Puerto del Carmen area
Puerto del Carmen is the island’s main tourist resort and is situated on the coast only a ten minute ride from the airport in the southern central part of Lanzarote.
Originally a small fishing village, it has become one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Canary Islands.
One of it’s main attractions is the six-kilometre long beach of golden sands bordering the quiet waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
It is rare to encounter so many amenities in one place. An ideal year-round climate, a unique volcanic landscape, a friendly and welcoming local population, traditional folklore and cultural festivities, beautiful clean beaches, tennis, golf, nautical sports etc.
How to get there
Flights go from most UK airports to Arrecife. Arrecife airport is approx 15 minutes by taxi to our apartment. Approx cost 11 Euros.
Car hire is not essential but if you wish to independently explore the island there are several places nearby where you can arrange hire.
There is an inexpensive regular bus service which takes you to the harbour area of Puerto Del Carmen or to Arrecife town dropping off at different places on the way.
