About the home

The gite is brick built structure on a terrace overlooking the River Lot. It has recently been restored to a high standard with new kitchen, bathroom, doors windows and decking. It combines the luxury of a Gites with that traditional fun feel of a campsite. In high season we offer entertainment for young and old alike. With guided walks, tournaments of petanque, volly-ball and water polo and children's activities.

The campsite remains calm and tranquil even in high season. We have all the facilities you would expect of a campsite, huge pool, laundry facilities, children's playground etc. We are happy to help you make the most of your stay and have details of walks that explore the fantastic countryside of vines, sunflowers and farmland. A warm welcome is guaranteed.

The gite has been completely renovated this winter.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
The bathroom has a sink, shower and loo. The kitchen has plenty of cupboard space, a gas cooker, microwave, fridge and sink. The living room has an inside dining table (for 5). The decking area has a table and 5 chairs that can be set up under cover if necessary. It only rains occasionally here so the BBQ should get some use. We have washing machines, dryers etc available on the campsite. The weather is such that most living is done al fresco so although the gite is quite small, there is enough for a family of 5 to live very comfortably. We have a large swimming pool and many families swim in the river Lot which runs down the side of the campsite. You'll be able to see them from your balcony.

The campsite has a volley-ball court, petanque court, bar, children's playground, canoe hire and places to fish and swim. In high season there is a snack bar and a place to order wonderful French bread. It is arranged with the Gite on the a terrace overlooking the campsite and the river. There is plenty of shade as the site is dotted with large, old trees. The bar offers cold drinks, even colder ice-creams and games for the children.

There is a covered terrace on which to enjoy these. The huge pool is 22m x 8m, so seldom busy. Out of high season you can often have it to yourself. It is open 15/5 - 15/9.

In high season we rent Saturday to Saturday. Outside July and August we can be more flexible and also do shorter stays. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Lot region

The Lot valley is an unspoilt, wine-growing region of rural France. Sufficiently far south to get a very agreeable climate it is not crowded even in summer. The pace of life seems slower here, keeping time with the vine growing seasons. The stunning countryside provides a great area to explore on foot, by motorcar or even on horseback. With the large River Lot flowing majestically past the campsite you can fish, swim, canoe and play in it. Of course you might prefer to take a glass of wine and spend some time just watch it flow past (I know I do). There are lots of activities to do and p[laces to visit, from beautiful "Bastide" towns to caves with underground rivers. We can direct you to quality wine makers who are happy for you to taste their products.

The Puy l'Eveque / Touzac area

Touzac is a small village next to the River Lot. There is a three day fete on the 3rd weekend of July with a fair. vide grenier and the all important petanque competition.

The area is fantastic for hiking and exploring. There is a great castle at Boneguil which holds medievel events. There are lots of beautiful towns, notably Puy L'Eveque which has a fantastic firework display in August.

Montcanbrier has a night market once a week in summer where you can buy each course of your meal from different vendors. We have caves to explore, tree climbing parks and even microlight flights. The staff here will be happy to help you make the most of your stay.
