About the home

Chia is totally unspoilt and lies in South West Sardinia which is much warmer than the North. Villa Casa Chia is surrounded by mountains and about 130 miles from Africa to the South so it not much of a surprise that it has it's own micro climate. The season is from April to November. The walkers and Golfers take the early and late months but by early April until November you can sunbathe on the terraces or choose from the many magnificent beaches some of which you can see from the villa.

A land full of treasures Sardinia is steeped in history with the ancient Phoenician city of Nora close by in Pula.
All around you are views of a beautiful landscape of seas and mountains that blend in a multitude of Mediterranean colours. The sea washes the coastline of silky white sand dunes modeled by the Spring winds. Secular junipers embrace the dunes and help them maintain their size and shapes. A mountainous chain rich in flora and fauna lies behind the sea. It is not uncommon to encounter deer and wild boar here nor to taste arbutus berries or collect wild pore mushrooms (boletus edulis).

There many excellent restaurants serving traditional and local dishes to choose from just a short walk away. There are plenty of shops and a supermarket for all your needs.

This detached private villa is positioned in a small group of individual designed private villas on the side of a small mountain overlooking the huge river valley a lagoon (with flamingos) and the sea. Designed by famous local architects it has 3 double en-suite bedrooms, 3 flat screen TVs with local satellite viewing and 3 DVD s. There is climate control throughout for winter and summer use, large living space and kitchen seamlessly joining the terraces and gardens. Wi-Fi is available at the nearest hotel a few minutes walk away.

When you arrive you will have a welcome pack including wine, water and food. If you need specific items please let us know and we can have this for ready for you.

There are several terraces which are maintained throughout the year with automatic irrigation, night lighting and built-in barbecue. With its private infinity pool overlooking mountains, lagoon and sea Villa Casa Chia is designed for a relaxing luxury holiday.

There are six sunloungers and outside dining. There is also a day bed and loungers to relax in under the shade of of our Bamboo terrace. We also have a selection of items for the beaches such as deckchairs, lilos, bucket and spades etc. We also supply beach towels.

Casa Chia is built on one level with uninterrupted views of the unspoilt valley, mountains and sea. The gardens have been designed and stocked with local fauna and are a feature of the villa. The gardens, pool and villa are not overlooked and lie in a quiet and peaceful area. There is private off road parking just below the villa for 3 cars. There are 20 steps up to the villa and the villa layout and pool is all on one level.

The Sardinia region

Baia Chia with its silky sand, up to 30 meter-high white dunes and crystalline, turquoise-hued water is reminiscent of an idyllic Caribbean beach. The bay is bordered by majestic, age-old junipers and a few stone traces of the Phoenician city of Bithia whose site Baia Chia now occupies. And if it’s your lucky day, you might catch a glimpse of dolphins and, on the lagoon, flamingos. Chia is also a wonderful venue for surfers because the winds blow just the right way. On this lovely bay there is also a lovely restaurant, Dune di Campana, where the aromatic Mediterranean maquis can be enjoyed along with a cool, refreshing drink.

Facing the bay is Su Giudeu, a teeny island that you can wade across to. And Baia Chia Restaurant on the opposite side of the bay is also a lovely place to while away a hot summer afternoon.

Cala Cipolla, the bay next door to Baia Chia, is only accessible on foot, but its picturesque beach and cliffs make it worth the walk. It also features seven reefs at a depth of 25 meters, a veritable paradise for scuba divers.

Take your camera and if you have a telephoto lens catch the Flamingos which are all around the South of the island.

The Pula Sardinia / Chia area

Visit Pula and head for Nora, a large Roman amphitheater that lies directly on the sea and is used for a music festival in summer.

The ruins of the amphitheater are located at the tip of a small tongue of land jutting out into the sea that is dominated by a Spanish tower. This place is well worth a visit because of its lovely, open setting.

The nearest airport is Cagliari where you can hire from all the popular car firms. It takes 45 minutes to reach Chia.
Ryanair flys direct to Cagliari from Bristol, Manchester and Edenburgh (and also to Algehro which is in the north of the Island). Easyjet flys direct from Stansted and also BA from Gatwick. There are many ports which offer a short ferry crossing to Sardinia. Overnight ferries from Toulon, Marseilles and Nice in the South of France
