The Mallorca/Majorca region
Mallorca“s climate is typically Mediterranean, with warm average temperatures and seasonal rains, the summer period being both hot and dry.
The capital, Palma, still retains its historical flavour sporting grand mansions and a magnificent Gothic cathedral in its bustling centre.
Puerto Pollensa area
The resort of Puerto Pollensa is 36 miles northeast of Palma. Originally a fishing village, Puerto Pollensa retains the time old tradition of the evening paseo or stroll. On warm, balmy evenings, everyone wanders up and down between the marina where the yachts are moored, past the pavement cafes and along the celebrated Pine Walk. The original Roman town of Pollensa can still be found three miles inland from the port, whilst the bay of Pollensa is home to a multitude of luxury yachts, as well as a mixture of colourful local fishing boats. The warm shallow waters and large beach make it especially popular for families with small children. The main feature of the resort is the dramatic Serra de Tramuntana mountain range that surrounds and shelters the town.
How to get there
