A lovely Penthouse apartment, set over 2 floors, which will suit families, golfers, or groups alike.

The property is set in La Maestranza, located in Nueva Andalucia, a suburb of Puerto Banus, and offers a super base for your holiday. The complex is within walking distance of everything you will require, and is a peaceful, tranquil location, fully gated, with 24 hour security on hand, but only a few minutes’ walk from Puerto Banus. There are 3 swimming pools, one of which is heated for the winter, and plenty of sun beds and gardens for relaxing while soaking up the sun.

The apartment itself offers a real home from home. There are 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin. Both bedrooms have fully en-suite private bathrooms, and lots of storage space! The lounge is spacious and bright, with a dining area for 4 people, and leads on to a lovely sunny terrace, (one of three sun terraces at the property), with great views across to La Concha mountain. There is a TV with satellite (which offers Sky free view system with many British channels)
The kitchen is fully equipped, with fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven/hob (electric), microwave oven and iron/ironing board. Air conditioning (hot and cold) is standard, linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. Should you need internet access, this is provided free of charge at the Cafe/Bar next to La Maestranza.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

The Costa del Sol (Coast of the Sun) is justly renowned for its marvellous year round climate. There are on average more than 320 days of sunshine per year and the average temperature is over 20 degrees C. This rises sharply during the summer months, peaking in July and August, but the heat is always 'dry' without stifling humidity levels.

There is a lot more to the Costa del Sol than one might think, lots of great, fun places to go and visit, but also plenty of cultural attractions - the emphasis in the area is always on the outdoors, and you will never be bored whether its family-orientated activities you're looking for, nightlife, long relaxing walks, or just chilling on the beach or by the pool...oh, and of course, golf! There are currently 54 courses on the Costa del Sol, La Maestranza itself is within 10 minutes drive of at least 7 courses, most of which are well-established. Lots of new courses are also taking shape - we can put you in contact with specialist golf companies who can offer serious discounts on green fees.

There are lots of different trips and days out available, we provide plenty of ideas and information in the apartment and will be happy to help you decide what the good choices are...one great feature locally is the daily Kids' Camp, a couple of minutes away, the children are fully supervised in a range of fun activities, giving their parents a well-earned break for a few hours!

Puerto Banus / La Maestranza area

You will never be bored here!

Puerto Banus is a Port located within the town of Marbella. La Maestranza itself is located in Nueva Andalucia, which is the residential part of Puerto Banus. The area is renowned as a retreat for the rich and famous - when you walk down to the Port itself (around 15 minutes), you cannot fail to notice the huge yachts moored there, several of which are owned by some of those rich and famous people! There are many fabulous restaurants, designer shops and boutiques, but also some great value choices of places to eat and drink, and of course shop. There is a huge El Corte Ingles Department store (similar to John Lewis), with a hypermarket (Hipercor) on the ground floor - all tastes are catered for. The outdoor Saturday market is a treat not to be missed, offering opportunities to get some great deals on clothes, handbags etc - be prepared to bargain with the stall-holders!

The atmosphere in and around the area is generally relaxed (don't forget the 'mañana' culture!) and friendly, people are generally very welcoming to tourists as they recognise their importance to the local area.

We can recommend a visit to Ronda, about 40 minutes inland through the most spectacular scenery. Some great views and culture to be found here - Ronda is also home to the oldest Bullring in Spain, which is still used once a year during the local Fiesta. This is open most days to the public (without the bullfighting) and provides a wonderful history of the area.

Gibraltar is also around 40 minutes drive - if you're keen on military history (or duty free booze and cigarettes!) it’s a worthwhile trip, take the cable car to the top of the Rock for the views then it’s a gentle walk down past the Barbary Apes (safe and friendly, thankfully). You can pick the cable car up again at its midway point going down.

Lots of other places to go - Seville, Granada (the Alhambra Palace), Malaga itself (much more than just an airport), Cordoba, and plenty of white villages like Casares and Mijas within easy reach. If its winter and you're feeling adventurous, plenty of people go skiing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains for the day - it’s a two and a half hour drive, but it can be done, and it will seem strange leaving 20 degrees at sea level to go up into the mountains (where you may need snow chains for your tyres!)

For families with children, there are countless places to go - if you can drag them away from the pools/sandy beaches at Puerto Banus or Marbella/Kids Camp etc! Selwo Wildlife Park is a great day out, the animals roam a huge site relatively untethered (no cages), but everything is very well organised and supervised as you travel around in jeeps and open top buses. There are water parks for the children down at Fuengirola and Torremolinos, and a theme park (Tivoli World) at Benalmadena which is great fun.

Loads of other activities as well, including diving, surfing, swimming, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, wind-surfing, water skiing, mountain biking, mountaineering, paragliding, the list is endless!

Local Fiestas run right throughout the year, each town has its own Saint, and each likes to put on a great show and party to beat their neighbours. If you have particular interests, please ask for further information and we will try to help.

How to get there

Lots of good flight options - Easyjet/Ryanair/Monarch/Jet2 etc.

Malaga is 40 minutes away by car, as is Gibraltar.

We try to make your stay as pleasant as possible, to ensure you can relax and focus on enjoying yourselves. That's why the emphasis with this apartment is your comfort and we try recreate a real home from home environment for you and your friends and family.

This is a lovely complex, safe and secure, intimate but with a lovely spacious feel to it. There are 3 pools in total (1 heated), plus children’s shallow pool. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and have lots of shaded areas which is particularly helpful in the summer. There are plenty of sun beds around the pools!

We have an underground car parking space, great for when the weather gets hot, but this is a great location for people who don't want to drive...there is a Mercadona Supermarket (great value and a wide range of fresh meat, vegetables and especially fish) next door, with a Pharmacy as well. There are several major banks within a few hundred yards as well. You won't have to discuss who's driving in the evening either, as there are many restaurants, bars, and cafes within easy reach, to suit all tastes and budgets! It’s a 15 minute stroll to Puerto Banus, with all the glitz and glamour of the Marina with its billionaire yachts and designer shops, but you don't have to pay billionaire prices, there is plenty of choice around.

The remaining balance is due six weeks before your arrival date, along with a refundable breakages deposit of £200, which will be refunded within 10 days of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
