About the home

This very central recently refurbished apartment has twin beds in the bedroom and a pull out sofa bed in the living room that can accommodate two more guests.

The roomy Living Room has a TV/DVD player with cable TV including RTE 1 & 2 and ITV. The apartment contains a kitchen/breakfast area which has a fridge/freezer, double hob, electric kettle, microwave/grill oven, toaster, Large Fan, hair dryer, iron & ironing board.

There is laptop wifi access available in the apartment and at Reception & the Pool Area for keeping in touch with family and friends.

The spacious bedroom has two single beds, lockers, fitted wardrobe with hangers and a chest of drawers. There is an easily operated safe in the wardrobe for peace of mind at no extra charge.

A highchair is available for guests with toddlers (a godsend according to one guest). A cot can be rented locally for €20. This can be arranged for guests before they arrive.

The bathroom has been newly tiled with a shower unit and a washing machine for long lets.

The balcony has chairs and a table to enjoy the view while relaxing with a cool drink. A cloths horse is also available to dry any bits and pieces. The balcony is south facing so you'll have breakfast in the sun.

The Ocean Lanzamar complex is very centrally located between the New and Old Town (5 minutes from the main beach strip). The Biosfera Plaza shopping centre is just 4/5 minutes away towards the Old Town and a very large SPAR Supermarket is across the street from the complex. The Ocean Lanzamar boasts a large recently renovated and heated swimming pool with also a kiddie's pool and kiddie's play area.

A 10 minute drive from Arrecife airport, the Ocean Lanzamar complex is readily accessible and easy to find. Direct flights available from the UK and Ireland through Aer Lingus and Ryanair. Car hire available at airport but bargains can be got from local car hire companies.

The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote is the perfect year round destination due to its mild dry climate, minimal rainfall and cool sea breeze. Suitable for families with children to couples young and not so young, it is a fascinating island of unusual beauty and vivid contrasts that has a character all of its own. Lying just 60 miles away from the coast of Africa, Lanzarote enjoys a climate of clear blue skies and endless sunshine. Lanzarote is also an excellent venue for watersports enthusiasts as windsurfing, snorkelling and aqualung diving are popular and plentiful. Travel around the island is simple by using public transport or hiring a car which is very reasonable. A visit to the incredible lunar landscape of the Timanfaya National Park, home to Fire Mountain, should not be missed, while the natural caverns at Jameos del Agua, with its breathtaking views, is also well worth a visit. For anyone with even a passing interest in art, the César Manrique Foundation is spectacular where you get an insight into the raison d’être behind Lanzarote’s unique architecture.

The Puerto del Carmen area

Puerto del Carmen is the longest established — and probably best known — resort on the island. Nestled on the coast in the southern central part of the island, it is only a 10 minute drive from Arrecife Airport and is a convenient place from which to explore Lanzarote’s tourist and cultural attractions.

Like many places in Lanzarote, Puerto del Carmen was originally a small fishing village, and the old harbour is still a delightful place to visit, boasting some excellent seafood restaurants. Although the resort has grown over the last twenty years — it now stretches along the whole 6 kilometres of golden sandy beaches — the town has been saved from the high-rise buildings that blight so many other destinations due to the strict planning restrictions

“Nice apartment, close to shopping centre & beaches” I was on holidays here with my sister towards the end of September. The taxi from the airport took only about 10 minutes, and cost €16. We managed to get a taxi back for €10 in one of the small shops down by the seafront! We shared the twin bedroom and it was plenty big for the two of us. Think you would comfortably house 3 people here using the sofa bed, but 4 might be a bit of a squash. The apartment is on the 2nd floor of the complex, and there was a lift available. The pool is a good size, and wasn't busy most days, had to it myself a few times. They have a really good barrier around the outside of it, and the gates can only be opened by someone I'd say at least 5 foot tall, so it's great to keep the small kids out. There was also a pool table, and a computer room (didn't use these). The wi-fi was a bit hit and miss. I didn't see anyone on reception for the first few days we were there, so we couldn't get the password. When there was someone on reception, she was very friendly and helpful. The apartment has a microwave, tv, hair dryer, fridge, washing machine, hob and kettle - everything you'd need on holidays. The balcony is nice and overlooks the pool and gets the sun in the morning. Security: Outside access is controlled by a code, and there is a safe in the room to store valuables. We were able to store two SLR cameras in this, so it's quite a good size. Nearby area: There is a spar supermarket just across the road and the prices there are quite reasonable. There is also the Biosfera shopping centre about a 5 minute walk down from the complex. This was a great spot for a bit of shopping, some really good bargains in clothes and shoes. Also would recommend the tuna salad in the cafe restaurant there! :-D The walk to the old town or new town are about 15 minutes either way, and both have lots of good restaurants and shops.

“Absolutely Fantastic” We have just returned from Puerto Del Carmen having stayed in this apartment. It was absolutely fantastic with the washing machine, cot and highchair a godsend with our 9 month old daughter. Superb location with all facilities nearby and would highly recommend this property to a friend. The only downside was the swimming pool was not heated during our stay which made it a little cold for baby. All in all this apartment enhanced our stay in Lanzarote.

“Modern apartment in well run complex” We stayed in the Lanzamar in August 2011 and had a wonderful time. The apartment was clean and roomy and had all the conveniences that we needed for a relaxing break away. Ester at Reception was very helpful and obliging and the pool area had a plentiful supply of sunbeds even though there was a good crowd staying. The Lanzamar Complex is very central within walking distance of shops, beach and restaurants and we'll be staying there again.

“Great location near to old and new town.” Apartment could do with a bit of refreshment paint etc overall was comfortable for the holiday and had everything you need was great having washing machine in the apartment .
