The Istria region
Istra is a typical Italian province of Croatia and the majority of the inhabitants are Italian by origin and will speak the languague. There is a real love of the arts and tradition. The area has developed and is still developing with some fantastic restaurants and great all year round shopping. The lanscape hilly and decorated by the pine woods reaching all the way out to the sea. The ancient Venetians towns, beautifully restaurant with historical sites everywhere for you to enjoy.
Visit the harbour town of Umag, or Porec, Vsar and Rovinj and the mountain village of Buje. Also Istria has wonderful nature conservatiions ( not far from the property).
Pula/Medulin / Medulin area
Medulin is a traditional fishing village of Roman origin now getting quite busy in the peaks of summer. With offerings of small shops and some great restaurants. 10 mins from Pula by car with its markets and boutiques , restaurants , historical roman buildings and the spectacular Ampitheatre. The Medulin bay that stretches for 42 km with a collection of small sandy and rocky coves and 9 islets if the Medulin archipelago.
