We have just returned from a 21 day holiday in Serenity Villa. The Villa was beautiful and was more like a home than a holiday villa.
The view was amazing and so very peaceful. Probably the most relaxing holiday we have had.
Punta Gorda has lots to offer - is very clean, safe and the people very friendly.
There are some lovely waterfront walks and the local parks are a joy. There is an abundance of wild life which we enjoyed, especially from the Villas boat dock and from trips we had on the river.
The men enjoyed playing lots of different golf courses and made lots of friends with other golfers.
Fishing from the dock was good and some great fish were caught all within 20 feet from the pool.
We enjoyed trips to Venice, Naples, Sannibel and Captiva etc which are all within easy driving distances away and are all interesting and have good beaches.
We would like to thank Caroline and John for sharing their
beautiful home with us - we would go back tomorrow!!!
Lovely home, great area, very friendly and helpful neighbours all in
all a fantastic holiday.

As a retirement present to ourselves, we decided to look for a rental property in Florida, and found Serenity Villa. It looked lovely, and the reviews were encouraging. We duly booked four weeks in January 2011 and could hardly wait for the day to arrive.
The minute you drive into Punta Gorda Isles you know that this area is something special. The house itself was amazing. So much more than we had hoped for. Spotlessly clean; well appointed; tastefully decorated; everything that you could possibly need was provided. And that bed! The most comfortable we have ever slept in.
A lovely touch was the bottle of wine left as a welcome gift.
Loads of linen and towels, including beach towels. The really nice touch was a telephone call from John, asking us if we had settled in and was there anything he could do to make our stay better.
We spent our days relaxing in the lanai, by the pool, and on the boat dock, watching the world go by. Pelicans, herons, ibis, sea eagles, stingray, trout and even a dolphin. Heaven, with only the sound of the water and a few boats going by. George fished everyday, and had a little blue heron for company each time.
The neighbours were so friendly and helpful. The house with the lighthouse, across the water, was such fun to look at, day and evening.
The Saturday Farmers Market downtown was great, and on Sundays there is a small market at the History Park on Shreve (2 mins drive).
We enjoyed the Torch restaurant, and Phil's was great as well.
Boca Grande was a great place to visit, as was Naples. Plenty of shopping in Port Charlotte, or Fort Myers.
Magnolia Landings is highly recommended for golfers. Along the 41 towards Fort Myers.
Go down to the Peace River Wildlife Centre for amazing birds and sunsets.
This was, without doubt, the best holiday we have ever had, and it was really all down to this wonderful house and area.
Finally, if you are driving from Orlando, use the I.4 and I.75 'fast' route and not the 'direct' route across central Florida. Its longer but much easier and quicker.
Thank you John and Caroline, we will definitely be booking again.

Serenity Villa - Fabulous Accomodation
JR. Blackwood, Wales UK
My husband and I stayed at the villa Dec. 2010. The accomodation was as fab as it looks in the photos with everything you need for a long stay. It was extremely clean on our arrival with a bottle of wine to greet us as well as supplies of tea/coffee etc. John, the owner, rang from the UK on our arrival to ensure everything was OK and we were able to communicate with him by e-mail as well. We were there during Christmas & neighbours had some wonderful light displays. Although the area has many houses it was very quite at night time so sleeping was undisturbed. Master bedroom is large, airy with a large TV and a very, very comfortable bed.. Master bedroom had large walk in shower & also one downstairs as well. Plenty of sheets/towels/teatowels supplied & washing machine/dryer were very good.
The broadband connection was fantastic - quicker than in the UK and John advised about purchasing a phone card so I was able to speak to all the family over Christmas & New Year for just $10 - really good value. Plenty of DVD's,books & games available.
My husband loved the fishing off the dock & he used the rods available at the home as well as the one he brought as well. He had a fantastic time catching a huge variety of fish -including trout, snook, tarpon etc - he advises others to use live shrimp & spinners also worked well. We also saw the dolphins go past a few times & that was great. The heated pool was larger than most we have experienced and shallow at one end, so ideal for children .
I certainly would recommend the house to anyone with the proviso that if you have small children they would need to always be supervised down by the dock . Thank you John & Caroline for a wonderful stay, we will definitely return.

What an awesome place. We arrived to find the villa far surpassed any of our expectations - it was spotlessly clean and had lots of personal touches and we immediately felt 'at home'. Was very impressed by the fact that John rang us to check all was OK. Spent much time just sitting on the dock watching the fish jump - how relaxing. We have holidays for many years in Florida and although we have stayed in many villas this far outshone any of the previous ones.
Our only disappointment was the fact that we are unable to book for next year as our holidays dates have already been taken - that says something about the popularity of ths place but we hope to return in the not too distant future and would rnot hesitate to recommend this to anybody
Thanks again John and Caroline for allowing us to share your little piece of paradise

What an amazing fortnight. Villa spotless and luxurious. Pool, gardens excellently maintained. John rang on the monday to see if everything was OK. A nice touch we thought. Deposit repaid quickly. . We were dissappointed not to see any manatees but however we did spot an alligator swimming by. How cool is that! Florida in general very quiet as we visited in July/August. Weather up at 100, amazing storms during evenings but quickly passed. Car is advisable if you wish to visit stunning beaches such as Boca Grande, Englewood. Turtle nests on the beach. Busch gardens and Everglades worth a trip.
We always say that we would not go to the same place twice, however when we got home we found that Serenity Villa was booked up 2011. This goes to show that John and Caroline run an extremely coveted villa. Good luck to them both and thankyou. Serenity by name, Serenity by nature

My wife and I have just returned from our stay in Punta Gorda at the wonderful Serenity Villa.
We both really enjoy what Florida has to offer and have been vacating in the sunshine state for many years. In that time we have stayed at countless villas in lots of varied locations, both north and south and have come to expect the accommodations to be of a high quality - so I hope you do not think us as being contrary when we say that our expectations of Serenity Villa were already set high before we arrived.
However, we obvioulsy did not set them anywhere near high enough as we were literally blown away by the location demanded by and facilities on offer at this fantastic waterside luxury home. Furthermore, John and Caroline (the lucky owners) could not do enough to make our stay even more pleasurable.
In fact, we were so impressed we actually booked to come again in 2011 within three days of being there!
We are now counting the days until we can lounge on the private jetty in the sunshine and watch the boats go by, the Stingrays playing and the Tarpon fish jumping through the air and splashing down some considerable distance later. We were also fortunate enough to see Dolphins passing by no further than 8 feet from where we lay....amazing!
The Punta Gorda Isles are a perfect place to relax and whilst it is quiet there are a number of places to eat for various palates a short distance away - Fishermans Village is definitely worth a visit. There is also a Publix supermarket just down the road and those who like to sometimes stay in and eat or make use of the BBQ around the swimming pool whilst watching the sunset are in for a treat.
Port Charlotte and Ft Myers are within driving distance and we would recommend a visit to the pristine white sand beaches at Boca Grande and the wonderful restraurants in Captiva on Sanibel island.
We don't normally write reviews, but felt compelled to do so for Serenity Villa - we hope you get to enjoy it too

My husband and myself have just spent two months in this beautiful home. What a view! The neighbours are wonderful people. The town of Punta Gorda still has it's old world style but with all the amenities you need. There are many excellent restaurants. Our favourite being Santinis. Great food and terrific owners. We have stayed in many lovely homes but Serenity Villa has something special. We thank Caroline and John for sharing their Florida home with us
Simply the best

There’s nothing to be said that hasn’t already been written about Serenity. I concur with all that’s been said and endorse every word of praise others have given. The dreams and aspirations of everyone who takes a holiday in Florida are encapsulated in this film star home. Dreams and reality often part ways but not here. Close your eyes and dream of a holiday home - that’s Serenity. … and yet the brightest stars are John and Caroline, their neighbours and friends; they are the ingredient which takes this villa to a different dimension. Anyone who has stayed in Serenity will return - we will.
Thank you John and Caroline
Thank you John and Caroline, our holiday spent at your villa was most comfortable with that beautiful view every morning over the water. We have been many times to Florida and your villa was by far the best that we have stayed at. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Serenity at its best
This Villa is perfectly named as we had a fabulous, restful holdiay here in Punta Gorda. The villa is beautiful, very comfortable, spotless and just as decribed in the advert and photographs. It is the perfect retreat for any holiday. John and Caroline were very friendly and helpful, providing us with all the information we needed for a great stay. We would definitely recommend the Villa to friends and will have no hesitation in returning ourselves at sometime in the future.

Easter in beautiful Waterfront Villa
We loved this villa. The house was spotless, lots of room and light, lovely master bedroom upstairs, everything we needed was to hand and chosen with taste. The pool is a good size, friendly neighbors and interesting waterway to watch from the deck.Sons very happy with big TV and internet access too. Very peaceful and relaxing holiday. Punta Gorda has character, good places to eat out, hire boats, cycle , walk etc.

An excellent holiday
Serenity Villa was more than expected. It looks lovely in the photographs but even better when you get there. A very luxurious and welcoming home away from home. Very well maintained and spotless. In a quiet area but near enough to restaurants and shops, especially the outlets! Suitable for all types of holiday, couples, families or groups of friends. I would have no problem recommending this to anyone.
Thank you for an enoyable relaxing break

A small piece of paradise
Even though we arrived in the dark at the property, the first impressions were fantastic. You always wonder if the rental house will live up to the write-up - we were not misled. In fact the house surpasses it, with the decor and the setting. Our visit coincided with Thanksgiving and the start of the festive seasons, so we were treated to displays of fairylights along the waterways by our neighbours. Our stay was just what was required, just lazing in a sunny, peaceful and very relaxing setting. We can't wait to return next year.

Thank you John & Caroline for the use of your fantastic home. We visit Florida a lot and have always rented Luxury Villa's. This villa is one of the best we have ever rented. As the name suggests this home is total peace and quiet. We were looking for a total "chill out holiday" and we found it at Serenity Villa.
The villa was immaculate, with everthing you would need, even down to fishing rods and equipment, cycles and helmets and inflatable toys for the pool. The advert for the house said it had the best view in Punta Gorda and it more than justified this boast. I spent many hours fishing from the boat dock catching a vast array of fish.
Wonderful holiday, Fantastic location, even better than the photo's show, you would have to see this villa to believe how good it really is. Also need to mention that the bed in the Master bedroon is the biggest and most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. We will definitely be going back and would highly reccommend this piece of Paradise to anyone. Pure Heaven.
