You can go off walking/trekking to see the sights, out to the fabulous sea on dolphin and whale watching trips, to a fun day out at Europe's largest water theme park, Siam Park.
The Tenerife region
Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and has plenty to offer in all seasons because of the excellent climate 365 days a year, therefore making it a great destination for both winter and summer, and the perfect getaway from the cold and long winter months.
If the quiet coast with its breathtaking landscapes, stunning beaches are not enough for you, the island has a range of sporting facilities such as golf, fishing, scuba diving, whale and dolphin watching, sailing, surfing, water skiing, windsurfing, tennis, cycling, walking/trekking excursions etc, and is within easy access to Sian Park, Europe's larges water park and other adventure parks. It also has the highest point in Spain.
Los Gigantes was declared a place of National Tourist Importance and since then has been developed in a tasteful way, not loosing the village effect that makes it that much more attractive, and it is the closest town to all the National Parks.
The name Los Gigantes, is derived from the magnificent cliffs that rise up dominating the view across the picturesque harbour. The Marina has a variety of bars, restaurants, water activies such us dolphin and whale trips, fishing, boat hire, scuba diving etc.
A Church is situated in the Plaza, often the venue for music, dancing, fiestas etc.

"Spacious well located apartment"
Clean and spacious apartment in small block, second balcony up to right of centre. Nice location at edge of town looking out over rooftops of Los Gigantes, steps opposite down to LG centre. Shops and … More

"Great view from private terrace"
Spacious apartment with v good sized private terrace / balcony
Everything worked and v clean - its a 5 - 10 min walk up / down the hill to town but we didnt find it a problem at all. Plenty of street parking for the hire car - though you certainly do not need a car. We always stay in Los Gigantes when in Tenerife as its v handy for the walking in the Masca area - and this apartment proved a good choice

"Comfortable, quiet and convenient"
Although it is up a steep hill it's not too bad if you are reasonably fit - I'm 52, smoke and drink but it didn't bother me too much. The balcony and roof terrace views are great and the balcony was excellent for sunbathing. The apartment had everything you need and was an ideal base. Los Gigantes is a very nice place with a small beach, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, including some English and Irish bars. There is "live" music most nights in at least one bar - although the music was very much "middle of the road" type stuff and not really my scene. There are lots of British visitors and residents in the area and it is the more mature that the area is geared towards - though there are younger people there too. We took a boat trip aboard the Flipper Uno hoping to see whales and dolphins - didn't see any - but still enjoyed the trip, very good value and good fun. Also recommend a trip to Masca, we went by public transport which was very cheap and efficient. Suggest buying a Bono Bus card. Puerto Santiango and Playa de Arena, which also have beaches and plenty of shops and bars, are also within walking distance of Colonial Parques. Suggest shopping around for bargain booze and cigarettes as prices can vary quite a bit. If you are not driving, I'd suggest booking a private transfer or taxi from/to the airport (40 mins) - you can book a transfer when booking the appartment. Bus transfers can take hours and there's no direct public bus service.

"A hidden gem"
I am still recovering from a wonderful time away after a late booked 11 day break.
Far enough away to be peaceful but on the verge of everything that you might require to give you a great time away. Located on a high hill overlooking the coastal area and the small Los Gigantes resort area. I hired a car as I have spinal arthritis and was admittedly worried about it playing up. This was excessive as most of what i sought was at hand or within short walking distance and the public transport I found was very regular. Use google maps and directions function and it gives you the full sp on journeys a-b via bus routes with their numbers and boy are they cheap.
Given my stay i needed two apts last one only for 2 evenings. This logistical pain was handled most proficiently by the property owner Carmen (Spaniard by birth, but lived in England most of her life so totally fluent) and her on-site colleague the beautiful Lillian. Nothing is too much to ask this pair; they are beyond words they are honestly that good. The internal amenities need updating TV OK but needs more English channels no DVD player Internet access available at reception (just ask for login key) but wi-fi is now becoming a standard in rooms. The girls told me they were onto these matters but would have to up prices. I would more than happily pay them given the service.
AROUND AND ABOUTS
Terrace sunbathing from mid-day onwards (entirely private if you wished to go natural).
A walk downhill to amenities, shop nearby, but a walk home (NO WAY) - doubt it get the bus (there are many)-taxis are many. Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago (short walk from flat takes you to here) and the latter is the place to be. Lovely spot. There is loads to see and do but I did nothing just relax.
Opposite ends of the place authentic spanish. Avioid the Italian downstairs under the complex. Drinks and snacks (microwaved) ONLY.
It is what it is a very cost effective way for a family to holiday and people that are able and willing to lay on everything for you. I was looking a hotel but was too late at the time of the year to find anything good eniough at the right price so I chose this option and was very h8appy with it.
See you again soon ladies, thanks.
