The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The typical white villages of Spain such as Ronda, Casares, and Istan are all within a short drive through some of the most spectacular & breathtaking hill & mountain scenery, whilst the oldest, Mijas, is less than an hours drive away. The pretty village of Benahavis, which has some of the best restaurants on the Costa del Sol, is just 15 minutes by car. On your way there you will pass through a delightful gorge, woodland and mountain streams.
At least 25 golf courses are in the surrounding area, all are of a very good standard. The long hours of sunshine that the Costa del Sol receives has established the region as a firm favourite for holidaymakers and golfing enthusiasts of all ages.
One of Europe’s largest Animal Reserves, Selwo, is just a few minutes drive away. Here you can enjoy a full day of African/Asian style adventure for adults and children by either walking or taking a tour in a four-wheel drive vehicle.
There are aqua parks, sea-life centres, boat trips, water sports, cable car rides and markets nearby. The market at Puerto Banus Bullring every Saturday.
Probably the most famous part of the area is the "Golden Mile" where luxury yachts are moored at the Puerto Banus Marina.
With over three hundred days of sunshine each year the Costa del Sol benefits from exceptionally good Mediterranean weather, with average summer temperatures exceeding 25 degrees and winter temperatures of 17 degrees. The coastline, full of natural splendour, and various 'blue flag' beaches, range from huge expanses of golden sand to hidden coves with secluded beaches. The majority of the beaches feature small open-air bars & restaurants, where you can sample a fine selection of food including fresh fish.

Only a 15 minute walk from the millionaire playground of Puerto Banus, with its selection of bars, restaurants and night life, where palm trees line the promenade. The sandy beaches are clean with bars and restaurants which specialise in all kinds of fish dishes and paella.
The older and more quaint town of San Pedro, only a 5 minute drive, and is certainly worth visiting, with the church square, narrow streets, local bars and restaurants.
Marbella an old, walled town enclosing Orange Square, surrounded by narrow lanes of exclusive shops, where you can sip fresh orange juice or chocolate and churros, whilst watching the world go by, or perhaps a glass of wine alongside the glamorous marina in Puerto Banus, where you might spot a famous face or tow. Malaga, the origins of which go back to the Phoenicians and Greeks, still retains its Spanish charm with its original bodegas and tapas bars, with fascinating architecture, including the Cathedral and La Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress so lavishly appointed that it rivalled any of the principal Arabian palaces.
There are an abundance of golf courses nearby, including Santa Maria, El Paraiso, Valderama and many more, all within a short drive.

DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT TO SENORIO DE ALOHA As you come out of the Airport take the signs to ' E15 - N340 Malaga/Cadiz' Over roundabout and stay in right hand lane to take N340 Torremolinos/Cadiz. Approximately 2.2km stay in right hand lane and take road signed 'E15 - N340 to Benalmadena & Algeciras. (you pass exit for Coin Churrina & Parador de Golf) Travel approximately 20km and just after footbridge which crosses road take exit marked Fuengirola - Coin (The following are exit roads you will pass before getting to this exit:- 1. Torremolinos, Palacio de Congresos ((& past motorway service station)). 2. Benalmedena Arroya de Miel, ((at this point the signpost changes to Algecira Fuengirola)) 3. Benalmedena - Mijas.) Just after the neon direction sign, take right hand lane A7 (N340) Costa (exit 214) to Fuengirola. Algerciras. (NOT toll Road marked Marbella/ Algerciras)
You will pass a large shopping mall called Las Canada, after this you take the 2ND exit to Puerto Banus/Nuevo Andaluz just opposite the PYR hotel on your left hand side. Keep to the left hand lane as soon as you come off the A7. At the roundabout you turn left and take the 1st turning right up the hill. Senorio de aloha is on the right hand side.

"The Apartment was perfect for us (age 30+ couple), a 15-20 minute walk up and down hill to beach/port. Would recommend a car for older people or families with young children, as the walk can be quite tough in the heat. Both pools were very clean with shower & toilet facilities on site although we did not make any use, as it is not a great spot for all day sunshine. All mod cons available in kitchen and all in working order. Everything was clean and very comfortable - will be staying again with up to another 4 people!! Taxi to/from port is €5/€6, to Marbella €10/€12 and to Malaga airport €60. " Imelda
