Sleeps 2. 1 bedroom spacious elegant first floor flat centrally located in Port d'Andratx, forms part of the conversion of the first 1950s hotel in the area, the building retaining many of the original features. The classical central staircase leads up from the main entrance hall to the apartment which spans the width of the building with a balcony at each end, one from the ensuite double bedroom with super kingsized bed, the other from the long living/dining area which overlooks the mountains.

This is an old hotel dating back to the 1950s which has been converted into a mixture of commercial premises and residential flats. It fronts onto a local street leading into the centre of the port. Opposite there is a sports centre with an outdoor swimming pool accessible to residents. Nearby, by car, there are beaches & coves/beach clubs/golf/cycling routes/walking routes/jogging tracks. Restaurants are less than a 5 minute stroll to the port with fishing boats, luxury yachts, marina, shops etc. Even easier, below the flat is a discreet quality restaurant offering good food. Outdoor table & chairs on balconies at either end of the flat offer pleasant views over hillside or mountains. Parking is easy - small cars recommended to explore the island's fascinating coastline and interior.

The Balearic Islands region

There are many golf courses in the vicinity, several within 15 minutes drive of the flat eg. Golf de Andratx, Golf Sta.Ponsa 1&2, Club de Golf de Poniente. Many others on the island,but car needed in all cases.

Puerto Andratx

The very pretty port is less than 5 minutes walk from the flat but not great for swimming. Best for this & beach activities & restaurants would be the nearest at Cala Llamp cove (Gran Folies Beach Club), (5 mins. in car), Camp de Mar public sandy beach (10 mins. in car) or Sant Elm bay (10 mins. in car). Many others are accessible all over the island and worth a visit - blue, clear water and pine fringed coastline with picturesque bays are amongst the best in Europe.

Car hire is definitely recommended! Palma de Mallorca International Airport is a half hour drive away from the apartment. Palma de Mallorca ferry terminal is also a half hour drive away from the apartment. Taxis are available from both these points. Public transport is available but guests need to check timetables between Palma town (not airport) and Port d'Andratx and it takes about an hour and a half, running approx. every hour or so.

Palma de Mallorca: 32 km. (35 minutes).

Drach Caves: 96 km. (1 hr.20 minutes).

Pollensa: 84 km. (1 hr).

Alcudia: 84 km. (1 hr).

Puerto de Soller: 53 km. (51 minutes).

Santa Ponsa: 18 km. (20 minutes).

Manacor: 84 km. (1 hr.5 minutes).

Formentor: 93 km. (1hr.30 minutes).

"A great find"

This is a spacious well maintained flat with every amenity. It is located conveniently for shopping, people watching and a host of eateries and cafes (especially the one downstairs, with top class food). Easy access to sea and brilliant walks. Perfect. Host and housekeeper both delightful.
