The Canary Islands region
Nestled on the coast in the Southern central part of the island, Puerto Del Carmen is only a ten minute drive from Arrecife airport and is a convenient place from which to explore Lanzarote's tourist and cultural attractions.
Like many places in Lanzarote, Puerto del Carmen was originally a small fishing village and the old harbour is still a delightful place to visit, boasting some excellent seafood restaurants.
Puerto del Carmen
Although the resort has grown over the last twenty years - it now stretches along the whole six kilometres of golden sandy beaches - the town has been saved from the high-rise buildings that blight so many other destinations due to the strict planning restrictions.

"Value for money."
This is the 5th time we have visited the island and have used a different Villa each time. This Villa is definitely good value but there are a couple of downsides. The 2 fridges at the property do not freeze anything, hence we lost food due to this. There are also no fans in the bedrooms and though we asked the owner if she could supply the answer was no. We were expected to hire our own for the fortnight we were out there. The owner assured us that we would not need them but i would certainly recommend getting some as the bedrooms were boiling making it hard to sleep. Outside it could do with a bit more shade as the one umbrella made it awkward for more than 2 people to find shade. On the plus side it certainly was a suntrap.
The villa was perfectly positioned for the beach and the strip and also the shop for food was nearby. All in all we had a great time here and would recommend it.

"Fantastic Villa & Holiday"
I stayed here with my friends for a few days and it is one of the best villa's i have been to.
It has everything you would require from a self catering holiday and having the luxury of your own pool is a massive bonus !!
It is a couple of minutes walk to the beach, which you can see if sitting on the front porch.
Great range of restaurants and bars within walking distance.
Would definately stay there again and would recommend it to others.

"An excellent, value for money, home from home!"
We have now stayed at Villa Alfresco three times. We stayed the entire month of July 2012.
On arrival, the villa was spotlessly clean, and a Welcome pack, of tea, coffee, milk, bread and a nice bottle of wine, awaited us. We had our 2 teenage children with us, and when we were in the villa, the full Sky TV package made sure they kept up to date with their sports, etc.
The pool is a great size, considering it is only a 2 bed villa, and the sunshine is there all day, until early evening.
The villa is in an ideal location, about 200 mts from the promenade. The hustle and bustle of PDC is about a 15 min stroll, Matagorda about the same in the opposite direction. A late night taxi home from either of the resorts is approx €4.50
We used the tennis courts etc at The Lanzarote Village hotel, which is almost directly opposite the villa, very reasonably priced.
The only down side of the villa, there has to be something, is there is no BBQ or WiFi.
If it had these, it would be a definite 10 out of 10.

"Fabulous villa and pool"
We stayed at Villa alfresco as a group of women for a long weekend in June 2012, the villa is fully equipped for your every need, and in a great location, just far enough away from the noise, but close enough to walk down to the seafront if you fancy a meal or a " lively bar" for the evening. There are two grocery shops nearby, great choice of bottles of wine and really good prices, The pool is amazing and was heated to just the right temperature so as to avoid that Ooh moment when you first get in! the villa itself and the gardens were spotless and passed even the most stringent test from the one OCD member of our group. All in all Excellent value for money and we would definitely all book again.
