The Sardinia region
Sardinia is a beautiful island and very interesting, with some of the cleanest and least crowded beaches in Italy.
The island has a Mediterranean climate, but the south is generally much drier than the North West region, which receives a lot of rain in winter. The wettest months are November and December, while July and August are the hottest and driest, averaging about 95 ° F (35 ° C), sometimes reaching 104 ° F (40 ° C). In winter, temperatures along the coast between 50 ° F and 68 ° F (10-20 ° C).
Pula, the friendly local town is just 5km away and is packed with great restaurants, shops selling everything from the latest fashions to local handicrafts and there's even a town square with free concerts throughout the summer with children's entertainers, live bands and dance performances.
For history buffs, you're just 5km from Nora for a visit to the ruins of the island's capital in Roman times, complete with elaborate mosaics, baths and even an amphitheatre all set on the Mediterranean sea. The accompanying museum in Pula has a great display of the finds from the site.
The local beaches are world famous with the wide sandy beaches of Nora, Chia and Tuerredda all within easy reach and the closest beach is just 1.2km away so can be easily reached on foot.
Local activities include kite surfing, golf, horse riding, wine and cheese tasting, sailing and fishing so there's something for everyone and the BluFan water park (8.5km away) offers a great day our for children and the young at heart.
The famous Is Molas Golf Course, which hosts the Italian Open each year is only a two minute drive away.

"Perfect holiday for rest and relaxation"
Holiday accommodation was spotlessly clean and fixtures and fittings were of a high standard, lovely powerful showers and natural stone in all three bathrooms. Swimming pool was large and even though … More
Hi Lucy S, thank you so much for your lovely review. It was such a pleasure meeting you all and I can't wait to see you and your family again next year!

The house itself is very nice - from the outside. The photos are deceitful. The kitchen is far too small with a terrible kettle and bad fridge. The TV is good but the DVD player doesn't work. The… More
We're so pleased that you found the pool and gardens to be lovely, enjoyed the local area and great restaurants and that the comfy mattresses helped you sleep well but we're sorry to hear about your other issues. As the fridge/freezer was brand new and bought just months before your stay, is of a very good size and in perfect working order we can only guess that if you were unhappy with it, it may have been that you accidentally turned the temperature setting dial right down which would have prevented it getting very cold. The kettle was also brand new and I did demonstrate during your stay that if you don't close the lid properly when you use it the steam is unable to build up inside and prevents it switching itself off automatically when the water has boiled. You are entirely right however about the DVD player and thanks to your feedback we were alerted to the fact it tended to skip so purchased a replacement immediately.
We also understand that some guests may find it a bit of a pain to separate all of their rubbish for recycling whilst on holiday. However this is a legal requirement imposed by the local government in order to help keep Sardinia beautiful and unspoilt rather than sending thousands of tonnes of rubbish to landfill every summer and we do provide a detailed "how to" guide to recycling as well as a selection of different, well labelled bins in a designated recycling area on the back porch at the villa to try and help with the task. Thank you for following the guides and separating your rubbish even though you found it a little OTT; we love Sardinia and thanks to your help in disposing of your rubbish thoughtfully and in accordance with local laws we can keep it beautiful and unspoilt for generations to come.
Most properties on the island do have a limited electricity supply of 3-4kwats. This is because during the summer months the population of the island increases hugely due to tourism which results in increased electricity usage. If all homes were to have unlimited supplies of electricity the local grids would be unable to cope resulting in daily black-outs over large areas. 3-4kwats is perfectly sufficient for daily usage but if you run all four aircon units in the villa simultaneously with the oven, kettle or microwave and TV then you will exceed the allotted amount of power and the main breaker will trip. We do explain this in the Welcome Book provided at the villa and I did visit you during your stay to go through it again with you and with considerate usage of the appliances provided this is not generally an issue for any of our guests
In spite of your issues though we're very grateful for the five star rating for ease of booking, the check-in process, bed quality, cleanliness, service and overall condition of the villa and the four star rating for the quality of facilities and amenities you gave us and are pleased that overall you enjoyed your holiday and for your honest feedback that helped us to improve the experience at Villa Karalis for future guests by highlighting the issue with the DVD player.

"A luxurious treat - perfect for much needed rest and relaxation."
Sarena's first class local knowledge ensured we had a magnificent holiday. In addition, she was both courteous and friendly, always willing to help.
The villa was sumptuously beautiful. We especially liked the spacious bathrooms and showers. The kitchen was very well equipped and the villa also came with a BBQ which we enjoyed immensely.
The villa came with a brilliant guide which included superb suggestions regarding special local sites such as Chia beach and the ruins at Nora, besides restaurant recommendations. I especially recommend the pizza at S'incontru in Pula.
We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay and thank you for posting all those lovely photos! We're making all sorts of changes and upgrades over this winter, and I'm looking forward to seeing you again next year!
