This spacious apartment guarantees a comfortable and relaxing holiday. It comprises of a large living area, kitchen and two bedrooms (one double, one twin) which have their own bathrooms, including showers & w/c's. Each room has individual remote control air conditioning and the modern kitchen contains all the appliances found in any home. For entertainment there is Digital Satellite TV, DVD player & Mini-Hifi or alternatively you can relax on the balcony and enjoy panoramic views of the La Concha mountain range. Although this is a self catering apartment clean bed linen and towels are provided upon your arrival.
The apartment is based within a group of traditionally styled apartments called La Maestranza, which are situated just 15 minutes walk from the harbour and beach of Puerto Banus and right in the middle of Golf valley. Within La Maestranza beautiful landscaped gardens there are two swimming pools (one large, one heated) and a splash pool for children. Secure underground parking is also available with a lift facility to the ground level
Local amenities are all close by, the Cafe next door cooks an excellent English breakfast, the Supermarket is only five minutes walk away and has a fantastic fresh fish counter and the chemist is next door to that so sun cream is at hand.
Basically, everything you need for a perfect holiday is at your fingertips.

The Costa del Sol region


The Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf due to the large amount of golf courses in the area. The apartment is located right in centre of the golf valley, which means you are within 10 minutes drive of the following five courses; Las Brisas, Los Naranjos, La Quinta, Aloha, and La Dama de Noche. For the more advanced golfer, Valderrama is only a hours drive away, as well as many others.
If golf doesn't interest you, then Nueva Andalucia is the perfect base from where to discover the Costa del Sol with it's typical white Andalucian villages such as Ojen and Monda. For sightseeing, Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Gibraltar, Cadiz and many more are easily visited in a day. Alternatively, if you wish you could simply laze on the famous beaches of Puerto Banus and Marbella or by the pool at the apartment.
Some attractions within easy driving distance are;
Gibraltar: You can take a day trip to Morrocco from the ferry terminal.
Benahavis: A lovely Andalucian village with a great selection of restaurants.
Ronda: A historical mountain town famous for its spectacular gorge.
Also, there is the Selwo Safari Park, Tivoli World Amusement Park and skiing in Sierra Nevadas.
The Puerto Banus area
Apart from the golf courses, the main attraction of the area is the harbour of Puerto Banus where you can relax on the beach by day and frequent one of the many shops, restaurants, bars and clubs by night.
But as well as being the home of golf and the famous port, this area also boasts two of the most popular commercial centres, Centro Plaza and El Corte Ingles Shopping Centre. Both thriving shopping complexes have everything that the you may need, from general day to day shopping to buying exquisite gifts from the designer shops and, not surprisingly, anything you may need for the golf course.
There is also an excellent street market (rastro) held next to the Bull Ring every Saturday morning (5 mins walk from the apartment) and if you have any money left over there is the Casino (one of Costa del Sol's only two Casinos), which boasts a vast gaming room and is also very close by.
Also, this area is fast becoming known for its fine range of cuisine, ranging from traditional Spanish food to the ultimate in Cordon Bleu and Eastern delights. Not forgetting a fantastic Cocktail Bar which is situated at the far end of the harbour on the beach.

Guestbook for La Maestranza
The apartment met all of our needs. It was well equipped, easy to use and trouble free. We appreciated the spacious accommodation and the privacy and space that two couples have within the apartment. Obviously it would also suit larger and different groups.
The complex is well maintained by very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you for suggesting local restaurants and we were not disappointed with those we tried but we also found self catering to be easy thanks to the supermarket in the next block.
The highlight however was a visit to the Alhambra Palace at Granada, just two hours away. We were fortunate to get tickets to the palace at the gate but we understand that in high season it is worth booking in advance through any branch of the BBVA Bank. Next time we plan to visit Seville and Cadiz.
