Home description
Located in a privileged position within La Paz, Puerto de la Cruz's premier residential area, the apartment is close to an unrivalled selection of shops, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, catering for all tastes and budgets.
A refreshing contrast to some of the island's Southern resorts, the chic resort of Puerto de la Cruz is certainly a stylish place, where couples dress up in the evening to sample any number of fine restaurants, tapas bars and smart cafés, literally spilling from beautiful balconied colonial buildings dating back to the 1700s.
Lunar landscapes and a dormant volcano feature in Tenerife’s national park. The breathtaking scenery around Mount Teide includes spectacular crater zones, formed when the volcano was last active over two centuries ago.
You can park up at roughly 8,000 feet and walk the final 4,000 feet, a truly fantastic experience, as you can feel the oxygen levels deplete as you climb higher. Those feeling less energetic can simply take the cable car straight to the summit – an unforgettable experience which, on a clear day, will reward you with fabulous views of the whole of Tenerife and its Canarian neighbours.

The Tenerife region
All year round sun, a beautifully temperate yet warm climate, averaging 22 degrees in the winter months, and 25-28 degrees in the summer.
A refreshing contrast to some of the island's Southern resorts, the chic resort of Puerto de la Cruz is the oldest on the island and, although especially popular with more mature visitors, certainly not staid. In the evenings the old town hums with life and everyone enjoys a walk through the charming pedestrianised plazas, perhaps stopping by at the Café de Paris for a speciality alcoholic coffee and cake.
Puerto de la Cruz / La Paz area
During the day, Puerto (as the locals refer to the town) is busy with shoppers taking advantage of Tenerife’s tax free status, as well as people relaxing at the town’s delightful Lago de Martianez, a fascinating leisure complex, based on sky blue pools of sea water, fountains, palms, and sculptures, designed by the renowned Lanzarote artist Cesar Manrique.
If ocean waves are your preference, Playa Jardin to the west of the town offers a broad strand of fine, volcanic sand, surrounded by an extensive maze of palm trees and deep black volcanic boulders.
Above the town centre lies the celebrated Jardin Botanico, adjacent to the premier district of La Paz. In 1788, King Charles III of Spain ordered the creation of this garden so that a wide collection of tropical species might be grown in an appropriate climate, while still remaining on Spanish soil.
Much of this spectacular garden consists of an oasis of tropical plants dating from the 18th century, designed to accommodate species from the New World put here to acclimatise before being transferred to mainland Spain. Look for the amazing giant South American fig and the twisted, tangled rubber tree.
No trip to Puerto is complete without a visit to Loro Parque, home to the world’s largest parrot collection, as well as alligators, dolphins, sea lions and other exotic species, all located in beautifully maintained and sympathetically designed grounds. Don’t miss the king penguins, housed in a self-contained eco-system that boasts its own snow.
