The Andalucia region

For those of you who have never visited Puerto Banus before, you are in for an absolute treat! Those of you who have been before will already know you are coming back to the most “happening” resort in the Costa del Sol. Puerto Banus is unique – based around a harbour filled with speed boats to enormous luxury yachts with fast cars to match and packed full of designer shops, bars, clubs, restaurants, cinemas, market stalls, department stores, and the most spectacular array of trendy, jet setting people. It's no wonder Puerto Banus has been a playground to the rich and famous for decades! To top it all off Puerto Banus is surrounded by many of the best golf courses, marine, aqua and safari parks and beaches in the whole of Spain. When you book we will send you a totally comprehensive guide on the best places to be seen in Puerto Banus!

The Costa del Sol, especially Marbella generally has good weather all year round as it is sheltered by the mountains behind in the winter, and cooled by the sea breezes in the summer. So if you don't choose the Costa del Sol for your summer break, why not try a winter vacation? Most residents and holiday makers alike enjoy winter here in summer attire and Christmas dinner on the beach or the terrace!

In your booking pack we will send you our comprehensive guide to the Costa del Sol which includes tons more important information; airport info / transfers / taxis / car hire / emergency numbers / tourist info / consulates / radio stations / English newspapers & magazines. We will also send you detailed information on things to do such as; golf / water sports / swimming clubs & lessons / tennis clubs / marine parks / aqua parks / safari parks / amusement parks / gymnasiums / horse riding / ice skating / skiing in Sierra Nevada / cinemas / bowling / shopping / markets / tours / museums / Gibraltar / Marbella town / shopping centres / designer shops / play parks / San Pedro / climbing / diving / cable skiing / excursions / beaches and SO much more.

And when you find yourself exhausted and you just want to relax by the pool and can't be bothered to leave the villa – why not read through our “Villa Pamper Services” booklet – and treat yourself to some poolside pampering – full details of which are all sent in your booking pack!

There is just SO much to do in this beautiful coastal area of Spain that you will never be bored – only invigorated trying to do it all - and hopefully ready to book again next year to do all the things you missed out on and just couldn't squeeze in this time!

Puerto Banus

This villa is located in a region called Nueva Andalucía which is a large area stretching along the coast to far inland and which encompasses both Puerto Banus and Marbella. It is in an enviable location being only 30 minutes' drive from Malaga airport and being only a short distance to the Golden sands and cobbled streets of Marbella or the jet setting night life and Marina of Puerto Banus. This villa is walking distance to some of the finest and “happening” beaches on Marbella's “Golden Mile”, and the local area has all the amenities, bars, chiringuitoes and restaurants you could wish for to make a perfect holiday in the Costa del Sol sunshine. This villa is only minutes' walk away from the “champagne party” day and night beach venues known as “Ocean” and “La Sala” beach clubs. Locally to this villa are tennis clubs, spas, gyms, adventure parks, golf courses and a stunning selection of beaches, places to eat and extensive night life.

Your villa is supplied with a very comprehensive Local amenities guide and map, which we also send for you to view at your enquiry stage. In our booking pack, we also send you our “villa pamper services” booklet, extensive information on Marbella, Puerto Banus and things to do on the beautiful Southern Spanish coastline of the Costa del Sol – far too much to list on this website – but here is a taste of what's in store for you!

"some good points but this accommodation is tired"

We booked this villa because we wanted a villa that had a bit of luxury. Having stayed in many 'ok' properties and a few that take your breath away, we were looking more this year for 'take your breath away'. The villa and pool areas are important to us as none of us are particularly keen on the beach. The photos and description on holiday lettings seemed to fit the bill. We did have some issues with the villa but I will give you a fair and balanced review because if you are happy with a villa that has many positive points but is not as luxurious as it looks in the pictures, this may be the villa for you.
The positives
Suzy was very friendly and efficient through the booking process. As we could not have our exact dates, Suzy immediately offered us a 650 euro discount which meant we paid 2000 euros for one week which was a pleasant and welcome surprise .
The villa is in a nice residential area with a reasonably good selection of bars and restaurants and a supermarket within really easy walking distance 5-10 mins. We arrived at the villa by 10.30 expecting to be sent away whilst it was cleaned but what ever cleaning was to be done had been completed so we were able to settle straight in and had the whole first day in the villa which was a real bonus. The villa is well equipped and spacious and with 2 families of 3 people, we never felt over crowded or on top of each other. The roof terrace is enormous and great for sunbathing and has fantastic views. There are no covered areas up there however (as shown on the photos on holiday lettings) but there are shaded areas you can pull your sun bed into or sit in by the pool if the lovely weather gets too much. Pool is a fairly decent size. Plenty of sun beds, tables etc. outside and a barbecue. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and 2 large fridges. The bathrooms have decent showers and baths (well ours did, didn't go in the others). Beds are comfy. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the beach and main shops restaurants and fabulous marina (under the underpass to get you beyond the busy road which if you have been to the costa del sol before, you will be very familiar with). Felt safe enough to allow our 16 year old boys down into the marina area in the evenings with a curfew of 12ish (which they managed to be late for every night!!). The villa is relaxing and well equipped enough that it is tempting to just eat in every night and watch the sun go down on the roof terrace but we did manage to make it out to eat a few nights.

The not so positives
The photos make the property look luxurious, it is not. The whole place could do with a really decent clean. The white leather setee is grubby, black leather cushions peeling, floors were dusty inside, bedding I am sure was beautiful when first bought but is now tired, my friend could smell the previous guests smelly arm pits on the satin bed covers and was convinced that sheets had been changed but not the satin throws. She washed the satin throw on the second day. Most disturbing when were arrived was the mouse droppings in the lounge which I pointed out to the lady who showed us around (bearing in mind this place had just been 'cleaned'). I was told they had probably carried something in on their shoes from outside when they were cleaning, however as the holiday went on it was clear by fresh droppings (mainly in our bedroom) that we had more visitors than we had paid for and they were slightly more hairy than us!! The pool was a little murky when we arrived even though pool man had been that day. It got worse over the days and a yucky scum formed around the pool edge. We pointed this out and the 'handyman' came to have a look. Being fairly intelligent people we were well aware that the oily scum was due to sun tan lotion but if everything is as it should be in the pool, this should clear itself. Handyman told me 'it wont harm you'. Have to say, as the paying guest, its not what I wanted to hear. However to be fair, after complaining, the pool man was summoned and added more chemicals which cleared it for the rest of the holiday but we had 2 days were we felt we could not go in the pool. There are about 15 tiles on the bottom of the pool with glaze missing. The poolside areas and the roof terrace had clearly not been mopped between guest and the sun loungers by the pool and the terrace furniture had bird poo on them. The seat covers in the shaded area were heavily stained and could have done with a good wash. I know you cant stop seagulls pooing and seat covers will get dirty when its a rental property but just a good wash of everything in between guests would help. On the second day my friend pointed out to me that the marble stand around the bathroom sink in her room was broken. When it came to check out, we showed it to the person who came to check us out. My friend was adamant that they had not broken the sink during our stay. Suzy came round and after some negotiation and discussion Suzy did return our deposit as by this time, she was aware that we had some issues with the villa, particularly the cleanliness and the mouse droppings. Suzy did say that we should have rung her as soon as we noticed the sink was broken but I am not sure that this would have altered anyone's perception of who broke the sink. Suzy also said that we should have rung her straight away if we had any issues with the cleanliness of the villa. I do believe that Suzy would have tried to rectify our concerns but to be honest, none of us wanted to cause a fuss and as we all got stuck in and cleaned the place ourselves, we just got on with it. We have had a lovely email from Suzy since we returned home apologising for the 'sink' incident and explaining that it is difficult when you have rental properties and I appreciate this is the case.
Despite some of the issues described, my friend felt the positives of the villa out weighted the negatives and she would rebook the villa where as I would not, it was nice but not the luxury I was looking for.

I don't know what to say – this lady only complained about the villa when she was leaving - angry at being accused by my cleaner of breaking a marble sink top.

My cleaners were particularly damage conscientious as we had just had100s of Euros of damage by a group of single lads – the cleaners were only doing their job, as I explained. However, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and gave her full deposit back with a very nice email apologising for any misunderstanding – even though the fact remains that the sink was broken when she left and it was not broken when she had arrived.

There was no mouse – it turned out to be tree kernels blown in as the patio door had been left open. I believe her other comments have been made in anger which is a shame because I felt we had left on good terms – especially as she received her full deposit back despite the issue of the damage. We work very hard to ensure all guests have an enjoyable stay with us, but sometimes incidents and accidents do happen and we always try to be fair and respectful and deal with these issues on their individual merit.

This villa is advertised as a “home from home” - It is not a 5 star hotel and does not claim to be – but it has all the amenities of one and the location is to die for. So please don't anyone be put off by this one review.

I have 100s of testimonies of very happy clients - available upon request, many of whom have returned year after year to this same villa, and most of them would disagree completely with any negative points made here.

"fantastic villa"

We booked the villa for my sisters hen do and it was totally perfect. Suzy was helpful and friendly right from the start. We booked our taxis through her and also the private chef she recommends. If you book I would highly recommend booking Debs to come and cook for you. Fanatic BBQ food! The villa is a great location. Short walk to to the beach. Try Gios round the corner for breakfast.

The roof terrace is HUGE far bigger than it looks on the photos and the views are to die for. We spent each night up there before going out with a glass of champagne.

I highly recommend this place.

Thank you

We do not ask guests to write a review as normally word of mouth is enough - and this villa is so popular - it normally speaks for itself - but this reveiew is appreciated compared to the other one - which we felt extreemly unfair

We are going to ask all clients to write a review from now on - as ones like yours make the effort we put in all worthwhile, and it is not fair to let one bad review spoil it for the rest

Thanks again love
