Our stay at Villa Olivier in November 2011 was as enjoyable as on all our numerous earlier visits.
Eric & Pauline, Lionel and the maids are all very friendly, efficient and helpful.
The villa and grounds are beautifully kept. The pool is lovely and warm and the fact that large pool towels are supplied is a welcome bonus.
Olivier is very well equipped and has the luxury of WiFi and Ipod dock amongst its many other excellent features. With only a 3-4 minute walk to shops, bars, restaurants, prom and beach, it is in a great location but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the 'strip'.
My wife and I have already booked our next visit this spring!

"Beautifully appointed, high standard, private villa, great location!!"
I cannot believe anyone would have anything negative to say about this villa!! We stayed at villa Olivier in June as a holiday for my 30th birthday and we were not disappointed. The villa is in a great location and is very close to shops and lovely restaurants. We have just booked to stay here again for New Year this year. Yes there are bigger villas out there but in my opinion it would accommodate a family of 4 comfortably (especially with the 2 bathrooms) although there were only 2 of us.
You are asked to shower before entering the pool to remove excess suncream that might be plastered on but this is a typical request of most villas with private pools and where most suncream is water resistant it is never going to be totally washed off anyway. The pool does look bigger in the photos but in our experience that is always the case the way the photography is done for villa rental sites.
The fact that there is nothing built directly in front of the villa for us was a positive as there is no one looking in on the villa and when by the pool the high walls of the villa mean you cannot see this ground, I would not say it is an issue.
Inside the villa, the finish is beautifully appointed and there are no more vases and ornaments than there would be in a normal home and these touches are what makes the villa a perfect home from home. If we had children I would not have any concerns about bringing them to this villa.
Having done many villa holidays now I would rate this villa as the best without a doubt and this is the first time we have booked to go back to the same villa again, so that says it all. There is just no pleasing some people!

This is our 3rd time at the fabulous Villa L'Olivier and we will be back. The property is immaculate and obviously very well maintained. It is in a quiet residential area just 5 mins walk from the beach and a pleasant stroll in to the centre of Puerto del Carmen. The beautiful swimming pool is surrounded by sun loungers and overlooked by the terrace where you can dine outside but in the shade. Beautiful.

Great Villa, ideal location, very well equipped & lovely pool, excellent welcome basket and lots of attention to detail from the owners. Well done Eric & Pauline, 10 out of 10! This was our second visit and won't be our last!

"Immaculate villa but sadly we felt it was rather 'oversold'"
This villa made up the 2nd week of our stay in Lanzarote. The first week was in the old town and a villa the we felt was very much 'undersold'-it had the wow factor in many ways and although decoratively was not as nice as Villa Olivier it was 3 times the size, with private grounds, pool, BBQ, PS3, Pool table, full satellite etc in an exclusive area of the town. This for £400 a week less than Olivier.
We are a family of 4 with (at the time of visiting) our 2 and 5yr old daughters. When planning the visit we were reassured that the villa was suitable for our party, even with the steps and the decor etc.
However, on arrival and reading the welcome folder with the numerous 'rules' listed it stated the villa was in fact not suitable for young children-and we agree. Having to completely remove suncream before entering the pool was not 100% feasible due to the age of our children . The decor with vases and accessories (that yes made this villa a home not rental property) had to all be moved when we arrived (out of their reach). In honesty we did not feel we could relax. Our girls are very well behaved and respect property but they are very young.
The villa overlooks a piece of wasteland and you access up a side path with steps...again with the buggy etc not great and not the prettiest view. We stayed at this end of town the previous year and found that location considerably closer to all the amenities than Olivier-again this was highlighted due to the young ages of our children.
The pool, which we were very excited about did not give the expected 'wow' as we walked in-it is lovely but did not feel anything like the size stated-we can only assume due to its shape it has been measured at its widest parts, which are not truly representative of the overall size (due to the Jacuzzi section).
The fact you have to pay by coin meter for the air con seems a contradiction with this villa being marketed as the best you could expect.
The size of the villa would be fine for 4 people but is not particularly spacious-the three previous villas rented have all been larger than anticipated (we did a 2 villa holiday in 2010) so again our expectation would have been based on this to some degree.
We did not write in the visitors book as I do feel if you have little positive to say best say nothing, however this review has been prompted by a request to leave feedback on Tripadvisor.
Overall, I am very sad to say we would not return to Villa Olivier.I do not write this lightly as I know Eric the owner will be very unhappy with this. It seems that many visitors feel this villa is amazing, unfortunately we for us it simply wasnt the case-we feel this villa over promised and under delivered.
We are very sad to read that Villa L'Oliver did not meet your expectations and deeply regret that you were disappointed. The villa has been regularly let for some 15 years; we welcome back many returning customers and have never before received a complaint. We pride ourselves on offering a beautiful and immaculately maintained villa which we feel is accurately represented by the photographs and description.

We loved staying at Villa L'Olivier , it was in a great location close to the beach and just a short walk to the many bars and restaurants that Puerto Del carmen has to offer.
The quality of furnishings and comfort was excellent, and the welcome pack was great.
Having stayed in so many villas over the years in Lanzarote this was by far the best we have ever stayed in. We enjoyed it so much we will be returning in Feb 2012.
The cleaners were exceptional and did not disturb us at all .
Many thanks to Eric for letting us stay in such a lovely place.

It's even better than the pictures. My teenage children had lots to do and loved it. For myself and my husband it could not have been better. Everything is within easy walking distance.
It Was so easy to book and eric is extremely helpful and trustworthy. Also, Lionel the villa manager was on hand if you needed anything and offered advice on sightseeing etc.
I will definitely be returning to this villa as we had one of the most relaxing holidays ever.
Thanks again form the Hickey family.
