The downstairs shower is 6ft 5 inches (196cm) high and 75cm wide. It has a full size toilet and sink. The cottage is very old, so height varies from room to room...please be aware there are low beams and thresholds in the cottage, especially the doorways upstairs.

The village of Nutbourne is mentioned in the Domesday Book as 'knutu burna' meaning 'nuts over a stream'. Not many place names that we use today appear in the Domesday Book, making the few that have survived very special.

NYETIMBER in West Chiltington, is one of England's highest-profile sparkling wine producers. Frequently served up at royal events, it was chosen for the Queen's barge during the Diamond Jubilee pageant. The vineyard is a short walk from the cottage and covers over 400 acres of rolling English countryside.

Dyke farm shop is a 8 minute walk where they have a variety of local products including: milk, bread, jams, preserves, oils and marinades, plus mouth watering home-made cakes, pies and quiches.

Our wonderful local pub, The Rising Sun is a short walk from the cottage and still runs as a 'free-house' where you can get a quick snack or hearty home-made meal. Live music every-other Tuesday.

South Downs Way, including Cissbury Ring, Chanctonbury Ring, Seven Sisters and Beachy Head. There are many lovely walks in the South Downs National Park straight from the front door of the cottage, including to Amberley, Arundel, Washington and Storrington.

Fishers Farm Park (6 miles) is the award-winning family visitor attraction located on the edge of the South Downs National Park. Open all year- a must for anyone with younger children!

"We felt like being in a different world"

Thanks to the exact directions from Tracey it wasn't too difficult to find the property. At first sight we were overwhelmed by the loveliness of Goat Cottage. Entering the cottage took our breath - everything was arranged so nicely, the rooms were perfectly clean and cosy, and the old desk in the bathroom was just amazing.
Kitchen equippment was perfect, and a herd of cows were welcoming us!
We really felt like being in heaven!
We can only recommend this lovely cottage to everyone who is looking for peace and quiet in a wonderful surrounding.
A million thanks to Tracey !

Thank you for your lovely comments, it makes all the hard work worth while when we get such positive, kind feedback. Thank you for the lovely photos of you all enjoying the cottage, they are great to see. In the 2 years we have been letting the cottage, we have strived to get the layout and facilities right for all age groups..from a 4 day old baby to a 98 year old (our youngest and eldest guests so far!)and hope we have acheieved that. We have been overwhelmed by all the fantastic emails, reviews & comments in the guest book. You are very welcome back anytime, thank you for being such wonderful guests! Best wishes, Tracey, Tim and children x

"Quaint but disappointing."

First I have to say that the property is very quaint and set amongst beautiful countryside. The kitchen was very well appointed and had all necessary appliances. One of the reasons we chose this pro… More

Dear guests, very sorry to hear you were disappointed with some aspets of the cottage. We do clearly say the beds can be changed from a kingsize to a twin, but as you weren't needing the 2nd upstairs bedroom, we didn't really need to ask if you would prefer twin or kingsize bed.The photo is of exactly the same room, with caption explaining twin or king option, we have no reason to pretend we have more rooms than we have. The heating control is as mentioned on the details, its in the dining room and you can control the heating as you like. We do not know where the bedside lamp went on your visit, but it is back in that room now. There are lamps and lights all over the cottage and night lights for our guests. The single bedroom does not have en-suite facilities and is as advertised. With regards to parking, it is a private, small country lane which we explain to all our guests and with the google maps link I sent you, you would be able to see that quite clearly. Parking is listed as one car and restriced for a 2nd, removing the wall to the property doesn't really seem to be a sensible solution, leaving the whole property open to the lane! We think we are actaully very lucky to have parking on site as many cottages of this age are on busy roads.
We sent your welcome emails and departure goodbyes and sadly you never voiced one single concern, what a shame!Best regards, Goat Cottage

We are so pleased you had a lovely Christmas in Goat Cottage and luckily the power stayed on in those terrible storms! We do hope that the dimensions of the cottage are accurately described and the price reflects the quality of a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage in an idyllic location. We hope to welcome you back in the near future. Warm wishes, Tim, Tracey and family

Thank you Louisa!
We are so pleased your enjoyed your stay! A road without a name is always a challenge!! The goats left about 100 years ago - probably best as they can be a bit smelly! We hope your family made their flight from Gatwick and look forward to welcoming you again one day.

"Wonderful location"

Goat Cottage is in a lovely rural spot backing onto delightful fields, but is also very accessible to many great places mostly within about half an hour's drive - such as Amberley, Arundel, Singleton (Weald & Downland museum) and Chichester to name but a few. There are great footpaths and the RSPB nature reserve at Pulborough Brooks is very close too. We loved having breakfast out on the patio which caught the sun in the morning. We would love to return as we quickly felt that Goat cottage was "home".
