Self-catering holidays in the gorgeous Welsh region of Pembrokeshire are to be savoured and this will almost certainly be the case with this lovely property. Awel y Coed is a one bedroomed, single-storey cottage located in the peaceful village of Puncheston. The property is surprisingly roomy and fully accessible to wheelchair users. The main living areas enjoy a convenient and light-filled open-plan layout and guests will find the charming small patio area accessed by French doors in the lounge and overlooking a mature and wildlife-rich garden area a positive delight. The property offers oil central heating, off-road parking for two cars and guests are welcome to utilise the lovely external garden areas which extend to approximately 3.5 acres courtesy of the owners, who live adjacent. The property is not appropriate for young children as the garden area contains a number of ponds. The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
This is an area of mountains, sea and national park and somewhere that has been attracting holidaymakers for many years. Pembrokeshire Coast national Park in the south west is a favourite holiday destination, with miles of coastal footpaths and wonderful seascapes; lots of Blue Flag beaches and seas rich in marine life. Further east Carmarthenshire also has lots to attract holidaymakers, with historic castles, mountains, rivers and of course coastline. No matter where you choose your never too far away from mountains and the sea and of course there is the thriving cities of Cardiff and Swansea to visit, where you'll find lots of first class shops, cafes and restaurants.
Pembrokeshire richly deserves its recent accolade ‘ as the second best coastal destination in the entire world' as voted by the prestigious National Geographic Magazine. The latter were obviously extremely impressed by the region's breathtakingly beautiful coastal walks and dramatic, unspoilt coastline. Guests staying at Awel y Coed are extremely well placed to explore this sublime landscape. Walkers should head for the nearby Preseli Hills without delay and take time to fully absorb the fantastic views over Cardigan Bay. The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park has an amazing range of super walks and gorgeous beaches and visitors are simply spoilt for choice. A wonderful place to start would be the ‘cliff-hugging' and much loved Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which meanders alongside a wondrous seascape. Nearby Fishguard, only eight miles away, has an excellent range of amenities and an interesting harbour and quayside area that is well worth a visit.
