About the home

The jewel in the crown! 15 minute drive from Buzet, but once you arrive you feel as if you have left all evidence of town life far behind. Designed with luxury as its core value. Everything from its interiors, furnishings, views, pool, beds and kitchen is outstanding. The floors, lighting and furnishing are impeccable. The 25m infinity pool overlooks the valley below.

If you ever wish to leave Roma, a few bicycles are provided and you are within minutes of beautiful villages and outstanding restaurants. We will, of course, help you choose restaurants, organise other activities, and ensure that your stay at Casa Roma is truly unforgettable.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
The villa is minimalistic in its decor but also very comfortable with huge beds and lots of space. There is a very modern, fully equipped kitchen and dining room upstairs, with an outside terrace and two bedrooms with en-suites and a roof terrace off the main bedroom with views all the way to the sea and a nearby lake. Downstairs is a huge sitting room, 3 further bedrooms, 2 with direct access to the swimming pool through French doors. There is an outside dining area, a lounge area, various sun loungers, a BBQ and outside hob and a table tennis table. The views from the villa are absolutely spectacular across the infinity pool.

Stunning private garden on two levels leading to 25 metre infinity pool, garden furniture of the highest level. Amazing views over the valley and lakes; bicycles provided for you to explore the local area. Wonderful local restaurants.

We have an electric gate and enough space to park two cars securely. There is also space opposite the villa for a further two cars to be parked.

Further details

You will be met at the villa by our English and Croatian speaking representative who will show you around the villa and answers any questions you may have. There will be a Welcome Pack containing orange juice, tea, coffee, wine, beers, crisps/crackers, olives and biscuits. The price includes bath and pool towels, a light mid-stay clean and towel change, and the local tourist tax which is taken care of for you. We provide you with a very useful handbook prior to your stay which gives ideas of day trips, our favourite restaurants and local villages, and we can also arrange for a chef to cook at the house, a masseuse and organise any day trips for you.

We request a 500 Euro security deposit per week of stay, which is returned to you within 14 days of your visit, subject to a property inspection.

Strictly no smoking inside the property please.

Children are welcome but children under 5 years old must be supervised at all times !

Changeover day is Saturday during peak times but shorter stays can be accommodated throughout the rest of the year.

The Istria region

Istria sits in the northwest of Croatia. It has in common with Tuscany beautiful rolling hills within which are perched fabulous medieval towns.

Unlike Tuscany and the better known parts of Croatia like the Dalmatian coast, Istria remains blissfully unblemished by the mainstream European tourist trail, which means that it retains its local character throughout the year. Istria's roads are empty and modern, its food is fantastic, and its climate is delightful.

There's no better place to take a holiday in an atmosphere of total relaxation.

The Pula area

Our villas are a joy for anyone who loves fresh air, sport, great food, or sampling the atmosphere of an area that remains wonderfully unspoiled. If you would like any more information about these, feel free to contact us at any time.

Tennis
Buzet's clay tennis courts are a short drive away and can be booked in advance. Many guests at our villas have taken lessons from the club professional.

Golf
A six-hole course and driving range are tucked away in a valley near Motovun and many shots are hit against a wonderful backdrop of the old Medieval town. Eighteen hole courses can be found on the eco-friendly Veli Brijun island, or on the Italian border near Trieste. A brand new course opened in Pula in 2008.

Sailing
Istria has the largest peninsula in the Adriatic. The coast is a short drive from all three villas, and provides opportunities to sail, swim, dive, and sample the very freshest seafood.

Hot Air Ballooning
Each May, Motovun hosts Istria’s annual hot air balloon festival. This isn't just spectacular to watch, but you have the opportunity to take an exhilarating hot air balloon ride over Istria’s wonderful countryside. Standing in the basket, hearing the roar of the hot air entering the balloon and watching the ground appear to get smaller and smaller beneath you is an experience that will live with you for ever.

Gastronomy
All Istria Deluxe villas are self-catering. However, temptation is never more than a few minutes away. The local restaurants are superb. This is the heart of truffle country. It also gets first pick of seafood fished from the Adriatic. We'll put you in touch with cosy, quiet restaurants, tucked away from the road. We can also arrange for you to eat in celebrity TV chef 'Ronald's' place in Motovun ... or even arrange for him to come and cook for you in your own villa.

Annual Film Festival
With its stone buildings and spectacular, unblemished views, Motovun itself could be a film set. In late July 2008, the town will host its tenth film festival. This is a five-day film marathon in which screenings run from 10am until 4am, with evening outdoor screenings and daily shows in theatres. It consists of approximately 70 titles from all over the world, from documentaries to feature films, from shorts to long forms, from guerilla made films to co productions. They all share a liberal, innovative attitude that is as refreshing as the Motovun air. If you miss the Motovun festival, there are a number of other cinematic events, including the Pula festival.

Cycling
We provide a bicycle for every guest in each villa, so that you can explore the local hills as a group, and work up an appetite for your next huge meal.

Nightlife
Although our villas could not be in more quiet or serene spots, you are just a twenty minute drive from Pula's growing alternative scene which is based in Rojc by Gajeva.

Walking
There are endless opportunitites to walk around these wonderful hills. The roads are quiet, paths run around the back of the hills, and there is hardly a corner to turn that does not unveil a majestic view.

Venice
Venice is only a two hour trip from our villas. We don't think you'll need us to sell you the attractions of Venice ... but this picture might just whet the appetite for a day trip!
