Home description
The house contains two large sized bedrooms, one with a large balcony suitable for private sunbathing and gazing towards the sea on the horizon. It is ideal for two couples or one family.
The villa contains a private pool with sun loungers, a large outside BBQ and its own authentic pizza oven. The owners (Diego and Eury) visit at weekends staying in the downstairs apartment. Apartments have separate access areas.
However the real draw of the area are the Caribbean-like beaches that are scattered everywhere along this picturesque coast. Perfect for young children the beaches include Chia (voted in the Daily Telegraph May 2008 as one of the world's Best Beaches), Teurreda, Nora, Santa Marghareta di Pula.
As with many places in Italy the food and wine is also fresh and tasty - but unlike other areas the prices are significantly cheaper. Fresh fruit is available from the road sides throughout the year with peaches and figs particularly popular in the summer months. Local red wine is very good and available to buy by the litre for €1.5
Finally for those with young children there is a water park (www.blufan.it) less than 10mins drive away, while the ancient capital city of Cagliari is a 25min drive.

The Sardinia region
Sardinia is a relatively well kept secret amongst British holiday makers. As a result, there are very few British holidaymakers in the area even though the island's stunning beaches rival any in the Mediterranean.
Our villa enjoys a very privileged location in the south-west of the island. We are just 25 minutes' drive from the capital city and airport of Cagliari. Our location at the foot of the mountains means that the villa enjoys spectacular panoramic views, both during the daytime and at night when the stars are very bright. At the same time, we are just a 10-minute drive from beaches and historic Roman sites.
The usual season for visiting Sardinia is during the long Mediterranean summer (April-October), although it is often warm outside these months. In high summer (July/August) temperatures average around 30-33 degrees, while winter is considerably warmer than in northern Europe - Christmas Day 2008 saw temperatures climb to a balmy 20 degrees!
Pula Sardinia area
The picturesque town of Pula, with its town square (complete with church) and piazza with live music in the summer months, is a pretty town just a short drive from the villa. The town is home to a handful of superb restaurants specialising in seafood, where the catch of the day is served. Sea bass, orata and lobster frequently feature on the menus. Of course, Italy is also known for its fabulous ice cream, and Pula will not disappoint gelato aficionados - this small town is home to no less than four gelaterias, all serving home-made ice cream for just 1 Euro a scoop.
Heading west from Pula, the coastline is truly spectacular, with a string of white-sand beaches and secluded coves lapped by the crystal-clear Mediterranean.
If you're feeling a little more adventurous, the mountains are beckoning just to the north of our villa, and there are ample opportunities for walking and hiking. Golfers will appreciate the Is Molas course, a well-known course that has played host to the Italian Open, which is a mere 15-minute drive away. Other activities such as horse riding, sailing, kite surfing and kayaking are available within a short drive.
How to get there
Easyjet (Budget Airline) flies direct from London (Luton) to Cagliari (flying time is c.2hrs20mins). In the summer months flights are daily - in autumn and winter they are three times a week www.easyjet.co.uk British Airways flies direct from London (Gatwick) from May - September. www.ba.com Ryanair flies direct from London (Stansted) to Alghero which is less than 3hr drive. Ryanair also fly daily to Cagliari from Milan and Pisa making a two location Italy holiday possible. From 2009 they will also fly direct from Edinburgh, Manchester and Bristol.
Cagliari airport is less than 30mins by car from the villa.
There are numerous car hire companies located at the airport. For those unable to drive there is a taxi rank outside.
For those coming from the mainland there are regular sailings to Rome, Naples, Sicily and Corsica.

Guestbook for Villa Paradiso
A very relaxing break. The owners were very kind and showed us how to make pizzas. The nearby beaches were amazing. This venue is great for walkers. Stunning mountains surround the villa, with beautiful spring flowers. Great pool and garden. We loved the terrace for evening drinks at sundown. Table tennis, swimming pool and pizza oven - what a holiday!
