The Lanzarote region
Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands and is only 60 miles from Africa. It enjoys all year round sub tropical temperature, good beaches and plenty of shops bars and restaurants.
Attractions and interesting visits include the volcanic Timanfaya National Park, caves at Jameos del Agua, Elgolfo crater and the studio of artist Cesar Manrique.
Other popular resorts worth a visit are Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca. The Capital is Arrecife which sits in a natural harbour is also worth visiting as well.
Puerto del Carmen area
Puerto del Carmen has been a tourist resort for over 40 years and in this time has become a top holiday destination for many people in the UK and Ireland.
The resort which started life has a small fishing village now has many bars, restaurants, apartments and Hotels for visitors to choose from and will cater for those of all ages. It has a 5 mile long beach and a lack of high rise buildings in the area.
Puerto Del Carmen hosts a variety of shops which sell mainly Tourist Oriented products. The New Town hosts Bars, Restaurants and Tourist Shops. The Old Town has many restaurants including the popular La Cascada-Puerto, El Tomate & La Magnolia.
The Biosfera Plaza is a newly constructed shopping plaza, which includes many international brands and has entertainment facilities.
How to get there
Flights are to Arecife Lanzarote and are available from most major UK and European airports. Transfer time is about 25 minutes.

The walk down to the shops are bars and restaurants takes about 4 minutes.

"This is a nice small friendly complex just over the road from the larger Club Oceano and owned by the same company. I checked in at the Club Oceano and often used the Pool and bar restaurant there. I found no faults at all with the apartment and it was easy to walk down to the shops and bars. Good value and ideal for a quieter holiday. I would mention that the promenande and shops are just a few minutes walk down a slope. Many people seem to be staying much higher up the hill and I am glad I was not one of them !!
