The Balearic Islands region
Majorca (Spanish and Catalan: Mallorca) is the largest island of Spain . It is located in the Mediterranean Sea and part of the Balearic Islands archipelago. The name derives from Latin insula maior, "larger island"; later Maiorica.
The capital of the island, Palma, is also the capital of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. The Cabrera archipelago is administratively grouped with Majorca (in the municipality of Palma). The anthem of Majorca is La Balanguera.
Like the other Balearic Islands of Ibiza, Formentera, and Minorca, the island is a popular tourist destination. In Germany, the United Kingdom and to a lesser extent, Ireland, where package tourism to the island started in May 1952, Majorca has remained a popular destination.
This resort has everything - wonderful scenery, beautiful sandy beaches and a laid-back friendly atmosphere. The sheltered horseshoe shaped bay is set against the stunning backdrop of the Tramuntana mountain range. No wonder it remains a favourite with families and couples who return time and time again.
Originally a fishing village Puerto Pollensa retains the time old tradition of the evening paseo or stroll. On warm, balmy evenings everyone wanders up and down between the marina where the yachts are moored, past the pavement cafes and along the celebrated Pine Walk as far as the elegant Illa D'Or hotel.

"We had a really nice time there"
Close to the sea, the flat offers a nice sight on the closeby mountains and the lovely garden that rounds the swimming pool. Daily handling is easy and air conditionning works allright when the weather goes hot. Service is most welcome with towels and sheets renewed before needed. The rooms are wide and accomodation is allright for 2 parents + 4 kids + 1 baby, or 2 x 2 parents + 2 kids + 1 baby. The swimming pool is a quiet place, never crowded, suits grown-ups as well as children. 300m walk from the Sea (Hotel Illa d'Or) and easy access from the express way that circles puerto de pollensa. A definitely recommandable solution for your family holidays.

"2nd time in this apartment"
We stayed here 3 years ago and having stayed in another part of Bellresguard last year returned here this year. The apartment is spacious, and large with 3 good sized bedrooms 1 king 5ft bed and 2 singles in each room. The lounge seats 5 with dining table and chairs for 6. TV with UK stations. The balcony is large with a table & 6 chairs and 4 sun chairs and gets some sun late afternoon. The shower pressure is good in both bathrooms and although they are the originals are in good condition. There is a new air conditioning system. The kitchen is probably the original but is well equipped. However, when we arrived it was quite empty - not even a bag for the bin. The last few apartments we stayed in had salt pepper oil kitchen roll dishwashing tablets etc but there was just enough toilet paper to last us till we got to the supermarket! I think we may have been the first to stay this season. The towels were of poor quality which was unfortunate and the bed linen was adequate. Having said that we were spoilt with the quality in the apartment last year so it may not be fair to be making comparisions. There was no kettle or hairdryer but the management company had this sorted within an hour. I had also asked them to make sure there was adequate cutlery as on our previous stay there had only been 6 of everything. They had taken this on board and there was plenty of new cutlery. There were 2 cereal bowls but no mugs . The complex itself overrides these issues as it is so peaceful. There are 18 apartments, and about 9 were occupied at some stage during our stay. This is only 1 of 2 complexes in Bellresguard that have sunloungers at the pool (albeit only 12) and this was the deciding factor for us. We wanted to be able to sit at the pool during the day and only Sangrila/Circe/Brite and Baco/Zeus seem to allow this. We have been going to Puerto Pollensa for many many years and it is still our favourite holiday destination, so much so that we had to make many trips to the airport this time to bring sons over and back as they also wanted to join us on a family holiday, a huge compliment to Puerto Pollensa and a joy for us to have them all together so that I could replicate a photo of them all on the Pine Walk taken in 2000. We have already decided to return again next year and there are still restaurants that we haven't gone to! Would recommend Na Ruixa, Celler la Parra, Coral, Trio, Pepes and Nico's Grill. We ate out every night - we may have stayed in if there was a BBQ but I don't think they're allowed in this complex. All in all a wonderful holiday - good time to go as UK schools aren't out so the resort wasn't packed and the weather was gorgeous.
