The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The Costa Calida or ' warm coast 'enjoys over 300 sunny days per year and is therefore an excellent holiday destination all year round.In addition to summer temperatures in the 30,s it is also a great winter sun destination with winter temperatures in the 20s during the day. The Bay of Mazarron has many beautiful beaches, rocky coves, interesting spanish fishing villages and the thriving, truly Spanish town of Puerto de Mazarron. It is set against a backdrop of magnificent mountains.
The cosmopolitan and historic town of Cartagena is located 20 minutes drive from the apartment. It is a main terminal for mediterranean cruise ships and ferries to the Balearic islands. It offers all that you would expect in a sophisticated modern city: restaurants,tapas bars, shopping , Roman remains,other historic sites of interest, clubs and varied night life. Yet it has a an 'old world' feel to it.
Puerto De Mazarron area
The village of Isla Plana will cater for most of your everyday needs including some shops, excellent restaurants and a superb tapas bar with a large terrace where local spanish musicians entertain the whole community at fiesta time.
The bustling seaside town of Puerto de Mazarron is about five minutes away by car or bus, although it is also an easy cycle ride or a pleasant stroll along the coastline. Puerto de Mazarron has a large and busy harbour which caters for a variety of boats ranging from the local fishing fleet to the visiting yachts.
Diving, sailing,golf, walking, mountain biking and go-cart racing are all available locally. Ten pin bowling is available ten minutes drive from town in Campasol.Many of the hotels and restaurants arrange live music events throughout the year. These are advertised in a free local newspaper (in English). Hacienda del Alamo golf course and Academy is 35 minute drive.
Fresh fish is taken to the town fish market each day. You can also buy fresh fruit and vegetables at this market which is in the centre of town.The wide range of excellent restaurants, cafes and bars cater for all tastes and price ranges. There are excellent shops and boutiques including 'holiday shops' with everything for the holiday maker.
How to get there
Fly to San Javier airport,Murcia( about 45 minutes by car to the apartment). Cheapest flights tend to be with Ryanair, Globspan and bmibaby.

Further details indoors: The spacious lounge is furnished in a modern and comfortable style which includes a two seater sofa and a three seater sofa (that converts to a double sofa bed) , a television with DVD, a dining table and four chairs. The lounge opens on to the balcony terrace which has uninterrupted stunning views over the bay located 100 metres from the apartment.
Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and also open onto the terrace. All rooms have air-conditioning / central heating installed. Patio dining table and chairs are provided.
Access to this third floor apartment is by a spacious lift or by the stair. The building has secure access.
Further details outdoors: The apartments enjoy private access to their shared swimming pool, paddling pool and garden area. Mature palm trees beside the pool offer shade, or for the sunshine enthusiast the garden is supplied with decking and out -door showers.
The pool and gardens have uninterrupted views of the beach which is less than 100 metres away and can be accessed directly.
The apartments also share access to their private tennis court which can be used at any time because of flood-lighting. Private parking is available at the front of the apartments.
The apartments are situated on a headland between two bays. One offers an extensive sandy beach which is safe for swimming and is also used by surfers. The other bay is more secluded and lined with pebbles and is ideal for snorkelling /diving.
The rocky outcrop ( or Mojon ) has been provided with paved paths that are lit at night time offering a romantic stroll to watch the sun go down across the bay.This is also a favourite spot for rod fishing.

This apartment is privately owned and is managed for us by an English speaking Spanish agent whose office is close by in the village of Isla Plana. His staff are very approachable and manage the cleaning, provide linen etc.
A 15 % deposit payable to ourselves at the address shown below secures a reservation. The balance is payable on arrival when keys are collected from our Spanish agent.
