The Mallorca/Majorca region
This resort is famous for its wonderful scenery, beautiful sandy beaches and a laid-back friendly atmosphere. The bay is set against the Tramuntana mountain range. No wonder it remains a favourite with families and couples who return time and time again.
Originally a fishing village,Puerto Pollensa retains the time old tradition of the evening paseo. On warm, balmy evenings everyone wanders up and down between the marina where the yachts are moored, past the pavement cafes and along the celebrated Pine Walk as far as the elegant Illa D'Or hotel.
The Puerto Pollensa / Sandy Beach area
There are several beaches in the Pollensa area.
You will find plenty of suggestions for excursions in Majorca in the guide books and at the tourist office so we have just included a few of our favourites here:
Trip to Soller. If you do only one trip do this one since you get to see so much of Mallorca in one day.
Pollensa (Pollença) is a lovely inland medieval town with a bustling market on Sunday mornings. See the Calvario steps, Roman Bridge, Santo Domingo Cloister...
Cala san Vicente : A lovely quiet resort with 3 separate small bays. Try walking there and getting the bus back.
Palma is a wonderful, vibrant city with stunning architecture, an excellent new art gallery.
LLuc, Deia, Valldemosa.....are other options.
