The Sardinia region
Sardinia is the second island in the Mediterranean sea for extension. Because of its geographic position in the middle of the Mediterranean sea and its resources, especially the mining resources, Sardinia has always represented the colonizers' destination.
Sardinia is a very ancient island rich in history and legends and everywhere there are traces of human settlements dated from the Neolithic Age. The climate allows to have a very long summer season, from April to November.
The Pula Sardinia / Is Molas area
There are a lot of interesting archaeological points to visit in the Area. For example Nora – the Sardinian Atlantis – the antic Phoenician – Punic - Roman town discovered more than ten years of excavations. According to the epigraphic Phoenician documents Nora was considered the most antic settlement of Sardinia. In the neighbourhoods of Nora, in Pula are there is the Tower of Saint Efisio (Torre di Sant'Efisio) of the unknown age, coming probably from around early VII century.
Pula is not only history and archaeology, but also beautiful coasts quite appreciated by the numerous tourists crowding the area's beaches and resorts, for the most part during the summer.
Pula is also important for the Italian Golf Open that takes place at the Is Molas Golf Club. Every year, this sport's most important champions and numerous VIPs meet here.
Not to be overlooked is the little church very close to the golf club. It has recently become a place of worship for believers and pilgrims from all over Sardinia. The church is dedicated to the Capuchin friar Fra Nazareno, born in this area. He died, considered a saint by many, a few years ago.

The villa is in a great location and has wonderful views of the med. It is well equipped although the BBQ could be bigger. A rental car is essential to be able to get out and about to local beaches, shops, towns, attractions etc. It is market day in Pula on a Tuesday which is well worth a visit and some of the beaches close by are amongest the best on the island. The water park is not far and is a non expensive full day out with the kids. Dinner at the IsMolas hotel is a must and the food is fantastic and also non expensive for the 4 courses you get. There are also a number of restaurants close by but you do need a car to get to them. Cagliari is also well worth a day trip as you can park fairly easily by the boat port. The villa itself is very airy and comfortable. The swimming pool is big enough to swim properly in and play games with the children plus it is deep enough to dive in too. The terrace area is the villa's gem. it is cool enough for an afternoon siesta, to eat all meals and to relax in with a glass of wine once the kids are in bed. Overall the best villa we have ever stayed in and the only villa we have ever returned. |

If you prefer fantastic views to being beachside or in town then this villa is for you. We have stayed in many villas over the years and this is close to the best we have stayed in, although the down-side is that it was the most expensive. One disappointing aspect was that there were builing works next to the property. For two days we had JCBs the other side of the hedge from the pool! I would therefore check whether the noisy works have finished before you book. If you like cats then you won't mind the strays that think they own the place and can get under your feet - you can tell I'm not a cat lover! |

We had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful villa which is located in a secure gated community on a hillside overlooking views of the coastline, a 10 minute drive away. Marta the owner is very helpful. The villa is sutable for all ages but as it has a fairly steep driveway which is difficult to get a large people carrier up,very young children or those who find walking difficult may stuggle. The drive is fine for smaller cars. Anyone with a cat allergy may want to check with the owner as two cats have adopted the outside room as a sleeping area and also demand food! There is a great selection of lovely beaches to visit locally and restaurants suitable for the whole family. I would definately recommend this villa. |
