About the home

Two bedroom Self catering Apartment that sleeps 4 people.

Just across the road is a supermarket and just 5 minutes walk will take you to the Europa Centre, were there is more supermarkets, bars, restaurants etc and a children play centre. The local bus and taxi rank, shops, bars and restaurants are a 2 minute walk from the complex.

Puerto Rico is set in between two mountains in the south of Gran Canaria with 52 weeks of sunshine. This apartment is situated at the top of eastern side and looks down into the valley. There are two shopping centres, both having a good variety of bars, restaurants, and supermarkets.

All bed lined and towels are supplied and changed weekly.

The Gran Canaria region

52 weeks of sunshine.
The Island is called the mini continent as there is so much to see on this Island.
We have the sand dunes in Maspalomas, and the beautiful views from up in the mountains, and lots of lovely beaches even in the capital Las Palmas.
We are a duty free island so there is lots of bargains to be had.
great for families.

In Puerto Rico there is lots you can do to enjoy your holiday. A lazy day on the beach, either Puerto Rico beach near one of the two harbours or a walk along the coast will take you to Amadores beach with it many bars and restaurants set around the beach.

The Puerto Rico Resort / Amadores area

Take a glass bottom boat and go to Mogan, the locals call it Little Venice, a must see or jump on the local bus that will pick you up at the bus station next to the park in the valley and you can get to almost anywhere on the island. The buses are clean and cheap and better still on time. Just next to the bus station is the local post office and the tourist office.

In the summer months there is live entertainment in the park and a dance floor. Something for everyone in Puerto Rico.

From the harbour there are many boats going out daily for deep sea fishing, and also many trips are offered by boat such as going out to see the dolphins.
Water sports of every description are available on the beach and at the harbour.

“Good value, all necessary facilities and very clean” We had 3 weeks in the apartment so got to know the area very well. The apartment itself is faultlessly clean and has all necessary facilities. The views down to Playa Amadores and over to Teide on Tenerife are good. If you like a big shopping centre with bars, restaurants, shops and a taxi rank very close by, then this apartment will suit you. The island buses are very reasonable and offer a good timetable so we didn't need to hire a car, although the hills are steep so you need to like walking or use the excellent local taxis. The owners were helpful and refunded our damage deposit very promptly. On the negative side, we weren't too keen on the resort or it's array of British bars and restaurants and we didn't find Gran Canaria particularly appealing. But that is our taste and not a reflection on the standard of the apartment. The neighbours (many were permanent residents) seemed quite noisy but that's maybe because the walls are only single thickness. Overall, the apartment is very good and in a busy resort with lots going on.
