character and numerous original features.

The Living Room offers you every creature comfort with a large cosy sofa and armchair, exposed beams, an Inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, exposed granite walls with French windows to the garden. For those relaxing evenings after your day at the beach there is a flat screen TV with Sky Freesat, DVD Player and Hi-Fi Stereo. A selection of books and dvd films is provided, along with a basket of logs to get your first cosy evening underway.

The fully fitted kitchen provides ample storage and houses a full range of cookware and crockery. The solid elm work tops were hand crafted from a tree which stood in the garden and the high vaulted beamed ceiling, together with the real slate floor make this a lovely room to create culinary masterpieces. Your task is made easier by the huge range cooker which has 7 gas hob burners, large grill, two electric ovens and a slow-cooker built in. The dishwasher will do all the washing up for you!

The spacious Dining Room offers a 6 seating table and (of course) a Welsh dresser, and when a romantic meal for two is planned the exposed beams and granite fireplace create the ideal ambiance.

The Utility Room contains a freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a cloakroom with WC which also houses an LPG combi-boiler providing hot water and central heating.

Garden Cottage offers comfortable sleeping accommodation for up to 4 guests, plus a cot for young baby which can be provided free of charge (Please bring cot bedding). Both bedrooms have recently been decorated and are fully furnished with solid wood furniture. The very spacious master bedroom is furnished with a huge king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, large wardrobe and a large cupboard with drawers and vanity mirror. All bed linen is provided. The second bedroom is also spacious and is furnished with a double bed and a folding single bed, bedside table and lamps, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers with vanity mirror. There is a lovely original cast iron fireplace (not functional).

Further details outdoors:
The cottage is sited at the centre of large, mature gardens. Gardening enthusiasts are sure to enjoy all the mature plants, shrubs and trees - and spend hours trying to identify them all.
A wonderful outdoor hot tub is available for guests own private use. You can enjoy alfresco dining on the terrace or light the BBQ for a special feast.
If you wish to bring bicycles with you there is a cycle rack to keep them safe, as well as a secure outbuilding for safekeeping of your sports equipment, kayaks etc.

Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage, but you are welcome to smoke in the garden areas, outdoor ashtrays are provided.
Pets are not accepted.
Gas and Electricity are payable via £1 coin meters, so you only pay towards what you use.
The hot tub is available for adult use only (over 18's). The charge for the hot tub is £50 per week or £30 per short break.
A non-refundable deposit of just £100 per week secures your booking. The balance is payable 6 weeks before arrival, together with a £200 refundable damage deposit. This will be returned to you within 7 days of your departure providing the cottage is left undamaged and cleaned prior to departure.
We are happy to offer short breaks of 3 or 4 nights outside the school summer holidays. Short breaks must either start OR end on a Saturday. Please contact me for short break prices.

Check In from 3pm on arrival day. Check out by 10am on departure day.

Guests with restricted mobility: There is one flight of stairs in the cottage and two small steps in the kitchen. Please contact me with any queries.
Guests with Children: The cottage stairs have an open banister without spindles (please see photos). Due to the age and style of the cottage it is not possible to put a stair gate across the stairs. A travel cot is available for a baby up to apx 18 months old, free of charge, please bring all cot bedding as this is not supplied.

The North Wales / Snowdonia/Gwynedd region

Garden Cottage is located in Boduan, near Pwllheli, Nefyn and Abersoch, at the heart of the Lleyn Peninsula, North Wales.
Wales is famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys. This picturesque country has something for everyone. Snowdonia National Park is a short drive from Garden Cottage and boasts breathtaking mountain scenery, crystal clear lakes and cascading waterfalls. Climb Snowdon, which at 1085m is Wales’ highest mountain, or travel to the summit in relaxing style on the charming Mountain Railway.

Alternatively, why not visit the beautiful green valley of Llangollen by steam train or from a leisurely horse-drawn canal boat. In July, the annual Llangollen Eisteddfod transforms the town into a unique centre of international music and dance, attracting musicians and singers from across the globe.You could also explore the beautiful coastline, safe sandy beaches and watersports of the Lleyn Peninsula, as well as Colwyn Bay, historic Conwy, Victorian Llandudno or the Isle of Anglesey on the north coast.

Garden Cottage is the ideal base from which to explore the Lleyn Peninsula and the whole of North Wales. There are no traffic jams here so driving from place to place is quick, easy and sress-free. Of course you may well set off with a destination in mind and find yourselves getting diverted by a breathtaking view, a picturesque village or a delightful venue for lunch. No matter, there's always tomorrow ....... and if you find you haven't managed to fit everything in to your holiday, you'll have a good excuse to come back again, and again!

The Pwllheli / Lleyn Peninsula area

The hamlet of Boduan is located at the very heart of the beautiful, unspoilt Lleyn Peninsula, apx 5 miles from Pwllheli. There are just a handful of houses and farms within the hamlet so your peace and privacy is assurred. The quiet lanes and open countryside offer endless options for cycling and walking, and for the more energetic there is Garn Boduan mountain, you can walk up to the summit and enjoy breathtaking views of the whole peninsula.
There is a vast array of activities available including fishing, golf, horse riding, go-karting, climbing, the list really is endless. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches too! Numerous sandy beaches in every direction........ you could stay for a couple of weeks and still have much more to explore next time you visit!

The busy market town of Pwllheli is the unofficial capital of the Lleyn Peninsula, one of the most scenic regions of Wales and a magnet for visitors from across the world. Renowned for its spectacular scenery, stunning coastal walks, excellent beaches and golf courses, the town is very much a traditional seaside town offering a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and an impressive marina. The town has two beaches, one of which holds a coveted Blue Flag award and is renowned for its sailing and water sports facilities. Close to the town are Criccieth, dominated by a spectacular medieval castle, and Abersoch, a pretty harbour town also well known for its beaches and water sports facilities. Most of the peninsula has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and much of the coastline is owned by the National Trust. With wildlife centres, NT properties, castles and the stunning backdrop of the Snowdonia mountains, the Pwllheli area is a perfect location for anyone looking to explore this beautiful part of Wales.

Garden Cottage is located in the quiet hamlet of Boduan, along the A497 apx 4 miles from Pwllheli and slightly less from Nefyn.
There is easy road access from all parts of the UK.
The nearest train station is Pwllheli.
Ferries from Ireland arrive at Holyhead which is apx 1 hours drive from the cottage.
The number 8 bus stops a short distance from the cottage and offers an hourly service to both Nefyn and Pwllheli as well as the other villages in the area.

“A Amazing weekend.” What a lovely cottage, in a ideal setting for a young family to explore the welsh countryside, and relax in the evening. An amazing cottage with everything you would need to be able to cook and fantastic meals in a remote area.

“Fantastic!!” We had a wonderful holiday in Garden Cottage (despite the weather not always being as we would have liked!) We went with our daughter and son-in law who also thought the cottage was amazing. Everything you needed was available, and the hot tub was fantastic. It was lovely coming back after a day out and relaxing with a drink surrounded by a beautiful, well-kept garden. Wendy and Geoff were a lovely couple who gave us a really nice welcome and were very helpful with advice and recommendations of places to eat etc. Our daughter said it was the best holiday she had ever had!!
