About the home

This quality accommodation is in the lovely resort of Puerto de Santiago between Los Gigantes and Playa de la Arena, is ideally situated only minutes to the promenade and Seafront Plaza.

This apartment is ideal for families or couples as it is in a very good area and although only minutes from the promenade it is peaceful, it is also in an excellent position within the complex. Guests comment on how quite it is, which is essential for sleeping. The lift from reception goes straight to our apartment, also there is a lift from the apartment door to the solarium and pool - no walking along long corridors

Both the living room and main bedroom have patio doors opening onto the full length, south facing terrace with views to the sea and the island of La Gomera.

The property has Satellite TV with British & German programmes, 32" flat screen TV, DVD & VCR player with DVDs & Videos also Radio/CD player, iPod dock, free WiFi Internet Access available.

Within minutes you can be on the promenade with local bars and restaurants serving traditional Canarian, Spanish and international cuisine - Chinese, Mexican, Italian, German & Austrian.. There also is a excellent well stocked supermarket very nearby.

The Tenerife region

Tenerife is the largest and most popular of the Canary Islands (know as the Fortunate Islands). The island has the most wonderful year-round climate, only 4 hour flights from the UK. Tenerife is an island of diversity, lush tropical scenery in the north, dramatic sun soaked coastline on the west (our area) continuing to the lively beaches in the south and to the snow capped peak of Mount Tiede.

Playa de Santiago/Los Gigantes coastal resort is in the foothills of Mount Tiede with good access to the National Park and Mount Teide a World Heritage Site and the lush valley and village of Masca. Within reach of the wine growing area of Tenerife.

An excellent location for independent or organised walks from easy to more strenuous walks (walkers love this area).

The Puerto Santiago / Los Gigantes area

Playa de Santiago/Los Gigantes area has a peaceful, laid back atmosphere. As it once was a quiet fishing village it still holds all its Canarian charm, with a mix of local and international population. We have a super selection of restaurants where you will find excellent Canarian food available in the traditional restaurants, with tapas bars and cafes along with a good variety of international restaurants all this within walking distance.

Our apartment is in a very good location as there is an excellent supermarket opposite which sells local delicacies whilst at the same time catering to the English and Continental tastes, with hot bread throughout the day from early morning. The sea front and plaza are only yards away, and the beautiful beach (consistently awarded the European blue flag for clean and well run beaches - with toilets showers and lifeguards) only takes five minutes to walk along the promenade There are many local events held here throughout the year, such as firework displays, traditional and holiday fiestas, with the main fiesta in July quite an experience with many attractions for all ages culminating in a fantastic firework display. The area has lovely walks along the coast taking in beautiful scenery and sea air with the amazing cliffs and marina below.

There are a variety of water activities including boat excursions to see whales and dolphins, a glass bottomed boat, a large marina and water sports including scuba diving, also a number of good diving schools, for beginners and more experienced divers.

There is no necessity for a car as everything locally is within walking distance, the taxis are cheap and for exploring the coast and island the public transport is air conditioned and excellent. The bus stop is only a few minutes from the apartment (buy a Bono card from a shop to get 1/3 off all journeys). Or hire a car for a day or two - rates are very reasonable.

We've stayed a week on Tenerife in the apartment of Michael and Georgina. The apartment is very well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We were two, but could have brought our two kids easily. Weather was great in February, swimming was still a bit cold but we have really enjoyed the beds @ the swimming pool. Really nice and quiet.
We did not have a car, but got nearly everywhere else on the island. We did some very nice walks.

We have spent many holidays in this area of Tenerife but this is the best apartment we have rented.It is ideally situated between Playa Arena and Los Gigantes.The apartment has every facility you could wish for,it is clean,well furnished,close to a supermarket,close to a greengrocery/fruiterer,with bars and a selection of good restaurants nearby.The help,care and attention to detail provided by Gina and Michael is the icing on the cake.
The area enjoys the best weather in Tenerife ,an excellent beach in Playa Arena and great walks with stunning seascape views.Recommend for those who enjoy a quieter resort.

We have visited the Canaries and especially Tenerife many times. During these visits we have frequently rented apartments (all of them good!) and the first thing we should say is that this was the best of all.

This appartment was clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped.
It is also very conveniently located for local shopping and restaurants -our favourite being Casa Pepe just two minutes away. In addition Playa Arena, Puerto Santiago and Los Gigantes are all within easy walking distance. The bus service for more distant locations
(e.g. Las Americas/Los Christianos) is reliable, frequent and inexpensive.

The owners, Georgina and Michael made us very welcome and provided all of the information we needed to enjoy the property and attached facilities. Although they went back to England a few days after our arrival they ensured that we could still contact them should this be necessary. We are including this point because it did become necessary at what should have been the end of our stay. Due to the bad weather in the UK and then the Spanish Air Traffic Controller's strike our flight departure was delayed for two days. We contacted Gina and without hesitation she told us to stay put for as long as necessary which was an enormous relief.

In summary this was the best appartment we have rented anywhere in Tenerife, Gina and Michael provided the best customer service possible and we would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone visiting this part of the island.

Whenever we next visit this part of Tenerife this appartment will definitely be our first choice of accommodation.

This is our second stay at Georgina and Michael's apartment and yet again we had a great 12 day stay. For anyone browsing the feedback Olivia Sunset is a pristine apartment block set off the main road in Puerto Santiago. The pool and solarium are spotless and very well maintained and the apartment itself is clean light and spacious. The building is nice and quiet (never any noise from guests or loud music). The local supermarket is a minute from the apartment which is very handy. We've never stayed at a better self catering apartment. We love it here, the bars and restaurants are only a few minutes walk and Playa La Arena on foot is only an extra five minutes away. If you walk up the hill to Spanish Corner there is a lovely local fish restaurant. Los Gigantes is a five minute drive or a few minutes by bus where you can take a boat trip on the Flipper Uno (very reasonable prices), or another of the many boat excursions on offer.The beaches and scenery have got to be some of the nicest on the whole island and we will definitely be back again. Thanks again Gina & Michael.

I have just returned from Olivia Sunset accompanied by my 85 year old father. We had the whole month of December 2009 and arrived back in UK to the freezing arctic conditions,
The apartment is spotlessly clean with all home comforts. It is ideally situated with bus stops/ taxi ranks/numerous restaurants and bars nearby. There is also a well stocked supermarket some 50 yds walk away which caters for English tastes and a nearby greengrocers. A very large supermarket (Mercadona) a little further walk away has an excellent fresh fish counter as well as a meat and deli counter. The swimming pool and all communal areas are pristine and are cleaned everyday. The owners Gina & Michael go out of their way to make your stay a happy one and they are close by and only too willing to help in anyway that they can. In fact they are both treasures.
There are some lovely walks in the vicinity and the coastal walk to Los Gigantes cannot be beaten for views etc. We had warm sunny weather for the whole time of our stay and the usual Tenerife temperatures of around 73F. We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and it is ideal for old and young alike. It is very suitable for a quiet and peaceful relaxing holiday, but with all facilities close by. Cannot wait to return. Our thanks to Gina & Michael for making our stay so warm and welcoming.

For our 1st visit to Tenerife it made a huge difference having a quick tour from Michael giving us a little knowledge of where we were. Michael and Gina very friendly and apartment very clean and all we could ask for. Great location with everyone being so friendly. We hired a car for the week so we got to see a lot,Mount Teide was quiet an experience.
We had our 10 year old son and he loved the pool, also the trip to Siam Park and Loro Park, Cannot praise Michael enough, if ever we return to Tenerife we would definitely stay here. Once again Thank You, you both are a credit to your country.

Our stay in Olivia Sunset was a holiday to remember!There is a lovely view from the balcony from which we could see the boats out at sea and a wonderful view of the island La Gomera 20 miles away.The apartment is well appointed and very clean,it also has everything you would need to make for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.Within walking distance there are restaurants and bars to suit every palate, from a tasty Chinese at the bottom of the road to a lovely Spanish bar/restaurant (Pepe's) just a little further along the Prom, a short walk away there is a bar called 'Dorta's where we enjoyed a delicious Russian Salad and Paella.All the Owners of these 'eateries' were so friendly and welcoming that you just wanted to return (which we did!).Lovely beaches and walks, frequent bus services to any part of the Island and local Supermarket just added to the amenities. The owners of the apartment, Gina and Michael could not do enough for us with help and advice, so all in all this made for a wonderful holiday.

"We have really enjoyed our visits to this apartment, it is always immaculately clean and has all the conveniences of home including washing machine, iron, hairdryer, satellite TV, CD player, DVD player, well equipped kitchen etc. In short, it's as comfortable as being at home.
There is a lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean and the island of La Gomera from the spacious balcony, and the property is well placed to be able to explore all the surrounding area. Playa Arena, Puerto de Santiago and Los Gigantes are all in easy walking distance, while a Bono ticket costing 12 Euros from any news agent gets you half price local bus travel if you fancy exploring a bit further afield like nearby Alcala, San Juan or anywhere on the island.

The area where the apartment is located has lots of lovely restaurants nearby. You can eat alfresco at the Fisherman's, only 5 minutes walk away, they serve lovely local fish dishes at reasonabe prices. Why not go up market and check out El Barco de Nino at Edificio Mar Blanco in Pueto Santiago. You can dine on wonderful local dishes and they do good steaks and pasta dishes as well as the brilliant sea food. Try the lobster it is fantastic.

We love the apartment and the area, but the best part of our holiday is the welcome we get from the owners Gina & Michael. They are always there to help and they do everything they can to make sure you have a great holiday.

Pity I can only award it five stars, it's probably worth more.

LOVELY APARTMENT, GREAT LOCATION

My nine year old daughter and myself stayed at this apartment for two very enjoyable weeks in August this year. The location is excellent; there is a lovely black sand beach just a few minutes walk along the coast in Playa de Arena where we spent a lot of time and there are plenty of nice restaurants in Puerto Santiago and nearby Los Gigantes, which was very picturesque. We found that there was plenty to do on the island and made several excursions to zoos and water parks. My daughter particularly liked Monkey Park, where the lemurs and squirrel monkeys climb onto your shoulders to take food out of your hands and Loro Parque, where there are dolphin and sea lion shows. We did not hire a car and found the local bus service very reliable and reasonably priced. The apartment itself was ideal for us; comfortable and spacious with a washing machine and well equipped kitchen plus a TV with a good selection of DVDs and videos. The swimming pool was really good; large and very well maintained. The owners; Georgina and Michael, were very friendly and helpful and I would certainly recommend this apartment.

We stayed in this wonderful accommodation July/August 2009. We have two children aged 13 and 9 and the apartment catered for all our needs. The owners, Michael and Georgina, couldn't have been more helpful and they have a wealth of local knowledge. We prefer a relaxing break and the resort is quiet in the Summer. There are plenty of restaurants locally to suit all tastes (and pockets!). We particularly liked 'El Meson' with lovely food and great atmosphere. The apartment is equipped with all the pots, pans and utensils you could need to cook 'at home' and the supermarket and greengrocers are only yards from the apartment. There is a small beach set in a cove locally as well as the very clean, award winning beach at Playa de la Arena both within easy walking distance. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with all towels and bedding (with spares) included. The pool area and all communal parts of this complex are very well maintained.

The children loved the pool, and all of the extras that were at the apartment for the children to use. "We stayed in this lovely apartment in May 2009. On arrival we found the apartment to have everything we needed to help us have a comfortable and enjoyable holiday. We even found a welcome pack, which was much appreciated. Michael and Georgina were extremely helpful during our stay and we would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and the area. There is a supermarket on the doorstep and some nice restaurants just minutes away. "Michael and Georgina were very helpful both before arrival and during our stay if we needed anything. The apartment was spotless and well equipped with everything you could need during your stay - eg toys for the children/beach, hairdryer, plenty of towels and linen and it was useful to have washing up liquid/washing powder, coffee, sugar etc in the apartment. It was an ideal apartment for us being two adults and a 2 and 3 year old and we would definitely book again.
