The Canary Islands region
Lanzarote is situated just 79 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.
Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination.
As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, many parts of Lanzarote appear to be from another world, often described as 'lunar' or 'Martian'.
The dry climate (and lack of erosion) means that the Volcanic Landscape appears much as it did just after the eruptions.
Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long and includes the La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua.
The village of Punta Mujeres is located on the north-east coastline of Lanzarote adjacent to Arrieta. The property is situated on the seafront which is just a few metres from the door. The streets and paths hug the coastline so you are never far from the water. A variety of beaches and sea pools are scattered throughout the village. Lanzarote is a small but beautiful varied island with volcanic black or white sandy beaches and breathtaking views. Along the nearby coasts are numerous beaches, sand dunes, the port of Orzola, and volcanic rock waterfronts. The tourist attractions of Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Rio, Cuevas de los Verdes, the Cactus Gardens of Guatiza, and palm trees of Haria are only a few miles away. Further afield there are the main tourist resorts of Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen, the capital city, Arrecife, wine fields of La Geria, Timanfaya volcano and the creative works of Cesar Manrique. There is magnificent varied land scape through the island.

"What a wonderful Holiday."
The apartment was wonderful and the location was out of this world. We had the most relaxing holiday and certainly would come again. Di and Doug were always on hand in case we needed any information about the island. Would recommend the apartment to all our friends.

"Beautiful Apartment with rooftopbTerrace overlooking the sea"
The location of this apartment is stunning, with a rooftop terrace that overlooks the sea. The apartment is gorgeous, and very comfortable with all the mod cons and conveniences of home. The view of the sea and the gentle lapping of the waves provides a beautiful backdrop that is quite unique. The town itself is laid back with mostly locals that seem to go about their daily lives at a gentle pace with a friendly smile for the visiting tourists. We adjusted our body clocks as the village has a 'family club' where everyone is welcome. The youngsters can play football and there are often games of boules going on, alongside adults and children of all ages playing cards, having a drink and just generally socialising together. It was very refreshing to be in such a family orientated environment with no trouble, just the sound of young and old enjoying themselves. We used to go out for a jog in the morning and stop for a coffee at Bar Piscine (which appears to be the local hub of the town), on the way back. Its also a perfect spot for swimming which we did on many an occasion. There are restaurants in Punta and in the nearby village which is a very pleasant 15 minute walk away. There is a lovely coastal walk to Jameos del Agua which we enjoyed and plenty of towns to explore - Haria has a bustling market which has local crafts and preserves and is only a few minutes drive away. We also found a very nice restaurant there run by a Dutch guy, sorry I can't remember the name as we found so many lovely places to eat at. There is a bus service although we had no need to use it as we had hired a car. We had a fantastic holiday here, the locals were friendly and there were very few other Brits which ensured we really got a taste of the Canarian Island. Doug and Di ( the owners) were extremely helpful advising us about the local area and things to see and do. we would definitely recommend it and are going again!

We booked this rental property for a week in October. When we arrived we were horrified to discover that we weren't able to gain access because the information we had been given was inaccurate and misleading. It contained non-existent contact numbers and when we tried to contact the owner, we found the contact number for them was also non-existent. Because we had arrived late in the evening we had no option other that to spend the night in the hire car, we drove 30 mins to the capital and spent 2 hours late at night looking for available hotel accommodation. This was a very stressful and unpleasant start to the holiday. We only had email address of the owner and had to use an internet cafe to contact them. When we finally did get access to the rental on the second day we found the following: - main door hardly opened more than a few inches, so really difficult to get suitcase through the door! - the WIFI which was very important to us because we needed to stay in contact with our business, only worked for the first day, and then for the rest of the week, it was painfully slow which made it impossible to use, or didn't work at all. - the photos advertising the property were very misleading. The terrace that was shown in the photos was only available to the upstairs apartment and not the downstairs apartment. - there was a large dubious stain on the bed cover which wasn't very welcoming! - the shower had only just enough water for 2 people - the toaster was faulty and didn't work at all On returning home, when we contacted the owner to ask for them to pay us back the extra expenses we incurred for the first night when we couldn't access the property, they refused and said it wasn't their problem at all and didn't want to know.
First of all we regret the mixup with the instructions. The key was left for the guests but unfortunately the only email address we had was through Holiday Lettings. We emailed the instructions to the guest but due to a problem with Holiday Letting's system the attachment with the instructions according to the guest never reached him. We did request the guest's contact details but the booking form sent to him asking for his details was never returned to us. The front door can get a bit of sand caught under it but normally a good push clears it. To say it only opens a few inches is totally inaccurate as it does open fully. As far as we knew the wifi in the apartment worked fine. The guest had our contact details and that of our rep but as far as I know did not contact either of us. However due to the location it can occasionally be intermittent. We have stayed at the apartment for long periods and have had very few problems. The router is less than a year old. We have not been informed of any stains on any bed covers. If this were the case and we were contacted we would have replaced it immediately. The apartment has it!s own large hot water heater and provides hot water 24 hours a day. We do not understand his complaint on this as the booking was only for 2 persons. We have been informed that one of the toasters in the apartment was faulty. As we provide a toaster and kettle in both the kitchen and on the terrace this shouldn't have been a significant problem. There are 2 toasters. In no way are the photos misleading other than understating the beauty of the location. The property he booked was the first floor apartment with roof terrace. That is the apartment he stayed in. I don't understand why he even made this statement as the ground floor apartment is on a separate listing. We have been in contact with the guest over his claim on numerous occasions. We were in contact with him during his stay and since his return to the UK. This was by text and email. We find this review to be very unreasonable and does not accurately describe the apartment. His assessing the apartment as a 1 testifies to this. Our feedback and other reviews contradict this.

"Beautiful sea views"
We had a wonderful week enjoying amazing views, airy open plan living and a sunny terrace with cooling breezes. The children could swim and play in the nearby sea pools and play areas and we found some reasonable and family friendly cafes and restaurants in the Canarian village of Punta Mujeres. We also recommend the sandy beach in Arriete and a boat trip to La Graciosa. We loved the location and will be back next summer to chill out and wind down!
