The house has been well restored with all modern comforts whilst retaining its original charm. It is well equipped and furnished in a retro style with locally sourced furnishings. All rooms are light and airy with high beamed ceilings. Many of the floors have colourful original tiles There are lovely views from the terrace and living rooms which overlook the courtyard.
Entry is via steps at the front of the house to the first floor entrance hall. There is bedroom to the left with a double and single bed. To the right is the kitchen. The kitchen breakfast room has a fridge, fridge/freezer, gas hob, electric oven and microwave. There is table table and chairs for eight, next to the kitchen is a utility room containing the dishwasher and washing machine. On this floor you will also find the huge living room with comfortable sofas, easy chairs and dining table with seating for eight. There is a shower room with a recently installed shower unit, WC and wash hand-basin. A further sitting room opens onto the lovely terrace for Al fresco dining. Stairs from the terrace give access to the courtyard garden.
The courtyard garden is fully paved with a swimming pool. The pool is 7 x 3 m with a depth throughout of 1.4m, it is entered by roman steps. There is a sun terrace with sun loungers and dining furniture also a built in BBQ area. The garden is well maintained with flowering shrubs, orange and fig trees. The courtyard has access to the garage and huge covered storage area where you will find a ping pong table and a shower room with a WC. The garage has secure parking for two cars.
The third floor of the house has two further bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a single and double bed. There is a family bathroom with bath with hand shower, wash hand-basin and WC, a separate WC, large landing area and a huge living room with sofas. This living room is great for kids with satellite TV with free to view UK channels, a DVD and video player.
The house is equipped with WiFi internet access, sheets and towels are provided but please bring pool towels. Cot and high chair provided.
Due to the number of stairs and unprotected staircases the house is not suitable for very young children or people with limited mobility.
The house is an easy stroll to the village centre which has a bakery and grocery shop.

About this location
The Languedoc-Roussillon region
A small historic village with a chateau in the centre. It is a good example of a circulade village one of several in the area, the streets are arranged in a circular fashion similar to a snails shell. The village has a bakery and grocers shop which stocks all your everyday needs. The village boasts several excellent wine producers including the excellent Le Croix Belle, which are very happy to offer tastings of their wines on request. The village has its own sports facilities including tennis courts. The larger village of Magalas is a short five minute drive away and has a good range of shops and restaurants including an excellent value pizzeria and a top of the range restaurant. Beziers is close by for great a shopping experience and markets. Beaches are 25 minutes away.
he Languedoc stretches from the Rhone Valley to the Spanish border and eastern Pyrenees, from the spectacular Massif Central mountain range, through hills and plains carpeted with vines and olive groves to the Mediterranean's beaches and lagoons full of oyster and mussel beds. This rich diversity ensures that there is something to suit all tastes and interests.
The area is steeped in history from the Cathar Castles in the Pyrenean foothills to the Crusader towns of Aigues Mortes and Le Couvertorade. The Roman towns of Nimes, Arles, Narbonne and Avignon are all within a days drive. The medieval town of St Guilham le Desert is not to be missed for its fabulous setting and it's famous abbey.
Swimming in the river at the mouth of the Gorges d'Herault is only a ten minute drive; canoes can be hired on the large sandy beach for breathtaking views as you paddle up the gorge. The beautiful Lake Salagou is twenty minutes away and offers safe bathing, windsurfing, sailing, pedelos, bike hire and horse riding. Sandy beaches on the coast are all within forty minutes drive. Several excellent Golf courses are available in Montpellier, Lamalou les Bains and Beziers.
The varied countryside is a walker's paradise the footpaths are well marked, local tourist offices provide suggested itineraries to suit all levels of ability. The spectacular limestone rock formations give rise to wonderful gorges and scenery including the Cirque de Navacelles, Cirque de Moureze, Gorge d'Herault and the caves of Clamouse and Desmoiselles.
The sophisticated City of Montpellier is ahaven for shoppers with its ancient narrow streets offering everything from antiques to the best in French Haute Couture. There is an excellent range of restaurants and pavement cafes where you can enjoy being entertained by a wide range of street artists and musicians during the summer evenings. The newly inaugurated tramway system is highly efficient and avoids the need to take your car into the town centre.
Weekly street markets are held in Gignac, Clermont Herault and Pezenas and Lodeve, here you will find an unbeatable array of local produce including olives, cheeses, fruit, vegetables and colourful Provencal textiles. There are also daily markets in Montpellier and a weekly flea market on Sunday mornings.
