About the home

The apartment is ideally situated for a truly relaxing holiday. There is a lovely pool and a kiddies pool directly below the apartment, lovely sea and harbour views with magical sunsets.

Just a 5 minute stroll from the beach or, for the more energetic, an exhilarating walk along a cliff top walk to Amadores beach which has a great variety of shops, bars and restaurants.

There are ceiling fans which are very effective if it gets very hot. Large wardrobes. Selection of books, CDs and DVDs. We also have digital TV, some programs are available in English and there should soon be up to 6 english channels. The complex has recently undergone a big refurbishment and the railings are all stainless steel and conform to E.U. safety standards. A new tennis club has recently opened nearby and is available for visitors to use.

If you hire a car there is free parking on the street outside the complex.

The apartment is cared for by a local English lady. A small welcome pack is provided and she is available to answer any questions that you have and to handle any problems that might arise during your stay.

The Gran Canaria region

The Canaries are often referred to as the Islands of perpetual Spring time. It rarely gets cold in Winter or too hot in Summer. Bougainvillea blooms throughout the year and you can swim in the sea all year round. Inland the island is a continent in miniature with some spectacular views. For the more adventurous among you there is guided mountain walking which takes you to some really amazing parts of the island.

For the culture vultures there is a superb concert hall in Las Palmas which regularly presents classical concerts, Jazz and other concerts. In January/ February they hold a very prestigious international music festival. The Perez Galdos theatre has recently been refurbished and has a programme of Opera and Ballet productions throughout the year.

The Puerto Rico Resort area

Puerto Rico offers pretty well any activity that you could desire. On the beach there are jet skis, pedalos, small sail boats paragliding, water skiing etc. Deep sea diving is also available as is sport fishing. You can take a trip on a glass bottom boat, go looking at shark and dolphins and if you are youn at heart there is a pirate ship which offers exciting, albeit noisy voyages to secluded beaches. At the back of the resort there is an aqua park which is very popular with children.

Inland there are Jeep safaris, mountain walks, carp fishing. Visits to prehistoric cave dwellings and burial sites. You can go to a wild west show, an alligator farm, a reptilarium and, best of all, Palmitos Park with it's wide variety of local flora and fauna.

In Autumn there is usually a jazz festival in Puerto de Mogan just down the coast.
