The Lanzarote region
Lanzarote is warm and sunny all year round. Puerto del Carmen is the island’s most popular tourist resort; it has beautiful sandy beaches, palm trees, restaurants, bars and a great variety of interesting shops. The villa is situated in Los Mojones, a quiet area not far from Puerto del Carmen’s Old Town, which is absolutely enchanting with its fishing village atmosphere. For those of you who enjoy taking advantage of the local nightlife, there is plenty to be found along the sea front, just a short walk or drive from the villa.
Puerto del Carmen / Los Mojones area
Set beneath a range of steep hills on the south coast of Lanzarote, Puerto del Carmen is the island's major resort. Its main feature is a spectacular two-mile (3km) golden beach. There are numerous beaches in the area running from Arrecife airport, Guacimeta, right through to the old town of Puerto Del Carmen.
There are a lot of fun things to do in Puerto del Carmen. And after spending the first three days of your holiday glued to a beach towel, a bit of sport might be just the thing. Puerto del Carmen offers a ton of sports activities, both in the water and out of it. Puerto del Carmen and the surrounding areas are full of beautiful landscapes and places to get away. There are also areas to golf nearby, and a new golf course has just been opened in Puerto del Carmen for those looking for a bit of sun-and-swing. The old town of Puerto Del Carmen is a picturesque fishing port containing a wide variety of fabulous restaurants.
Puerto del Carmen is the centre of the Lanzarote's nightlife and, being centrally located, is within easy distance of all the islands key attractions.
Through the month of February Lanzarote takes on a carnival atmosphere with Puerto Del Carmen providing the venue for one of the largest carnivals on the island, this is a spectacular event not to be missed.
