About the home

Privately owned, (we have been members of the "El Marques Palace Owners Association" since 2002.) our luxury apartment with sea view, 312 El Marques Palace is located in pretty gated gardens with a large heated swimming pool (and children’s pool) - part of the 5 Star El Marques Palace complex. Just two minutes walk from the shops and restaurants in this peaceful area where there’s still masses to do and see. Sun drenched Los Gigantes, located in the warmer South West of the island, is highly regarded as one of the most superior and relaxing places to stay in Tenerife (TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM BUSY LAS AMERICAS!!) A five minute stroll takes you to the virtually deserted sandy beach in the horseshoe-shaped Puerto Santiago cove where you can watch your supper being unloaded from the fishing boats bobbing at anchor further out in the bay.

This air conditioned apartment has two comfortable and pretty bedrooms (one with king size bed, one with two single beds) and two bathrooms with showers. We also have a double sofa bed making a maximum capacity of six.

A wide double balcony, with marvellous sea and sunset views towards the island of La Gomera and the awesome Los Gigantes cliffs, runs the length of the apartment with access to lounge and master bedroom through patio doors, flooding the rooms with light and air. Apartment 312 is bathed in sunshine for hours and hours each day and the swimming pool is in the sunshine from early morning. Well equipped, fully fitted kitchen; four ring halogen hob with large oven, grill, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave. This is an easy kitchen to cook in, (fresh fish, meat, vegetables and fresh baked bread are readily available very locally and very reasonably priced). If we’re feeling lazy we often dine alfresco on the balcony then stroll down into Los Gigantes for a coffee and dessert in the plaza or wander into one of the evening entertainments on offer, generally just for the price of a drink!! It's all so convenient and the atmosphere so relaxed, it is very pleasant to potter around in the balmy evening air. However eating out also offers great choice and value in the wide range of excellent local restaurants - see below.

Golf, Siam Water Park, diving, Mount Teide and sightseeing are all easily accessible. With many years experience behind us we are happy to do everything we can to enable you to enjoy stress free booking and a stress free holiday.

Lovely church in the quaint village square of Los Gigantes. Extremely friendly welcome extended by the vicar and all the congregation. C of E (the most southerly dioces) and Catholic services held there twice a week.

A sunny and spacious apartment

The Tenerife region

The island of Tenerife is one of incredible variety. It offers dramatic scenery with majestic Mount Teide presiding over the island in snow-capped glory. Then there are the remote mountain villages with a wonderful Alpine feel where dainty flowers carpet green meadows. Rugged ravines run down to the sea, a splendid testimony to the volcanic presence (thankfully not seen for some years). The coastline is skimmed with magnificent cliffs, such as theseen in Los Gigantes and sandy beaches either clothed in the famous black sand or the, more common, golden variety.

The Puerto Santiago / Los Gigantes area

Los Gigantes, SO different from the noisy and crowded Las Americas. The tranquil village of Los Gigantes snuggles in a peaceful, secluded valley. There is no through road, no rowdy hoardes of youngsters out to get smashed, no endless machines blaring out their mindless racket day and night, no 'kiss me quick' hats - just friendly people enjoying a gentle pace of life in a glorious setting. This is one of the most tranquil and exclusive areas of the island of Tenerife.

The village has been built around the traditional style plaza with the beautiful church at its heart. The church boasts an interesting selection of bronze sculptures with a dramatic painting over the altar. This plaza is the hub of the village. Take time out and enjoy a glass of local wine or a coffee and just watch the world go by. If you're lucky the local 'parakeetas' will put on an aerial display for you in one of the large leafy trees.

There are stunning views across the bay to the island of La Gomera which rises majestically from the twinkling ocean like some romantic fairy castle. . Relax with a chilled glass of excellent local vino at sunset and feast your eyes on the spectacular free show as the sun plops into the sea coating the island and water in golden light. The magnificent Los Gigantes cliffs soar away down the coast beyond the village harbour helping create a sheltered year-round climate and a haven for sea birds..

Loads of places to visit/things to do (if you can prize yourself away from the swimming pool!):

Boat trips from Los Gigantes harbour take you out to watch dolphins and whales playing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Reasonably priced - I prefer the smaller boats as you get closer to the dolphins. I could hear the baby dolphin breathing as it was swimming alongside us. Not ashamed to admit it made me cry!! You can enjoy swimming in the crystal clear waters of the bay as they make the pick up at Masca.

Which reminds me take a walking tour through the Masca Gorge and you can return to Los Gigantes by boat. Bird watchers paradise.

Lorro Park i(sort of outdoor jungly zoo but set in super scenery) s a fantastic day out for the youngsters, as is the giant water park - our boys loved it!!

Mount Teide is really worth visiting - the highest peak in Spain. Watch out for your breakfast on the cable car! And do wear warm clothes if you go to the top otherwise you could find yourself walking through snow and ice in your shorts and T shirt!! The drive up through the beautiful forests with amazing, dizzying (in places), panoramic views is incredible.

The Pyramids at Guima are fascinating - I will have to visit again. If you like history you'll LOVE this.

Just Imagine- YEAR ROUND GOLF!!! Yes, literally year round. When we are using blue balls in the UK or packing our golf clubs away for the winter, Southern Tenerife is still basking in glorious balmy sunshine. There are many gorgeous, good quality golf courses nearby (many overlooking the ocean). Nearest 15 minutes by car/taxi. If you are staying for a week you could play a different course every day. There’s “Abama” (home to international tournaments) and therefore quite challenging. A round of golf is incredible value at Los Lagos course in Adeje (approximately 20 minutes distance), and there are lots more we can tell you about. Terry is a very keen golfer and he is very happy to advise and point you in the right direction, just contact us direct. So grab your friends and book our apartment for some fabulous games of golf at any time of the year!

It was a fantastic home from home, everything you could want in an apartment and the El Marques Palace is kept so beautiful. Such nice friendly staff working hard to keep it immaculate - loved the little touches the cleaning staff left with the towels making them into animals! We took your advice and went on a small boat out to see the Whales and Dolphins - fabulous and very moving with the babies. We loved the area, found it breathtaking, nothing like Playa Americas. Thought we were on another Island! The apartment is situated very nicely for Los Gigantes, Puerto Santiago and Playa Arena all within walking distance.
