Cal Pesolet is a charming family seat in Cerdanya, surrounded by meadows and forests, 150 metres far from the nature park of Cadí-Moixeró.

Placed in the small village of Nèfol, at a height of 1,250 meters, it allows you to enjoy the most peaceful Cerdanya, with no cars and a silence which only the noise of cocks or woodpeckers can break. The country cottage offers a superb panorama from the fields up to the valley, as well as to the four big mountains of the area: Puigpedrós, Carlit, Puigmal and Tossa d'Alp.

Its owners, professionals of ski, horse and bike guidance, restored it in 1999. They maintained its structure and original materials, but combined with current comforts.

The cottage is turnkey rented. It is ideal for families and groups of friends:

The Catalunia region

Cerdanya is a wide open valley at an altitude of more than 1,000 metres, surrounded by mountains that almost reach the 3,000 metres. Due to its E-W orientation, the days here are bright and long. The Segre river collets the waters from these mountains and conducts them to Seu d'Urgell. One side of the river is influenced by the Atlantic climate; the other, by the Mediterranean and, as a result, it offers to us lots of different landscapes and varieties of flora and fauna.

The plain, full of cereal fields and pastures for horses and cows, is nice to go for a walk, run and ride a horse or a bicycle. When the mountains gain more and more incline the forests of red pines, black pines, oaks and fir trees offer springs, mushrooms, strawberries, wild boars, roe deer and magical paths. Beyond 2,000 metres of altitude the high mountain is soft and allows us to experience easy hikes but, at the same, there are vertical walls and thin crests for riskier adventures.

Cerdanya embraced the first tourists in the beginning of the 20th century, who fell in love with the countryside and longed for nature and adventures. Nowadays it keeps a ranching and farming spirit, and welcomes more travellers, who are offered a really wide range of activities in nature, the experience of the Romanesque and delicious mountain gastronomy.

Puigcerda

Nèfol is a small village, placed in the hillside of the Cadí mountains. It is at an altitude of 1,450 m, located next to the nature park of Cadí-Moixeró and just 3.4 km far from Bellver de Cerdanya (5 min driving), the second most-populated town in Cerdanya. Currently there are 5 houses in the place, out of the 16 there were before the abandonment of the village in the seventies. Recovered in 2001, nowadays it has electricity, running water and paved access.

With its privileged settlement and amazing views over the valley and the summits of Cerdanya, it is a peaceful place, ideal to experience nature and mountain.

"Beautiful house in beautiful mountains"

A group of us stayed for a week's hiking holiday in October, and we would definitely recommend a stay here - the house was lovely, with everything we needed, the fresh eggs from the chickens were delicious, and the walks and the scenery were spectacular! (Although we were perhaps a bit too unfit to manage some of the longer ones suggested!)

We were made to feel very welcome before we even arrived, with plenty of contact to make sure we knew how to find the house (which is about 10 minutes drive from the village and shops), and the owners were very helpful while we were there, giving us tips on where the good walks were, where to find the late-opening supermarkets, and so-on. All in all, a very relaxed holiday in the fresh air of the Spanish Pyrennees!

Thank you for your kindly words! We are happy to know you had a wonderful stay in Cal Pesolet and the Pyrenees! It has been a pleasure for us!
