About the home

This is a well maintained one bedroom modern and airy apartment that has everything you need to make your holiday comfortable and one to remember, ideal for both couples and families alike. It is situated in a quite private area of the complex not overlooked by other residents but still less than 2 mins from the pool.

After a busy day out and about you can relax by the pool or on the terrace which boasts sunshine from early morning until late evening and enjoy the stunning sea views and glorious sunset's.
The apartment is on a small quite residential complex situated on the upper level of Puerto Rico but has the convenience of being within 5 minutes walk of the Europa Centre where you will find shops, restaurants, bars, play area for the children and crazy golf.

Both Puerto Rico Centre, Amadores and beaches are easily accessible either by foot, taxi or bus.
The friendly welcome from the locals and the fabulous weather will make you want to return year after year!

Bedroom - The bedroom has 2 single beds, wardrobe + coat hangers, with dressing table space & mirror a hairdryer plus ceiling fan.

Kitchen/Living Room - The kitchen is a fully fitted modern kitchen consisting of a full size oven, ceramic hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, iron, caffetiere, safety deposit box, cutlery etc for 4, cooking utensils and a selection of saucepans the breakfast bar with seating for 4 divides the kitchen from the living room which has a double sofa bed, ceiling fan, music system plus a selection of cd’s, t.v. [for dvd's only] and dvd player plus a selection of dvd’s, playstation plus a selection of games, books, magazines and board games.

Terrace - This is a large terrace that runs the entire length of the apartment which boasts day long sunshine and has views down the valley towards Amadores and out to sea. A built in seat runs the entire length and there is also a table with an umbrella and chairs and a sofa. It also has a retractable clothes line.

Bathroom - The bathroom houses the washing machine and has a built in shower, large mirror and plenty of storage space.

Other Information
Bedding and towels are changed weekly.
A cot is also available for hire [payable locally].
There are steps down to the apartment so it is unsuitable for the less able.
It is also strictly non smoking.
There are also ample off road parking spaces.
Change over days are flexible.

The Gran Canaria region

Gran Canaria is only a 4 hour flight from the UK which enjoys year round sunshine. There are attractions for everyone, whether you are visiting Gran Canaria with friends or the family it has something for everyone!!!

130 miles off the African Coast, Gran Canaria is the third largest and arguably the most luxurious of the Canary Islands. Probably the closest to a pure island paradise you will find in Europe, Gran Canaria offer everything you could wish for from an island in the sun.

Attractions on the island includes museums, monuments and historical architectural buildings that are extremely impressive , churches and botanical gardens. The views and scenery in the mountains and forests are spectacular as are the beaches and sand dunes!

If your into your watersports then it is a brilliant place to go for windsurfing, surfing, bodyboarding, deep sea fishing, parascending, jet /water skiing and sailing and has great coves for snorkeling and shipwrecks and marine reserves for scuba diving, there are also diving schools in Puerto Rico where you can take diving course's for beginners or for the more advanced.

At present there are 8 Golf Courses in Gran Canaria so with the island being so small you could enjoy them all!! They have all been designed by international golf course designers and all boast exceptional features.
And the golf course at Tauro is only a 5 min drive away from the apartment and Solobre Golf 20 mins.

It is also a Duty Free island so you can take advantage of the cheaper perfume/aftershave, cigarettes and alcohol.

The Puerto Rico Resort area

The popular resorts of Puerto Rico and Amadores are situated in the south of the island which is renowned for being the sunniest spot on the island, sheltered by the trade winds it is also one of the hottest! it is also famous for its beaches, duty free shop for perfume/aftershave, cigarettes and alcohol, souvenirs and variety of good restaurants.

Puerto Rico
The beach at Puerto Rico is a golden sandy beach which was imported from the Sahara, it has plenty of sunbeds, a sheltered swimming area and plenty of restaurants serving breakfast throught to evening meals, snacks throughout the day and of course ice creams.

There is also a water park and tennis for the more energetic and two crazy golf courses for the young and young at heart!

The commercial centre has plenty of varied and good restaurants serving a selection from steak to pasta and the ever popular chinese buffett ... eat all you can for €6.95 and plenty of shops for those shopaholics!

From either marina you can take fishing trips, go diving or paracending etc or catch the frequent ferries that run to other local villages.

But if its partying you want then there's no where better place than Puerto Rico, which comes to life at night with something for everyone from ballroom dancing to pubs and clubs, some not even shuting until 6am.


Amadores
Amadores has a fabulous beach of imported sand from the Bahams, plenty of sunbeds, a sheltered swimming area, a children's play are with climbing frame etc and again many excellent restaurants. As this is a relatively new resort it has superb changing and toilet facilities with lockers and plenty of parking is available. At the new Amadores Beach Club you can relax on cushioned sunbeds and be waited on all day or have a relaxing massage or manicure/pedicure in the hut on the beach. There is also crazy golf here too.

The two resorts are linked by a lovely coastal walk or you can catch the continuous bus that links the resorts and Europa Centre. Taxis are also plentiful and inexpensive. Buses also run regularly throughout the island so exploring is cheap and easy, there are plenty of cars for hire too.

Surrounding Area

Puerto de Mogan - is a beautiful fishing village comonly known as "Little Venice" on account of it's many canals, you can take the bus or enjoy the coastal view from the ferry. A lively and virbrant market is held on a Friday ...... don't miss it!!

Arguineguin - is a traditional fishing town where you may see the fishermen landing their daily catches of tuna. You can also take the ferry or catch the bus here and their market is held on a Tuesday.

Las Palmas - the capital city situated in the north of the island where old meets new - a wander around the historical area is a must.

Maspalomas - the famous sand dunes are situated here,e xpolore these by an unforgetable camel ride.

Flights are available from all major airports. Look at www.skyscanner.net, www.flydeals.co.uk , www.flythomascook.co.uk for flight details or any of the major tour operators have flights available to Las Palmas [LPA].
Car hire is available at the airport but is much cheaper if you book beforehand - try www.flythomascook.co.uk, www.holidayautos.co.uk, www.firstchoicecarhire.co.uk plus all the major car hire companies.
Buses also run to Puerto Rico from the airport.
Lairaga is approx 30 mins from the airport.
