About the home

Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment, on quiet well maintained complex, with large shared heated swimming pool and small children's pool. Great view of sea and Puerto Rico beach from apartment. Situated on lower part of hill, 5 mins walk to town centre and 10 mins to beach.

This modern apartment sleeps 5, with a well equipped kitchen with microwave, hob, oven, toaster, kettle etc. Extras include a DVD player, Playstation, iron, fans, safe, hair-dryer etc. Shops selling groceries, ice creams, papers, fresh bread few mins walk away. Excellent on-site bar and Mexican restaurant. A weekly change of towels and bedding is included.

There are lots of taxis available at the airport that are very efficient and reliable and also many airport transfer firms on the internet that can pick you up and drop you off at the resort or if you do decide to hire a car there is some free covered parking. Welcome pack of tea coffee, milk, water and biscuits included.

Lounge/ Kitchen area - Spacious lounge area with sofa bed for fifth guest, which is very large and comfortable. Large modern sideboard with plenty of drawers for storage. TV with satellite channels and DVD player with selection of DVDS to watch. Playstation 1 with a selection of games. Selection of books and games for you to enjoy. Ceiling fan.

Well equipped kitchen with fridge, hob, cooker, microwave, iron, ironing board etc.. Small welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, water and biscuits is included for you when you arrive.

Bedroom 1 - The main bedroom has two single beds, with plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. There is also a vanity unit, stool and mirror, with many plugs for electrical appliances. There is also a space for a travel cot, which is stored in the wardrobe. (Note if you require use of cot, you must supply your own bedding). There is plenty of light in the room through the large window, with views of Puerto Rico bay. Ceiling fan. Hair-dryer and safe.

Bedroom 2 - Smaller than main bedroom with two single beds, large chest of drawers and small window and fan. Large mirror.

Duvets are available on request.

Bathroom - Fully tiled bathroom with shower over bath, toilet, shower curtain, vanity unit and mirror, shaver point.

Dining area - Separate dining area with large round table and four chairs, large draw unit for storage.

Linen and towels are changed once a week. Please note you must provide your own beach towels.

Smoking is not permitted in the apartment but OK on the terrace!

Outside of the apartment is a small terrace with potted plants and patio table with 4 chairs. Great views of Puerto Rico.

Pool Area - Lovely large swimming pool, heated in winter months. Small children's paddling pool. Plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. Shower and toilet facilities. Great views of Puerto Rico from here.

On-site Crazy Horse Saloon Bar - a lovely friendly bar. If you want a quiet drink, try here the staff are very friendly and helpful. They sell snacks throughout the day. If you want a break from sunbathing pop in here for a nice cold drink and a read of the English newspapers. They have sky tv and show most of the major sporting events.

On-site Mexican restaurant - El Poncho, excellent food and great view of the resort from here.

There is limited covered parking if you want to hire a car and also plenty of free on-street parking outside the apartments.

WE ONLY TAKE BOOKINGS MONDAY TO MONDAY AT PEAK TIMES OF THE YEAR BUT IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ARRIVING ON A DIFFERENT DAY PLEASE ENQUIRE AS WE MAY BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE YOU. The accommodation must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure, however if the apartment is vacant after this time a later departure may be agreed.

A £50 per week non refundable deposit is required per booking. Balance due 4 weeks before departure. Should you find it necessary to cancel your holiday, we will require written notification and you will then be liable as follows - Prior to payment due date (4 weeks before departure) the deposit only will be forfeited. After the due date 50% of the total cost will be forfeited. Less than 7 days before departure date 100% will be forfeited. PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST ARRANGE YOUR OWN TRAVEL INSURANCE.

The Gran Canaria region

There is so much to see and do in Gran Canaria. When you're packing your suitcase you'll need little more than your cozzie, shades and suncream. All year sunshine means even in the winter you can get a tan.

Great places to visit include Maspalomas, take a ride on a camel through the sand dunes. Las Palmas, Gran Canarias capital, with a lovely promanade along the sea front and loveley churches, museums, shops and lively squares. Mogan, Gran Canarias answer to Venice, with white washed Canarian houses lining minature canals. Sioux City - experience a wild west adventure and tuck into a tasty barbeque and have free drinks all night! A great night out for families. There really is something for everyone!

The Puerto Rico Resort area

Puerto Rico is nestled in a rugged hilly landscape, it enjoys the best sunshine record on the island. It has a thriving marina with regular ferries to other parts of the island, along with glass bottomed boats, a pirate ship fishing trips etc. The traffic free promenade, sweeping horseshoe beach, waterpark, bars, restaurants and after dark entertainment combine to provide a relaxing or lively holiday.

The beach is man made but is sandy not like the black beaches you get in Tenerife. There are plenty of beach restaurants and cafe's along the sea front. Here you can also hire a pedaloe or go paragliding etc...and also hire sun beds and umbrellas. There are two other beaches nearby, Amadores, this is Puerto Ricos 2nd beach. This is a lot smaller than the main beach but it still has some nice sea front restaurants and it is usually more quiet here. You can actually walk from the marina in Puerto Rico to Amadores, it will take you about half an hour and is a lovely walk along the coast. Then there is Amfi beach nearby, this is a lovely white beach with a few shops and restaurants, all the accommodation here is time share but anyone can use the beach.

Shopping, Restaurants and Bars - There are two big shopping centres in Puerto Rico the biggest down at the bottom of the resort and one at the top of the resort called the Europa centre both have shops, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. There are also many good restaurants down by the harbour, many serving fish fresh from that days catch.

Excursions - You can book trips to other attractions on the island in the commercial centre here you can book trips for Sioux City, Camel Rides, Jeep Safaris etc. You can also catch the ferry from the marina to other parts of the island this goes daily to Arguineguin, Mogan and Amfi etc.

There is a water park in the resort itself, this is a great day out for everyone, it may not be the biggest on the island but it still has many great slides and has the added advantage that you can walk to it.

Fishing - there are many different boats that can take you out fishing, but you usually have to book in advance as they are very popular. The fishing here is excellent, with , sharks, barracudas, sting rays and tuna being caught regularly and if your lucky maybe a Blue marlin.

There are lots of activities for children to do whether its Crazy Golf, Swing Parks, Kids Discos, a waterpark, trampolines, sports activities the list is endless.

The resort really does have something for everyone whether you want a relaxing break or something a bit livelier you are sure to find it here.

Fly to Las Palmas airport from all international airports. (LPA) from the UK. Its around a 4 hour flight. Follow signs for SUR (South) on motorway GC1 all the way to Puerto Rico, approx 30mins. Taxi fares are normally around 55 euros each way. We can arrange cheaper transfers for our guests from the airport if required. Car hire is available at the airport. Coach transfers are available to book with some airlines when booking your flight.
