This attractive, single storey villa is in a residential area, just a few minutes walk to the sea and a superb selection of restaurants, bars and shops. It benefits from an electrically heated swimming pool and nearby tennis courts which can be hired by guests staying in the villa. For larger groups or several families nearby Casa Pipa and Casa del Rio can also be rented.
Interior
This bright and spacious villa is modern in design and comfortably furnished. It has an open plan living room with a high vaulted ceiling and a breakfast bar connecting it to the well-equipped kitchen. The villa has two attractive bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed, an en-suite bathroom and there is a bedroom with twin beds which has the use of a second, separate bathroom. Both of the bathrooms are large and very well appointed. Casa Julia can accommodate 4 people in the existing bedrooms and a further child under12 on a fold-a-way bed.
Exterior
An extensive, partially covered sunbathing terrace surrounds the electrically heated 8x3.5 metre swimming pool which is accessed by ladder steps and has a pool-side shower. Ample sunbeds are provided for soaking up the long hours of Lanzarote sunshine and there is a patio table and chairs under an awning, which overlooks the swimming pool. Together with a barbecue this area is perfect for al fresco dining.

The Lanzarote region
Lanzarote is the most popular all year-round villa holiday destination in the Canary Islands. Only 100 kilometres from the coast of Africa, Lanzarote has a year-round warm climate and a wonderful selection of extraordinary private holiday villas. Less than four hours flying time from most European cities, Lanzarote offers superb beaches, facilities and lots of activities for the entire family. Lanzarote has been designated a World Biosphere Reserve for its miles of glorious beaches and its dramatic, fascinating scenery created by its volcanic past.
Throughout the island, overlooking beaches, in villages and resorts there is an excellent variety of local and international cuisine, much specialising in its wealth of local fish. The island’s small size and reasonable roads, coupled with inexpensive car hire, makes self-drive an attractive option giving visitors complete freedom to tour the island at their leisure. Two sophisticated world class marinas attract the international yachting fraternity and offer superb sea excursions, game fishing and boat charters. Geographically part of North Africa, but benefiting from the cooling effect of the surrounding Atlantic and culturally as well as politically part of Spain, Lanzarote is an established, favorite, year round villa holiday destination, with many families returning year after year and through the generations.
The Puerto del Carmen / Los Pocillos area
Casa Julia is situated in the residential Los Pocillos area of Puerto del Carmen and has the enormous benefit of being only a few minutes walk to a large, golden sand beach. Los Pocillos is set apart from the main resort and is a popular choice for villa holiday makers, wanting to be located away from the busiest tourism, whilst being within easy access to the many attractions of the resort. A large supermarket, several restaurants and bars are located near to the villa and a four star hotel welcomes non-residents to use their facilities, including tennis courts.
A wide beach front promenade links the main resort of Puerto del Carmen in one direction and the capital of the island, Arrecife in the other. It passes 6 kilometres of glorious beaches, shops, restaurants, bars and resort activities. For the young at heart, Puerto del Carmen, the largest resort in Lanzarote and has the best selection of night life, including a casino. A vast variety of sporting activities and entertainment are available in the resort and nearby, including tennis, go-karting, mini-golf, bowling, quad, bike and Sedgeway rental. The promenade ends by the picturesque old harbour area, which has an excellent selection of bars and restaurants with panoramic sea and mountain views.
Most of the beaches in Puerto del Carmen fly the Blue Flag, awarded by the EEC for cleanliness and lack of contamination and offer sun beds, parasols and water sports. Rancho Texas, a small exotic theme park is located approximately a twenty minute walk from the villa. It is set in expansive sub-tropical gardens and houses a variety of exotic animals including buffalos white tigers, pumas and Nile crocodiles. There are daily shows of sea lions, birds of prey and parrots plus pony and canoe rides. It comes to life in the evenings with fun-filled Wild West nights for all the family, with barbecues, cowboys, lasso shows and line dancing.
The exclusive marina at Puerto Calero is 10 kilometres from the villa. It is a beautiful setting in which to have a meal or drink in one of the many restaurants, while enjoying the activities of an international marina full of stunningly luxurious, jet-set boats. The villa is ideally located for exploring the beautiful island of Lanzarote. Los Pocillos is approximately 20 kilometres to the resort of Costa Teguise. Here the islands water park, the biggest aquarium in the Canary Islands, a beautiful 18-hole golf course and world class wind surfing schools are located.

It is not essential to hire a car to enjoy the amenities of Puerto del Carmen and Matagorda, however car hire would be recommended to explore the beautiful island of Lanzarote and its many attractions.
