The Mallorca/Majorca region

Puerto Andratx area
The Port of Andratx is the jewel of Mallorca. It is a natural harbour surrounded by mountains and the waterfront area boasts stunning restaurants, bars, shops and cafes right next to the waters edge. For the adventurers, there is excellent scuba diving with San Telmo and Dragonera Island only 10 minutes away. You are spoilt for choice with many different beaches within easy reach. For those of you preferring the tranquillity of the mountains, Andratx is a great starting point to explore the mountainous west coast and the beautiful interior with villages such as Deia and Valdemossa. Local Fiestas around Andratx are as follows (dates are approximate, please check locally): 29 June Sant Pere at Andratx. 16 July Verge Del Carme at Port d'Andratx. August Fiesta de Mores y Cristians at Sant Elm. 28 August Sant Agusti in S'Arracó. 8 September Verge de la Trapa also at S'Arracó. Every Wednesday there is a street market in the centre of Andratx old-town, offering fresh local produce and crafts. Well worth a visit.
