This villa in Puerto Pollensa offers ideal accommodation as a holiday home for those who wish to be in the Port with with or without a car as facilities are all within walking distance. The Resort Hoppa can be used to and from Palma airport if required.

Situated some 15 minutes easy comfortable walk to the centre, beach and Port this property offers spacious accommodation with good outdoor space and lovely terraces (315 metres of built area) and large attractive 21 ft oval swimming pool. The villa has a wonderful home feeling to it, after all it is our home! It offers generous accommodation to suit any family environment. There is full central heating throughout the villa plus 2 working fireplaces for added winter warmth. Air conditioning is available in all bedrooms for those very hot summer nights. Bed linen and towels are provided. Beach towels are not provided.

The accommodation consist of a large "L" shaped terrace lounge room with built in white display cupboards and a breakfast area which looks onto the pool and garden areas. There is plenty of seating in this room as well as a small tv. Large undercover terraces surrounding this area provide shelter from the sun for outside eating.

As well as the breakfast area, the Villa has a separate large fully furnished dining room with working fireplace and two additional small sitting / lounge / TV rooms, one with a working fireplace.

The second small lounge is beamed in decoration and can be used as a separate bedroom if required. The fitted white kitchen is complete with dishwasher etc. The washing machine is in the garage. There is a small guest WC off the hallway.

A marble staircase leads to upstairs and 3 double bedrooms all with fitted wardrobes. 2 of the bedrooms lead onto a huge terrace with wonderful views of the area. The third has double doors with views towards the mountains. All bedrooms have ac installed. There is a full bathroom plus an additional small shower room with toilet.

There are ample terrace areas, covered and uncovered at both ground and first floor levels, a patio garden area and good sized oval swimming pool.The pool meets new EU recommendations of pool safety, no fencing is necessary although obviously care must be taken at all times.

Additional information

Situated In the port with off road parking, quiet residential area with shops, bars and restaurants only a short walk away. Village square is a 15 minutes walk and sea a 10 minutes walk. 3 bedroom villa with an area which can be used as an extra bedroom, private layout but with mountain views, has both covered and open areas in the small garden.

The beautiful circular Bay is ideal for swimming and safe sailing and water sports. Boat hire is available nearby and boat trips also leave the Port. The port has many restaurants, boat trips and coach trips and public transport is excellent. For alternative trips from Alcudia a ferry will take you to Menorca and Ibiza can be visited from Palma on a high speed ferry.

Golf

2 very attractive courses 15 minutes drive away. Tennis courts and public pools 5 minutes away by car.

Travel

Palma airport is approx. 45 minutes drive away. Car hire is not essential as within easy walking distance to centre and beaches. A pre booked shuttle service from the airport can drop you a five minute walk from the villa and if booked collect you for your return too. (Resort Hoppa) Public transport is also very good locally.

Restaurants and shops are close by.

Distances

The villa is in the Port and the old town of Pollensa is six minutes drive away. Roman sites are in both Pollença and Alcudia and both have Sunday markets. Public transport to both are close by.

About the owner

The owner is a British qualified architect feasibility consultant who frequently advises buyers regarding foreign property purchase including residential, hotels and commercial property worldwide.

It was the owners wish to visit the property throughout the year and to be in an area where a car is not necessary. The owners liked the area of the Port as it is quiet and close to the town and seafront but sheltered from the main seafront winter sand storms. The villa is close to shops and restaurants whilst a short walk brings the centre of the town, harbour and the beautiful beaches.

Unique benefits of the property

The villa offers an excellent inside/outside environment. It offers wonderful opportunities for sunbathing on the many terraces and the undercover areas and terraces on ground level which give wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

A water storage tank supplies good water at all times which is especially an advantage at the heart of the summer. The villa has 250 metres of living space plus additonal 50 metres of terrace. For restricted mobility please call us to discuss prior to booking to ensure suitability. It has a marble staircase which care should be taken.

The large swimming pool accessed from steps is on one level and does not have a shallow and deep end. It is ideal for swimming. Children and non swimmers should be supervised at all times. The downstairs areas of the villa offers much living space including 2 small lounges and a terrace lounge breakfast room allowing for children to have their own space if required. There is a very large terrace/balcony off the two large bedrooms plus an additional terrace/balcony over the garage accessed by a side staircase.

The garden has undercover areas for outside dining and other areas are mostly paved in sandstone paving with decorative white mallorcan stones around the surrounding areas.

There is ample of room to park a car outside the villa.

The large terrace from the bedrooms offer lovely views of the surrounding areas.

Puerto Pollensa

Mallorca has many festivals during the course of the year with Pollensa having some of its own in addition. There are many wonderful places to visit including the famous caves, roman steps and of course the capital of Palma itself offering something for all tastes. For those who like water sports then Pollensa can offer these as well as boat trips in glass bottom boats or a ferry to Formentor which offers stunning views of Pollensa and the surroundings. The circular Bay had it's own wonderful personality and looks different each time it is viewed. Many people visit Pollensa for the first time and return year after year.

I welcome the review of our villa and take on board the comments. I would like to respond to some of the observations made. Our villa is not an ultra modern villa and I agree will never be. I do not suggest it is a ultra modern villa. It is our home costing us over £550,000. It is a typical Mallorca style of property built in a traditional way. Pollensa is a very expensive area and as stated by the guest many of the villas with beautiful landscaped gardens are rented for up to £3400 per week during the season. Our villa can not be compared to these as our rental price will indicate.

It has indeed been a long and very hot summer which brought a small earth tremor the week prior to the week referred. My son was present at the villa at the time. I contacted the guest to inform him of this and that a few tiles had been broken. I also informed him that they would be repaired and other minor work would take place during his stay to put right. This was out of our control and was agreed with the guest.

As for the decor, I am pleased that it was noted that the villa was clean and functional but would like to comment again that this is our home and as such our own personal taste. It may not be everyones ideal but I object and reject most strongly that the bedding was 1970 style. All bedding is completely replaced at the start of each season and added to throughout the summer. I take into account colour schemes when buying my bedding. An example of our taste of bedding can be seen in our photos. I am happy to provide additional photos if required. Quilt covers sheets and other essentials are bought from well known stores which 'never knowingly undersold' and is taken to Mallorca. Bedding and towels are refreshed for guests weekly but as this guest will confirm my housekeeper was contacted every other day to replace and add to. The cost of which was not forwarded to the guest and neither did we object. Neither did we pass on the cost of replacing a quilt which a child had solied as we understand these things can happen.

To conclude we employ excellent staff to help us maintain the villa. Money is spent continuously. We accept it may not be to everyones taste but we do our best to ensure that our guests enjoy their stay in our home and are happy to provide additional information if required.
