The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

What was just a small Andalusian fishing-village ,Marbella/Puerto Banus, has been turned into one of the most exciting holiday resorts along the Mediterranean coast and one of the favourite places of the rich and beautiful. It was, however, in the 90's when Marbella began to be recognized as a "Universal City". The political action of Mayor Jesus Gil in the last decade of the 20th Century has significately developed the city. The Infrastructure, Cultural Centres, sporting installations, Municipal Offices, Golf Courses, New Avenues, Parks, etc and the encouragment of investors to come to the city have made Marbella/Puerto Banus a city to be visited by ALL.

Great beaches, great climate (with an average temperature of 18,7 deg.C all the year) and it only rains occasionally in November and March (the rain being insignificant the rest of the year), the wind blows frequently from the East and the weather is sunny more than 320 days a year.

Marbella offers a never-ending list of places of natural beauty mixed with avenues, parks, botanic gardens, the promenades, leisure areas, sports, gastronomy and entertainment that will make your stay highly enjoyable.
Puerto Banus is named after José Banús who was a real estate developer working in Andalucia and the Marina is one of the most important ports on the Mediterranean coast.

There are 915 tying-in points on the two piers, Ribera and Benabolá. In the clear blue waters the most luxurious yachts in the world have anchored and slept: the Nabila of the magnate Adnan Kashoggi, the Príncipe Abdulazis, the Tritona, and the Shaf. The port has been declared a Centre of International Tourist Interest and among its many honours has the Gold Medal for Merit in Tourism.

Real-estate developer José Banús took three years to build this famous marina and it was fomally opened in 1970 by Prince Rainier of Monaco and his wife, Grace Kelly. It cost 915 million ptas (€5,499,261)

Puerto Banus / Mistral Beach Club area

With hundreds of restaurants to chose from in and around Puerto Banus/Marbella there is always somewhere new to go.

But there are many old favourites including Picasso's, De Bruno Italian restaurant's and Dalli's Pizza Factory if you have a young family or Liquid lounge for the young and trendy, Los Banditos, Restaurant Regina's or Zen for a relaxing evening, or Ocean, Nikki's, Puro or Mistral Beach Bars for a special day by the Sea for food and fun.
For shopping, there is a Saturday morning Street Market by the Bullring in Puerto Banus for every nic-nak and more, El Cortes Ingles department store and the designer boutiques in Puerto Banus and the huge shopping mall at La Canada in Marbella.

Gibraltar is less than an hour away by car, take your passport and go over to Africa on foot for the day on a ferry.
Try the huge long beaches of Costa de la Luz, or the old town of Marbella and its medival cobbled narrow streets.

Closer to home and for the real Spain, go to San Pedro or Benhavis, two very tradional local Spanish towns.
Finally, How many Golf courses do you want ?

Try the cheaper ones at Los Najancos,Los Arqueros, Guadalmina, El Paraiso and Santa Clara at around 70 Euros or go down to Valderrama for one europe best AT 290 Euros a round.

Flights Out of London are regular to Malaga and depart from Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted airports.
From the south of England, cheap flights to Spain are available from Bournemouth, Bristol, Exeter and Southampton.
The midlands is well-served by regular departures out of East Midlands and Birmingham, while from the north of the country it's possible to catch direct flights to Malaga from Blackpool, Doncaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.
Elsewhere, services to Malaga also fly from Edinburgh, Glasgow's Prestwick and International airports and Belfast International.
Airlines flying from the UK to Malaga
Alongside British Airways, which flies to Malaga from London Gatwick and London Heathrow airports, a host of low-cost airlines also offer cheap flights on the route.
Currently, easyJet offers the greatest variety of services, while bmibaby, Jet2.com, Ryanair and Flybe also fly the route.
Furthermore, Aer Lingus offers flights from Northern Ireland, while Thomas Cook and Thompson also offer flights, often in combination with accommodation at one of the many hotels along the Costa del Sol.
Taxi's from the airport are between 70-90 euros each way so I would strongly recommend a rental car for convienence as Marbella and Puerto Banus are not small resort holiday destinations but large beach front towns with lots of large open spaces and plenty of places to visit locally.
Car hire is easy, grab your bags from the carosal, down the slopping exit and straight into the car rental area. Go on car hire comprison web-sites for cheapest upto date prices or I can organise this for you though a contact who organises car hire in Spain.

There is lift to the first floor to access the apartment and the area surrounding the complex is very flat due to its close proximity to the beach.

A superbly relaxing and restful 2 weeks in an idyllic spot.

The apartment was just as it described on the website, it had everything one would wish for.

The grounds were beautifully looked after and provided lovely views from the terrace.

We will return.

Many thanks

Adele & Neil Longford.

Fantastic!! We had 2 young children and the apartment gave us the home from home feel, plus with a
